Mr. Payne, That’s Just the Most Basic Side of Whitmer’s Fuel Tax Hike

It just warms the cockles of my heart that there is someone out there putting this obnoxious redistribution of our tax dollars into figures so the public is aware. This is what Michiganians are going to immediately feel out of their pocket.

Michiganians drive an average of 14,121 miles per year, according to the Federal Highway Administration. The average vehicle fuel economy for 2017 model-year vehicles was 24.9 miles per gallon, according to Environmental Protection Agency figures released Wednesday.

Do the math, and a 45-cent surcharge would add up to that $255 per year. That’s on top of the average current fuel bill of $1,389, assuming gasoline stays at the current $2.45 per gallon average price around the state.

Are the Envirotard dopes who are government subsidized in the purchase and, charging of driving their glorified golf carts around off the hook?

Gretchenomics: Welcome to the Granholm v2.0 era

Well, that didn’t take long to cast sunlight upon the Progressive Left’s wealth redistribution scheme.

If approved by the Republican-controlled House and Senate, Whitmer’s proposed 45-cent motor fuel tax increase would occur in three separate 15 cent tax hikes on Oct. 1, 2019, April 1, 2020, and Oct. 1, 2020.

The first two tax hikes would increase the tax by 30 cents and bring in an additional $1.26 billion during the 2019-20 fiscal year. But documents submitted by Whitmer as part of her executive budget recommendation on Tuesday indicate that the net increase to transportation funding will be just $764 million in 2019-20 fiscal year.

In other words, $499.2 million — an estimated 40 percent of the $1.26 billion gas tax increase in 2020 — would not go to roads. Instead, it would replace current transportation budget dollars that would be redirected to pay for other state government spending.

The Word DUPLICITOUS Does not Even Begin to Scratch the Surface

It boggles the mind how this clown still collects a paycheck.

I’ve advocated for a tax increase to fund road repairs, and Whitmer reportedly will call for a 45 cents hike in the fuel tax. That will be painful for motorists, but necessary. Michigan has neglected its infrastructure for so long that there’s no painless fix. The hike will give Michigan the highest per-gallon fuel costs in the Midwest, but we have to do it.

Wrong, dummy, we already ARE the highest per-gallon in the Midwest.

How quickly everyone forgets.

As for the rest of this nincompoop’s idle drool about legacy costs, Proposal A, education and other adult age socialism, well, that’s what happens when local leaders cater to public sector unions for endorsements to the offices they sought, of which, the much ballyhooed Freedom-To-Work Act never even came close to addressing.

Are you understanding it, yet?

Bonus. We all now know what the jagoff on the right in the photo above collects a taxpayer funded paycheck for.

Trump is Right, Again

Oh, lookie here at this headline. The Donald sure knows how to make things happen. Within a week’s timeframe Trump, has ’em jumping through hoops on the deplorable treatment of our Veterans with a simple poke at the war zero who screws over anything and anyone for personal gain, and now, the Undocumented Democrats.

Michigan Republicans, Congress rush to ban immigrant ‘sanctuary cities’ in wake of murder

The Bee-esS is so thick in our alleged two party system one needs wings to stay above it. Michigan Republicans, which hold every lever of power in Lansing, have sat around with their collective thumbs up their posterior for damn near a half decade on this illegal alien issue.

Want an “extra” Billion Dollar$ for fixing roads? We wrote about where to find it here: http://rightmi.com/old/www.rightmichigan.com/story/2011/5/20/24824/7155.html

Does anyone see this schmuck bringing up that issue? Hell no! Tax more (new Revenue), spend more (without accountability) ’cause, you know, “jobs, jobs, jobs“. That sleazy organization is little more than being about defending and expanding “cheap” subsidized labor: http://rightmi.com/old/www.rightmichigan.com/story/2012/7/13/20938/7728.html

So, where do you think Slick Rick stands on the issue of illegal aliens? Why, he fabricates history in his Progressive little mind and spews it out as if it’s a normal thing to do. There’s the problem with Snyder’s brand of crony capitalism. His house of cards falls when sunlight shines upon his gamed leveraged use of public monies becomes apparent for everyone to see.

But I digress.

Back to illegal aliens. Remember this?

Gatecrashers. They’re an insult to all who have legally obtained citizenship. But, whose base are we talking about here? Democrats and their poverty plantation, which pandering whores like Boehner, McConnell, and Priebus, desperately try to imitate. Do not even get me started on the state party apparatchik’s dunce trying to wage a cat-fight with sHillary.

Luckily for Little Ronna, she has someone who is her mental midget equal. Yes, Brandon, we get the “Mexican immigrants” drift your race hustling, vote buying, MDP/DNC sleaziods parrot because if the gatecrashers voted Conservative, your Party would have the borders sealed tight in a heartbeat.

Fact.

Yet, Studley was too Cowardly to Push Prop 15-1?

Never forget, and never take your eyes off the slippery Dick.

What is it that SOB’s in Lansing, do not understand about no new taxes?

Look, as long as Kirk Steudle is in charge of MDOT, which has the money to waste on stupidity like this, our legislature has not done its job.

Time for part time legislature because, 51.4¢ a gallon on gas, and 55.6¢ a gallon on diesel: http://www.api.org/state-taxes/michigan.pdf

MDOT: What’s Another $4,400,000.00? It’s not Like it’s Your Money

This is what arrogance and graft within bureaucracy looks like, folks.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is negotiating a lower lease rate for 23 passenger railcars now costing taxpayers $3,000 a day to sit idle. But the length of time the state could have to lease the cars before it can use them has doubled from two years to four years, according to a report sent to state lawmakers.

At the current lease rates, that means MDOT [taxpayers] would have to sink about another $4.4 million into lease charges before it is able to put the cars into service.

The Free Press on Feb. 1 broke the news of the idle railcars, which are intended for two proposed commuter services in southeast Michigan and so far have cost the state [taxpayers] about $12 million in refurbishment, consulting [more graft] and leasing costs since 2010.

A half decade. 5 years and the plan is – there is no plan? Despicable. To say that This Guy is an incompetent boob and complete charlatan is an insult to incompetent boobs and charlatans who are forced to somehow figure out ways to survive in the private sector.

Single Cent Snyder is a total disgrace as well is every single legislator still in office who voted for this offensive garbage, which would be forever entrenched into our state’s constitution. And, don’t forget about the embedded fraud to the tune of at least $70M more per year. Do also note that Joan “gets it” about EITC.

Remember when Two Penny Jenny was a bad idea? Ya, well, with Single Cent SnyderIt Only Gets Worse. A lot worse if figuring in this unresolved can of worms.

So… Safe Roads, yes?

Michigan traffic deaths fall 8% in ’14

Even the helmet-less motorcyclists strawman numbers are down. So much for the alleged ‘untouchable’ $18,000,000,000.00 *fund* that Lansing politicians are protecting for their insurance industry lobbyist friends, huh? It’s on the table for discussion now, governor Snyder.

You also have noticed that Snyder’s Martin Waymire, and McLellen is now pushing the repair cost meme, right?

GasTaxRegistrationFreesHikeDave Waymire, a spokesman for the Safe Roads Yes ballot committee campaigning for the measure’s passage, said most residents do not claim itemized deductions on federal returns. Crummy roads cost drivers an extra $539 a year in vehicle operating costs [Snyder’s people really cannot keep their figures straight, can they?] due to repairs, tire wear and increased fuel consumption, according to the proposal’s proponents who cite a report from the transportation research group TRIP [another quasi-governmental organization like PASER – that’s a Fact].

“Many Michigan residents today pay a hidden tax for our poor roads by virtue of [incompetency bordering criminal intent] the high cost of repairs that are incurred due to potholes, extra wear and tear on their vehicles,” Waymire said. “If you consider the hidden tax [or the BIGGER hidden tax on top of the 16.7% hike that is Proposal 1], which our opponents refuse to acknowledge, this is a substantial [Zero] savings for Michigan.”

Stop-100Another “unadvertised feature” of the plan is that taxes on fuel sold for boats, off-road vehicles and lawnmowers would rise significantly because the fuel would not be exempt from the sales tax, Anderson said. The new 7 percent sales tax [hike of 16.7%] would only be removed from fuel used to operate motor vehicles on public roads, raising compliance issues [see Here and Here] since the vast majority of fuel is sold by gas stations without regard to whether someone is filling up a car, boat or gas can, according to the nonpartisan Citizens Research Council of Michigan.

“Some promise it will be fixed. It’s not fixed now, so we included it,” said Anderson. He said he is not a “fan” of Proposal 1 but when his research company crunches numbers, “we do them straight.”
