Operation Gridlock update

For those of you attending the Operation Gridlock Rally in Lansing today organized by the MICHIGAN CONSERVATIVE COALITION, I just wanted to pass along two items this morning.

The MCC has released a series of guidelines for today’s event (see below).

If you are leaving from Macomb County/Wayne County, Autoworkers for Trump have scheduled to meet up at the corner of 17 Mile Road and Van Dyke at 9:00am. From there, they will head out to Livonia (Stark Road between I-96 and Plymouth Road…look for the Trump signs) to link up with other participants there before heading up to Lansing.

Attendees are strongly encourages to share their experiences/video on social media from today’s rally.

The local media is still displaying a condescending attitude towards anyone who dares question the sage wisdom of Gov. Witless as she orders Michigan into ruin, even when they themselves aren’t sure on what to do.

That been said, they have promised to cover the event.

Please follow the guidelines, so that the media munches on shoe leather as they try to spin this into something that it is not.

Stay safe, everyone.

I am a right wing, conservative, Republican, Baptist Christian. However, I think this gridlock protest is ridiculous. How do you think we will get over this virus? People need to stay home except for essential things. Many hundreds of people in this state are still dying daily. I do not ever agree with her for her policies. However, I believe she is helping to save lives. I live in Romeo and no one is taking it serious. The principal of the high school where I am a custodian thinks the virus is fake. He allows people into the school almost daily. A building we spent days sanitizing. This is serious. Your group needs to quit playing martyr. She is not trying to "get us." She is trying to protect us. The Bible says to obey rules. They are for our protection.

OK, you may be all of those things, but you aren't very concerned with the constitution, so we really have no use for you. I sure as hell don't want you at MY back when the shit hits the fan. Appreciate you calling yourself out.

Protecting us from a deadly virus is not a violation of the constitution. Life is valuable. This is the one thing she is doing right. You should pray that the thousands of protesters don't get infected and take it home to others.

          We'll be fine.

I, like MOST people who attended this afternoon, did follow the guidelines above.

And that has what to do with the price of tea?

Last I checked, the Bill of Rights was still in effect.

And since most people experience no to moderate symptoms, that goes a long way towards helping to build up that herd immunity the "experts" are unwilling to have a go at.

We'll get over this virus just as we've gotten through other viruses in the past.: By quarantining those who are most at risk (i.e. elderly and comorbidities) and allowing everyone else to carry on so that society can function as closely to normally as possible.

In case you've missed it, Michigan just blew a multi-billion dollar hole in its budget, UI is due to run out of cash sometime in June, and in case you've also missed it, most of Downtown Romeo is shut down SOLELY due to Gov. Witless' order. Except for the Speedway, Shell, Mitt TV & ACO Hardware every other business is dying.

Oh, and I almost forgot...every other community in Michigan is equally messed up!

So, if this "isn't out to get us", she's done a damn good job so far.

It is because of idiots like those in Romeo that walk the streets in groups, kids playing soccer at a park in Romeo and kids jumping the fence on the RHS football field to practice sports that the government has to be tough. You people don't think the virus is serious. Almost 400 died in Michigan yesterday. It is serious. Not about your precious rights. It's about life and death.

Have you contrasted this with the other causes of death here in Michigan.

Unless you want to be wrapped in bubble wrap, forcably locked within your own home and being told what you can and cannot eat, drink, smoke, etc, you're going down a path that you won't like where it will take you.

I would agree with you in part. I like to think the protest focused on the incoherent, inconsistent overreach aspects of the Governor's order rather than the need for some quarantine measures at this time. Still, media coverage of the protest was remarkably ugly and dishonest ("Look! Someone is holding a Confederate flag - so they all DESERVE to die!")

That was a disaster waiting to happen! you did nothing but tell these people to go ahead and spread the disease more! I saw people standing together, mind you some with their CHILDREN out there, with no social distance! Then let them do the trail so it was hard for ambulances and health care workers to get back and forth to Sparrow. Have you no common sense, I mean I am fine with your protest, but do it with a well thought out plan!

OK Karen. Check the hysterics. WE didn't do jack. WE didn't 'let' anyone do anything in any way. The Sparrow story is hype, and one side of the road was always open.

This is the result of an out of control governor, period. As for the kids? So what? The common flu is about 1000% more dangerous (that's ten times for the empirically challenged) than this virus. Grandma and Gramps living in a home are not getting visitors until the sun sets anymore under all the orders anyhow.

Which BTW, is sad, because there ARE homes with this already there, and they cannot even get to see family before they check out.

Nothing is stopping the spread of this. Nothing. It is only delayed, tempered, and flattened. It is actually better to have the healthy folks (and our sweet cherubs) exposed and building defenses that will lower the number ultimately who will carry it around.

As for the "I am fine with your protest" comment? It really doesn't matter if you or anyone in government is "fine" with it or not. It is a right that even Gretchen realized (a little late) is beyond her dictatorial powers. She'll try to use it to keep her newfound love alive, but the numbers are and will be flattening more.

This thing has for the most part set the course. Time to open up and get back to work.

See now, in some regions, some might look at you and say "Bless his little heart"

That's about where we are at. It takes a special kind of retardation to not see what is going on. Oh, and don't think I am insulting the developmentally challenged either. You have your own category of 'slow.'

If you think that our rights are not being violated, the schools have failed you. And by default likely every semen spawned recreation of your damaged DNA. you clearly have no cognitive apparatus in operation, and the light is burning at about 2 watts. Speaking as someone who was ACTUALLY there...where were these ambulances, etc. who couldn't get back and forth?

The shoulder lane (or both) were left open.

I'm still going through e-mails,etc this morning from people who are going ONLY on what the media felt was important to tell them.

Before you buy into the 100% Grade-A Industrial Strength Horse Squeeze that tries passing itself off as being "objective", ask someone who was there first...
