When JP Morgan Says Jump, Sen. Stabenow Says: How High?

Some recent development gives insight on why the Democratic Party loves "the poor" so much, and why they create so many of them.  Over at Breitbart's Big Government, they highlight a new GAI report that details how JP Morgan has made "at least $560,492,596" processing EBT cards in 75% of the 24 states they have under contract.  via Big Government

Indeed, JP Morgan's Christopher Paton told Bloomberg News that food stamps are big business for the big bank:

"We are the largest processor of food stamps in the country...[the EBT program] is a very important business to JP Morgan. It's an important business in terms of its size and scale.... Right now volumes have gone through the roof in the past couple of years or so. The good news from JP Morgan's perspective is the infrastructure that we built has been able to cope with that increase in volume."

While some may be glad that a private company-not a government agency-is tasked with EBT transactions, the GAI report reveals that JP Morgan does not use the same fraud detection systems commonly used by today's credit card companies.  In fact, federal and state agencies--not EBT processors--are the ones tasked with policing food stamp fraud.

Nice gig, eh?  JP Morgan lobbies Ag Committee Chair Sen. Debbie Stabenow, for their graft then those of us that are taxpayers also get to pay for the policing of JP Morgan's transaction processing.  Think not?

So how did EBT processors like JP Morgan land its lucrative half-billion dollars worth of contracts?

The GAI report, Profits From Poverty: How Food Stamps Make Corporations Money, says JP Morgan's political donations to members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees (who oversee the food stamp program) skyrocketed once the bank entered the EBT market:

Between 1998 and 2002, JPMorgan's total contributions per election cycle averaged $82, 897. After JP Morgan entered the EBT services market until the 2010 election cycle, their average donation per cycle more than doubled to $215,120.... JPMorgan's donations to political campaigns also show a clear trend. During the 2008 election, Barack Obama received more than twice the contributions of John McCain: $807,000 for Obama compared to McCain's $345,505.

Today, one out of every seven people in America receive taxpayer-funded food stamps.

When it comes to funding campaigns, JP Morgan is Debbie Stabenow's third best friend.  Remember folks, the $500 billion Farm Bill that Sen. Stabenow, is now all of a sudden campaigning on while Arab Spring rages against America, is 80% EBT/SNAP money.  JP Morgan has paid Debbie handsomely for their share of that $400 million in food stamp monies her committee sent to the Senate floor.

What's a Food Stamp President Obama, to do?  Only one thing...

Naturally, have Sen. Stabenow's crony corporatism friend, and Obama's Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, work with the Mexican Government to teach their legal but Non-citizen guests, and Anchor Baby illegal alien families playing squatters rights in America, all the wonders of Democratic Party global wealth redistribution.

USDA did not offer data for 2011 and 2012, but a Republican Budget Committee staffer told TheDC that based on the growth rate, the number of legal non-citizens participating in the food stamp program today is about 1.63 million. That's more than double the number of legal non-citizens who participated in 2008.

"Our nation is nearing a debt crisis and yet the Obama Administration has conducted thirty activities and meetings with the Mexican government to place even more foreign nationals on American welfare," Sessions said. "The number of non-citizens receiving food stamp support has doubled since the president took office. Such a policy defies rational thinking during a time of weak growth, high debt, and increasing welfare dependency. President Obama will have to defend this alarming partnership to the American people."

Indeed.  Debbie Stabenow, also has a lot of explaining to do.

I have to say that I am completely gobsmacked to still see Pete Hoekstra, trailing Debbie Stabenow, in polling.  For the most part, Rick Snyder is responsible for the cellar dweller numbers for Pete Hoekstra, and Romney, in Michigan.  One can even make claim that Rick Snyder has single-handedly turned Michigan into a complete non-factor for November.

This election is shaping up to be the least contested battle for Michigan in decades.

Neither Obama nor Romney is spending any money on campaign ads and neither have any plans to return to Michigan. Obama was most recently in the state April 18 and Romney last visited the state Aug. 24 for a rally in Oakland County.

I'm reasonably sure that Brewer, Stabenow, and Obama, thank Snyder for that.  Bottom line is that the Office of The Governor is now held by an alleged member of the MI-GOP, and much to Rick Snyder's too divisive chagrin, he is the Flagship of the Party, and That Buck Stops at His Desk.  That said, it is fact that God gave each of us a brain.

Exit question is a must.  Hoekstra, or Stabenow... WTF is wrong with you people?

I had no idea.  But then again I am following the Kwame Kilpatrick trial so this type of fraud, theft and unethical behavior does not surprise me.

Now send a copy of your post to the Hoekstra campaign and see what comes of it.

O/T kinda.... WLNS TV6 here in mid-Michigan posted a poll in their early AM broadcast today.  The question:  If the election was held today who would you vote for?

    27% - Obama
    72% - Romney
    1% - Other

    Interesting????

After reading through this post and the links, this almost incestuous relationship pertaining to spending and lobbying is getting damned depressing.

I know that most everyone is hoping that the numbers will flip, but Pete Hoekstra's campaign hopes are going to go the way of Nancy Cassis' and for the very same reason: The kakistocracy that pushed so hard for someone's "turn" in office, P.O.'d the very same grass roots needed to assure a solid victory.

Our illustrious governor isn't helping the situation either.

My snitches tell me that this is becoming more of a concern.

Pension, income and the other tax hikes he got the Mi-GOP to down the kool aid before approving aren't helping. Neither is his push to ram thru a GAS TAX HIKE during lame duck.

The word of mouth feedback I'm getting makes me a little encouraged on the Proposals.

    The officeholders, not so much.
