Michigan Republicans are the most gullible, and idiotic Republicans anywhere. And I say that to be nice.
I was elected a delegate, I voted for people to elect our chair, and those people elected a chair. The position has a specific term unless properly removed through process where I and other delegates have a chance to weigh in on. I don’t recall a convention for such a purpose, and some non convention convention happening as a result of Strategic national (or other political flame-throwing operation) is not exactly binding over the process in which we govern our party. But I guess there are judges who think it is? (As an aside who this judge has donated heavily to in the past might offer ..insights – Rhymes with Rick Snyder and Brian Calley)
A Kent County judge affirmed Tuesday that Kristina Karamo was “properly” removed as the chair of the Michigan Republican Party.
The decision follows months of internal disputes within the state GOP concerning its financial health, culminating in a vote on Jan. 6, 2024, where party members opted to oust Karamo from her leadership position.
Kent County Circuit Court Judge J. Joseph Rossi, in his ruling, stated that any actions taken by Karamo on behalf of the Michigan Republican state committee since January 6 are void. The ruling also barred her from representing the party.
Who elected that guy? Oh yeah Grand Rapids did. Not the duly elected delegates of the Michigan’s congressional districts. So there is that.
It only smells a little like second hand pasta. Just a little.
So, Is/Was Karamos effective?
Perhaps not as much as should/could be/have-been if not locked out of the MiGOP headquarters (she wasn’t Weiserish enough), or given the establishment finger across the throat for funding (not willing to sell her soul), or simply ..dare I say it Not .. ..umm ..experienced in Michigan cut throat politics. This of course is a problem for so many I suppose.

You don’t understand that there are favors to be sold, and those willing to buy are banking their stash till the asbestos pixie dust of Michigan’s political system has settled!

If Karamos wasn’t the one being removed, and it was DePorno or some other newbie schmuck that captured the imagination of our freshmen delegate squad, I would feel the same way. The process is now damaged goods. Already, its nigh impossible to trust the elections where everyone votes. But the way in which the Grand Old Party( that is literally a born-in-Michigan institution) is seeing it’s process abused?
I guess … Unless there is a fantastic McGuyver save on the horizon, its not worth my time anymore.

I’m sure you are referring to the meeting to depose Sue Allor, called with only 3 days notice when the District Bylaws require a 5 day notice. As for MIGOP Bylaws, I’m sure you have internet. Just type MIGOP Bylaws into your browser. Let your fingers do the walking. You can apologize later in person.

I offered an opinion in the way I did. You called it bullshit, But for any kind of substantiating commentary, I would expect a response with "according to these articles in the bylaws the meeting was called,..yada yada"

The MiGOP would have been done in 2010 if not for my efforts. If you don't recall then you never did pay attention. I have had the back of the GOP, even under the 'old guard' taking on tasks that most people don't even know go on. In recent years, I have backed off to let a new generation of activists step up. I have always gotten along with all factions very well, even when critiquing some of their foibles.
Some of the new folks are inexperienced and can be fooled easily. A lot of the old were always fooled.

Just read the bylaws. Your first comment falls right in line with the torrent of lies that have invaded my inbox multiple times daily. Both the RNC, and a Kent County Judge have agreed with MY position. Not yours. If anyone has been fooled it is you. By observation, I conclude that Karamo was destroying the MIGOP. If you are OK with that, you’re always certainly entitled to your own ooinion I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

As a MIGOP delegate...just got word that more than half of the 37 counties making up the 1st Congressional District, will NOT be credentialed to the state MIGOP convention. WHAT??? How is this okay in anyone's playbook, much less Trump's? And, if these actions are okay in Trump's playbook...I cannot believe Trump is okaying these actions by siding with Hoekstra. This needs to stop now.
They are not credentialed because county chairs refused to submit lists of delegates and alternates. Put the blame where it belongs, on them, not Pete.
