Kids, This bus Doesn’t Move Until you all Buckle Your Seat Belts

Of course, the title of this post is as fictitious as the propaganda below.

See that? Now it’s about children’s safety so, see Sec. 257.710e (2). Precious cargo, huh?

At least the $2B annual tax hikers stopped just short of “Or even the whole bridge” in this attempt to excite the emotions of easy preyed upon dimwits who might be gullible enough to buy into this contractor lobbied nonsense.

Here Comes the BIG SCARE

Boy, the desperation is getting thick within the Ineptocracy that is Lansing, and D.C.

The Federal Highway Trust Fund, which accounts for nearly one-third of the state’s transportation budget, made about $1 billion available to Michigan in 2013. That’s 8 percent less than five years earlier and 15 percent less when adjusted for inflation, according to figures compiled by The Associated Press.

AutoBailoutVisitSo, where the Hell were Senators Levin, and Stabenow? Why did they allow our state to flounder while their man Harry Reid, was in charge? $3 Trillion?

The funding that generally comes from federal gasoline and diesel taxes was up 20 percent over a decade but down 5 percent in inflation-adjusted dollars [happens when .FEDGOV prints money].

The AP analysis also shows that Michigan ranked seventh-lowest among states in per-capita federal transportation funding in 2013 and second-lowest in per-capita overall spending on highways, roads and bridges [why is that?]. Only Georgia spent less per capita.

The same problem that has left the Highway Trust Fund teetering with insolvency [snip]

Go figure. Can you imagine why the Highway Trust Fund is insolvent? Remember, there’s 535 of them all doing the same thing.

is vexing Michigan — people drive less and with more fuel-efficient vehicles while paying per-gallon gas taxes unchanged for two decades. For the last four years, Gov. Rick Snyder and lawmakers have had to divert money from the general fund [snip]

Call it what it is. The diversion or, *stolen* money is a replacement, and an additional tax mostly because a Granholm era boob running MDOT is unaccountable for infrastructure spending, and frivolous railroad schemesmore here – among other wasteful nomenclature frills. Seriously, MDOT has been a documented rogue agency since at least 2006 (yes, guess who?), which oddly enough has ample resources for making videos. Try doing that in the private sector and one would be out of business or, fired, and sued for criminal and/or civil damages.

to ensure the state receives its matching federal transportation money because traditional revenue sources — state fuel taxes and vehicle registration taxes — are lower or stagnant.

Registration taxes are drying up? Well, gee, go figure what happens when Lansing’s Republican Majority loots what isn’t theirs. Went after pensions when it wasn’t necessary? Instantly $10,000,000,000+ flew the coop. Broke the 2007, promise by raising the State Income Tax, which they applied to those pensions. Those two raids alone stole money from folks who have decided to put off vehicle purchases, especially, the retirees who got plundered by Snyder. Look, it ain’t the undischargable student loan debt-slave Millennials who have money. Hell, they can’t even figure out that when borrowing for higher education it effects tuition rates to rise (another cluster**** conversation for another time).

Back on-point.

The Window Dressing of Reverse Racism

Do we really want a third term for a Vice Chair who appears to be more interested in pandering than in outreach?

Since early 2014, there have been ever-escalating smear attacks against our national committeeman, Dave Agema, that have been as predictable as the calendar, in that they’ve occurred, if my memory serves me correctly, during the runup to every national or state committee meeting last year, as well as during the weeks immediately preceding the “fall” state convention (and are now occurring concurrent to the weeks preceding the “spring” state convention four weeks from now). The pattern is also predictable, in that either Ken Braun or Dennis Lennox (occasionally Kathy Hoekstra just for the sake of variety) will get wind (via one of their trolls) of a social media post on Agema’s Facebook page, will then cherry-pick some alleged “money quote” from the source article (or an article buried up to three links deep from that source) and then report that “money quote” as though Agema originally said it . . . and never-you-mind that they can’t be bothered to accurately report what he actually said with regard to why he found something post-worthy. The next step, again ridiculously predictable, is that the three amigos will then use their press credentials to publish opinion pieces, which allegedly-more-credible reporters will then use as source material for front-page “news” stories, which the usual suspects will then use to fuel a smear campaign of manufactured outrage, which the party’s useful idiots and low-information voter bloc will dutifully echo as an ever-increasing crescendo of calls for Agema to step down “for the good of the party.”

Fully detailing this pattern and the miscreants perpetuating it – which I intend to do – is a topic for another day soon. My purpose in mentioning it here is to merely highlight the hypocrisy of selective outrage within the party leadership, specifically in regard to a certain vice chair whose own conduct has been perhaps more offensive than that of the national committeeman for whose resignation she has recently called.

Why Small Business Shall Remain Small

This seems to be on the right track, yes?

So, what happens if HB 5477 now becomes extended by two years, the already sales tax portion is gradually dedicated for road maintenance over same period with Wholesale sales tax increasing to 7% (Rack Price) and MDOT controlling said taxation thereafter?

“the taxpayers are the last place to look”. Sure it is. Folks, it’s all just a Shell Game in Lansing.

Finley: Time is Ripe to Rewrite History

Really, Nolan?

The bill the Senate passed goes now to the House, where the cadre of “no tax hike” Republicans who killed it in the spring remain unconvinced Michigan needs more money for roads.

MORE

Mr. Finley, likes to speak of Rep. Rob VerHeulen (R-Meijer Thrifty Acres), and his bill as if HB 5477 does not exist nor was passed in the House on May 8, 2014.

One more thing for Mr. Finley, who likes to paint fiscally responsible Conservatives as obstructionists…

Just in Time for the Election

Poof! PFM!

The average price of gas in Michigan is $ 3.10 a gallon for regular while the average is $3.06 in the metropolitan Detroit area.

In Monroe, gas has been hovering as low as $ 2.85 this week.

Ms. Hiltz sees the trend in prices declining throughout November and into December, and said it is possible for the state average to drop below $ 3, which hasn’t happened since 2010.

Notice how many in the linked article have been so conditioned that they’re *thankful* gas is around $3 when just a decade ago it was $1.44 a gallon? Sheeple were made to be shorn.

Keep that in mind for the Lame Duck in Lansing, if/when the Nerd is unleashed with his wholesale tax agenda & registration fee hike.

Need a Better Reason to Not Vote for Snyder?

RightMi.com readers cannot say they weren’t warned, and if anyone trusts this guy, then they are irreparably beyond stupid. Also, just another reason why the *professional* Chattering Class‘ endorsements are completely useless.

You Betcha! (16)Nuh Uh.(2)

Of Course he did

I have to hand it to whatever brainiac who Snyder hired to dream up his highly orchestrated overly scripted *town halls* with the wealth of documented lies they bring back to light.

Rick Snyder then:

Rick Snyder now:

Want another doozy of a Snyder lie?

Rick Snyder then:

Rick Snyder now: http://rightmi.com/the-joys-of-obamas-moochercare/

Folks, this is where today there is a growing contingent who see the wisdom of not giving Snyder his “lame duck” term, in which his Progressive agenda will go completely unchecked by just enough legislative losers who run with Snyder’s big government agenda. Is Mark Schauer a loser? Only about a shade paler that of what one can see with a term limited Rick Snyder.

Bottom line. If Conservatives must bird dog our Republican legislators to vote consistent to Party platform and principle, then we can do that just the same with a confirmed Democrat governor as we do with this center-Left abomination named Snyder under the Republican banner, now. Frankly, our task as Conservatives will most likely become easier with removing the facade of “going against their own” without Snyder.

And, before any simpletons start their crap about absolutists, y’all’s can just go park your “No true Scotsman fallacy” bullshit elsewhere. You aren’t welcome here.

Lawlz

Pissant’s unhinged rant of the day.

These extremists are what Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson rightly calls the “Taliban wing” of the GOP.

Ah yes, old Babbling Brooksie is a helluva example.
warning_worlds_oldest_virgin

While the extremists attempt to portray themselves as principled conservatives fighting against what they claim to be Republicans-in-name-only (aka RINOs), the truth is they are the pretenders.

That isn’t to say everyone in the tea party is a conservative pretender.

Far from it, actually.

Unfortunately, the mothers, fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers who filled parks and courthouse lawns four years ago were preyed upon by all sorts of hucksters and grifters, who declared themselves to be the tea party leaders.

They then aligned with extremists, themselves the descendants of the John Birch Society who were rightfully expelled from the conservative movement by Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley Jr. and Michigan’s own Russell Kirk when these three served as the political and intellectual leaders of conservatism.

That’s why political leaders and activists who were the tea party long before the tea party existed — Macomb County’s Leon Drolet comes to mind — [snip]

Bingo! Where it always leads to if one allows a platform to a moronic Millennial.

Ps. Mush-mouth Buckley’s son turned out to be a pile of dung, too.
