This is What Rick Snyder is Bailing Out?

via WXYZ

So, this is what Snyder, Richardville, and Bolger, are peddling as their $350M “Grand Bargain”. Got it. And, Oakland County you sure know how to pick winners too.

“That is why it was a no-brainer when I supported a vote on the DIA millage in 2012. More than 63% of Oakland County voters agreed with me. And a majority of voters in Wayne and Macomb did, too.” – L. Brooks Patterson 01/19/2014

Low Information Reporters: Where low information voters are created

If you ever wondered where low information voters come from, here’s one place to start: Low information reporters.

Here’s an excerpt from MLive.com. See if you can spot the problem sentence in this excerpt of our MLive reporter recanting Mark Schauer (Democrat) latest campaign speech:

He pledged to fight for a minimum wage increase, restoration of school funding and the earned income tax credit and repeals of pension taxes and right-to-work legislation that banned collecting union dues.

Uhhh, “legislation that banned collecting union dues“? Really?

Michigan’s Right-to-work law only prohibits forcing workers to pay dues to a union:

Right-to-work means that unions can’t require an employee be fired for declining to pay union dues or agency fees, while maintaining a union’s ability to collectively bargain.

You would think a reporter covering Michigan’s Gubernatorial campaign would know what, exactly, Michigan’s right-to-work law actually says since the right-to-work issue is going to be an important topic in the governor’s race for the next nine months or so.

Bankrupt – The Movie

Detroit.

Cronyism, corruption, bailouts, favored status, confiscation through eminent domain, picking winners and losers.  Sound familiar?

This documentary premiered yesterday in Washington DC, and offers some historic perspective to the decline of Detroit.

Perhaps even, an explanation (a warning) of what is to come next, as long as we allow our governments to engage in corporatism; a way in which our taxpayers dollars are funneled into the pockets of special interests  and how corruption has abused Detroit, providing little benefit to those paying the bills. At one point Thomas LaDuke makes a great point about not questioning “people’s heart or motives,” but his frustration of how city residents don’t actually see how the city has been run.

Land Making Potholes for a smooth Gary Peters Victory

The cognitive dissonance is just staggering.

“Detroit is central to our state. It’s very important, it’s the home of the auto industry. As Detroit is successful the whole state is successful.”

What better way to convey that message than by doing it with a discontinued niche vehicle built in Texas, by a corporation headquartered in Illinois?

And seriously, is it possible this dweeb is so out of touch, along with the rest of the Schostak Party apparatchik, that they do not know they all are being laughed at?

Presstitute Finley: OMG FRINGE FRINGE FRINGE!!

clown-finley Noted Clown Presstitute and Media whore Nolan Finley thrashes about in the big-top of meaninglessness once more.

Since the hit piece by itself is hardly readable without a little vomit expunging itself in one’s throat, I have created a little guide that will help folks figure out what it is he thinks he is talking about.
**Nolan Finley Footnotes and Definitions**

**”GOP Regulars”
**”Mainstream Michigan Republicans”
**”Veteran GOP activists”
All used to firmly plant in the mind of the reader as the ‘NORMAL’ ones. but in reality = “Entrenched Unprincipled Progressives in the GOP”

**”Extremists”
**”GOP fringe groups”
The folks who saved the party in 2010 from self destruction, gaining majorities in places undreamed of.

**”most of Michigan’s GOP leadership.” = A select small group of individuals who feel a sense of entitlement to leadership and ownership for all the efforts REAL GRASS ROOTS perform. A group that does not like to share power, especially if it is with “Extremists”

**”detriment to the party’s success.” = A condition fully subjective and to the whim of “GOP Regulars”

**” a political action committee, called Advance Michigan” = Party hacks testing unexploded ordnance with a ball peen hammer like a bunch of chimpanzees.  Some of which might carry a “have a nice day” smiley face sticker

**”common sense conservatism.” = A time tested method by progressives in the Republican party in which decline is clearly managed. (See “Surrender” in the French military handbook)

**” embarrassing the party” = Upholding party platform positions and mores.

**”“This will be a broad-based movement to help advance conservative principles” = A statement by a man standing on a precipice and one foot over the chasm (See Wile E. Coyote)  We’ll be taking bets on whether the sign that says “help!” hangs in mid-air for a second after his descent.

And finally?

““We can be our own worst enemy.” = The Only thing that made any sense in the entire page.

Feds: “Maybe If You Were A Democrat”

Not stated directly, but it would probably help him out.

Implied by Tim Skubick, and more directly stated by a commenter; “Snyder is a Republican, so he will not get the $250 million for the customs plaza necessary to complete his end-around bridge play.”  Tim says:

Can’t you see it now? The governor shows up with shovel in hand, let’s say in October, one month before the election, for the launch of the bridge project. He could boast – although he says he does not take credit – that 20,000 jobs are being created with a whole host of them aimed at union workers in vote-rich southeast Michigan.

The Democrats want this state back.  And even though Michigan’s Governor Rick Snyder has ‘progressed’ their goals in many ways, he still wears the R flag, and is by association to it; the enemy.

A solution of course, would be for Mr Snyder to own up to his meandering left of center on so many issues, and simply switch.

Winning Our Future

By now, migrating readers of sunsetting RightMichigan are probably familiar with the Michigan Republican Party’s obsession with destroying Conservatives within their “all inclusive” endeavors.

It’s unfortunate and disappointingly true, that the Left’s agenda has crept deeply into the Grand Old Party. Instead of explaining WHY a large Welfare State is not healthy for the individual as well as their families, some Republican legislators are following the pied piper Nerd of Ann Arbor and are growing it. Instead of Reminding us of the Party’s stated mission that high taxes are destructive to economies, some Republican lawmakers wish to fiddle with drastic increases in Use Taxes instead of correcting poor existing allocations. Instead of ‘True love’ as an answer to gross mismanagement for decades, Detroit leadership’s irresponsible behavior would instead be rewarded by a Republican Governor who pretends a bailout of hundreds of millions of dollars is .. well .. somehow not a bailout. The same Republican governor who advocated transparency in his campaign, but vetoed a 100% UNANIMOUS bill demanding transparency; a condition that could be effortlessly over ridden, yet forgotten by Republican and Democratic leadership in both houses.

Add to this, Republican Party leadership who in the face of all this remained mute, leading us to believe there was no problem? That Republican Principles as stated, were doing just fine. That no diametric anomaly was present, and all was well?

A Nation Of Takers – Divertere?

The worst part of Rick Snyder’s MASSIVE expansion of the MEDC, and the plans in the works for the rewarding of Michigan business to resettle in Detroit, is that the money comes from elsewhere.

Central planning under ANY pretty name is STILL central planning.

This video by AEI is entertaining, and the messaging is spot on.  Any 8 year old could understand, but will our legislators?

Itching Ears and Mad Prophets

My pastor, when he’s discussing contemporary culture from either the sanctuary pulpit or the classroom lectern, likes to refer to what he calls, “itching ear disorder.”  The primary Scripture reference is 2 Timothy 4:3-4, referring to a time when people will have no further interest in the truth, and won’t tolerate listening to anything that contradicts their philosophical predispositions.  As a student of Scripture, I can say with some certainty that the prophets and apostles were well acquainted with this disorder.  Hosea even wrote about a time when hostility against the truth would become so great that those who insist on speaking it would be considered fools and maniacs.  According to a disputed George Orwell quote (“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.  The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”), “itching ear disorder” isn’t exactly an unusual condition in the human experience.

And this brings us to the current philosophical skirmish involving Michigan’s Republican National Committeeman, which involves the latest escalation by some unsavory elements within the Michigan Republican Party, who seem to be in a desperate quest to reclaim lost relevance.

Michigan Republican L Brooks Patterson Scandal and MIGOP Crickets

Where’s the outrage from Rick Snyder, Betsy DeVos, Ron Weiser, Bobby Schostak, Paul Welday, Dennis Lennox and all the rest of the Dave Agema “head hunter’s” and let’s not forget Ken Braun, Kathy Hoekstra, and Saul Anuzis!

The black community in Detroit is up in arms over the L Brooks Patterson scandal and all we hear from the aforementioned is crickets! Could it be that all those Dave Agema bashers are sympathizers of the Gay’s, Lesbians and Muslims but not the Black Americans in Detroit! Can you say different agenda!A L Brooks Patterson Scandal and MIGOP Crickets
