Damn Good Thing Eddie Duggan was on Gretchen Whitmer’s Transition Team Otherwise Dana Nessel Would be Placed in a bad Position

Oh shit, is that title right? No, it’s not. And I thank Charlie LeDuff (listen to connect the dots there), the folks over at Deadline Detroit, and Bankhole, for keeping this alive.

Peon scapegoats? After the Rick Snyder/Brian Calley Detroit bailout?

If the feds don’t smash this Ed McNamara politburo machine down, then there’s no point in building a wall. Not for Michigan families, anyway.

The New Stasi

Michigan's new thought police effort violates the 1st and 14th Amendments according to lawsuit by AFLC

Some of Michigan’s new administration’s nonsense goes beyond ‘virtue signalling’ or shaming.

We’ve had a few minutes for it to settle in.  But the bottom line is that Michigan’s newest Attorney General Dana Nessel is clearly using the power of the state to persecute those who would disagree with her worldview.  To the level legally possible, she is using public monies to pressure those who have something to say to either shut up or be pilloried in the court of public opinion.

And this publicly funded defamation, riding under the guise of fighting ‘hate speech’ is being done indiscriminately, and lazily.  Nessel’s new thought police unit is using a map to target, and developed by the SPLC, a private, ideologically driven legal services cult that frequently identifies churches or family organizations as hate groups.

One of those groups is having none of it.

In a lawsuit naming (the new hate crimes unit) DANA NESSEL, and AGUSTIN V. ARBULU (Michigan dept of civil rights director), the American Freedom Law Center has charged that Nessel has officially sanctioned the SPLC’s opinions as those of the state, putting groups like the AFLC officially under the umbrella of hate as described by a private entity.  Officially sanctioning the partisan opinions with the use of taxpayer dollars and the authority of the office to punish free speech and educational activities engaged in by the AFLC.

Thought Carrie Nation was an Abject Failure? Try, Allah Nation

The first question should be, much like any homicide, does current statute prevent anything? If no, then what’s the point of criminalizing another whole new group of people other than to backdoor prohibition?

State Rep. Abdullah Hammoud concedes that his goal is not just to eliminate drunken driving. He wants to keep anybody who has consumed any amount of alcohol from getting behind the wheel.

“Drink, or drive,” said Hammoud, D-Dearborn. “Choose one. It should never be both.”

Hammoud, 29, a non-drinker with a background in public health, introduced a package of bills last week that would lower the threshold for drunken driving to a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.05, from the current 0.08.

Hammoud a non-drinker? Allah-Shazam! Guess what? He’s a non-pork eater too. Shall we criminalize eating bacon? Why not, Abdullah’s Democrat Party buddy, Alexithymia Ocashew-Cortex wants to ban cow farts, and am pretty sure pigs fart too so, let’s not offend any moslems, right? 🤦‍♂️

Howes: it’s just I know so much that isn’t so

Shot

Chaser

As usual, Sundance is spot-on in his assessment. Mary Barra, perhaps the most questionable selection of a CEO in General Motors’ history, is not operating in the best interests of the working men and women of America, just the same as the politically motivated UAW leadership that fails it’s members. When it comes to these Wall Street players, sorry worker bee’s, they both are just not that interested in Main Street pain.

Also, of late Mr. Howes appears to trumpet the nonsense of autonomous vehicles, which GM, Ford, Google (I know, astonishing, right?), among a few others have gone “all in” as the way of their future business model. Meh, perhaps. However, all one needs to do is look at Tesla, Airbus, and now, Boeing, to see that autonomous vehicles are in no way, shape nor form, close to being primetime on our congested roadways. Not in our lifetime, anyway.

Showing your true colors.

Despite the calls for “bipartisianship”(remember when THAT was the buzzword), “tolerance”, blah-blah-blah, etc, AG Nessel officially went off the reservation yesterday and signed Michigan onto a multistate lawsuit AGAINST Pres. Trump and his actions to protect everyday Americans from the illegal aliens massing along the southern border.

This is what happens when the republican kakistocracy runs a boat anchor at the top of the ticket and p.o.’s The Grassroots when it doesn’t cut ties with a certain Supreme Court Justice. Tom Leonard would NEVER have signed off on this!

Curiously, as of this morning, she didn’t feel that it was important to share her passion to protect a major threat to Michigananians with the rest of us through official channels.

I’m running late for a run, but more to follow later…

Are they even aware of what they’re selling?

So in the midst of all of the post-election analysis, we’ve heard the “experts” from other outlets drone on about why the 2018 Election went the way it did.

We’ve heard them tell us that this is the vaunted “Blue Wave” sweeping across America. Despite the rash of ballots “miraculously” showing up in places like Florida (and apparently now here) along with Arizona, democrats still only control the House.

We’ve been told that this is the year of the woman. Yet, I’m waiting to hear why superior candidates like Lang and Epstein didn’t benefit from this?

Finally, the media (or infotainment complex…take your pick), dredges up their favorite rationale for last Tuesday Night’s results: It’s all President Trump’s fault.

If you get past their self-created echo chamber, you might have noticed the marked lack of coverage of the rise in America’s economy that has taken place since the ‘16 election (far higher than any democrat or their sycophants claimed was possible) , unemployment numbers falling ACROSS THE BOARD, and a newfound respect for America around the world since a certain Chicago street hustler was no longer in a position to embarrass our Republic by bowing down to foreign leaders at every opportunity and generally showing no backbone with the same by conceding at every opportunity.

I’m going to bring up a topic that the so-called conservative policy wonks running the multitude of losing campaigns are loath to ask themselves.

In The End

Some things that must be said about the election of Nov 6

There was Chaos

The election of Nov 6 revealed much about our future, and what makes up a significant part of the voting public in our state. Michigan is now subject to the whims of estrogen,THC, envy, and puddle brained TV watchers.

Beginning Jan 1, we have a Governor who lies about her mother’s health care to get elected. Who advocates the further expansion of medicaid, but will not accept it in the family dental business. Who participates in the Vagina monologues; not from some little poetry club, but from the capitol steps in a way that makes Donald Trump’s worst days seem civil.

Beginning January 1, we have a Secretary of State who oversees our elections, but apparently couldn’t take the time to notice that workers in her office in 2010 were engaging in election fraud.  should there be any surprise if they will find suitable jobs for their efforts in the new administrations?

Beginning January 1, a nutty lesbian will be the Attorney General of Michigan.  While this may seem an abusive way to describe our state’s next top lawyer, it is actually objective and accurate, if only from observing the personal way in which she treated her staff and the in-your face ways she flouts her unnatural life choices.

Beginning January 1 and if of age, you can get buzzed, high, stoned, wasted, crunked, etc., ..legally.  You can carry around blunts, dope, weed, reefer, Mary-jo, Burrito, bag, and more ..legally.  You still cannot drive with it in your system however, so try to figure out how best to crawl to that factory job without getting behind the wheel playa.

Beginning January 1, the old gerrymandering scheme is out!  The NEW Gerrymandering scheme is in!  Only THIS TIME, it will be with the assistance of the Secretary of State who embraces election fraud. With the new 2020 census and fresh ‘apolitical’ eyes, what could possibly go wrong?

2023 Is On The Ballot Tuesday, Not Trump

Your Vote Tuesday Will Determine Political Control in 2023

A lot of Michigan’s independents and weak Republicans are planning on voting against President Trump on Tuesday.  They are being very short sighted.  Actually shooting themselves in the foot.  They will not get another chance to influence Michigan politics or our economy for a decade or more.

Few analysts are predicting that the Democrats will take control of the Michigan Senate on Tuesday, but quite a few are saying that the Democrats have a good shot at taking the Michigan House.  Polls show Bill Schuette at some disadvantage to Gretchen Whitmer in the Governor’s race.  Those same polls are projecting easy wins for Proposal 2018-02, the Democratic Party redistricting coup, and Proposal 2018-03, the voting fraud promotion plan.

Keep in mind that Governors tend to get reelected, so if Whitmer wins on Tuesday, she could well be in charge out to the end of 2026.  Projecting another lost decade for the Michigan economy is entirely reasonable.  Taxes and regulation will skyrocket.

But the Democrats won’t win the State Senate, they say.  They are being very short sighted.  Democrats will win the Senate, but not until 2022.  Here is why:

2018 Michigan State House Races

Cross-posted at The Western RightRight Michigan, and RRH Elections.

All 110 seats in the Michigan House of Representatives will be up for election in November. Republicans won a 63-47 majority in 2016, the same margin as in 2014. There are 42 open seats, 25 held by Republicans and 17 held by democrats. There are 23 open due to term-limits, 18 just due to seeking another office, and 1 pure retirement.

Democrats are hoping to take control of the state house. They may benefit from anti-Trump enthusiasm.  Libertarians achieved major party status due to Gary Johnson’s showing in 2016, which led to more Libertarian candidates.  The elimination of straight ticket voting may help Republicans in downballot races.

Conservatives did reasonably well in 2018 primaries.  Conservative Lee Chatfield is the presumptive next house GOP leader.

Republican Michigander has a profile of the Michigan state house focusing more on district demographics.

The following lists district number, current incumbent, geographic description, 2012, 2014, and 2016 state house results, 2012 Romney %, 2016 Trump % (if known), and political rating.  The complete candidate list is available here:

2018 Michigan State Senate Elections

Cross-posted at The Western RightRight Michigan, and RRH Elections.

All 38 seats in the Michigan Senate are up for election in 2014.  Republicans currently have a 27-11 supermajority, and have controlled the senate since 1983.  Republican control of the state senate has prevented democrats from complete control of Michigan’s government in some years, and stopped a lot of bad things from being passed.

Fortunately for Republicans, the Michigan state senate is up only in midterms, which usually favor Republicans much more than presidential years.  Republicans had a good year in 2014, picking up one state senate seat, following four pickups in 2010.

The 2010 redistricting produced a map that was moderately pro-Republican, while complying with all relevant laws.

Michigan Redistricting: Official Republican State Senate Map Released
Michigan Redistricting: Republican State Senate Map Passed

There are 26 open seats due to term-limits, 7 D and 19 R.  All current state senators are former state representatives except three (Colbeck, Conyers, Hertel).  Next year, three Detroit-based districts will have senators with no house experience.

For the past few years, the state senate has been more moderate than the state house.  This cycle, several ideologically split Republican primaries resulted in a state senate that will be slightly more conservative than before.

I have included election data for the 2014 state senate election, and McCain (2008), Romney (2012), and Trump (2016) results in each district.  More data is available from Republican Michigander and RRH Elections.

The McCain numbers look terrible for Republicans because he collapsed after publicly pulling out of Michigan.  The largest McCain percentage in any Michigan state senate district won by a democrat in the past twelve years is 46.2% in (old) district 31.

Here is a breakdown of the individual races.  State reps years in office are listed after their names, with P meaning present.
