Our elected officials continue to fail on the most important part of their jobs.

Is the oath of office even worth administering?

One must wonder when across the country, governors are using presumed powers of emergency to openly violate several sections of the bill of rights with only an “OMG!” from the leadership in the legislature to date. No actions to rescind her emergency powers are on the table, nor are there any ’emergency sessions’ of the legislature scheduled to rectify this mistake.

Government doesn’t exist to protect us from ourselves, though many seem to accept this fact.  It doesn’t exist to tell our business owners how to sell their products, though so many roll over and allow it to happen, and it surely doesn’t exist to tell us how we can worship or assemble.

In fact according to the constitution and the item that seemed of greatest importance to the bill of rights when crafted, was that included in the 1st amendment!  The freedom to assemble, gather, and bring our complaints through process is sacrosanct!

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Could we imagine what the media/press would do, if told they could not report any more?
Right.

And is it not the same?  Are we not being told we no longer have the ability to exercise our rights as GUARANTEED by the 1st amendment?  Why is it that the press is not standing up for the rest of us?

Can the ‘fourth estate’ not understand where one falls, so go the many? I realize it doesn’t take much of an imagination to truly know, but the general malpractice exhibited by even local reporting might be even more telling.

Maybe they just don’t see it?  Too lazy to have real curiosity, those feckless narrative brokers might not even know that there is life outside their freedom-of-the-press component in that most important part, of the (*second) most important document in the entire world!

And I invite those who believe there is is worth in violating our rights to protect us from our grand kids carrying a germ into our homes to explain their theory of how the constitution works?  How correct is it, that we are prevented from entertaining the family on a holy day?

When this is all over, there are government officials who need to be imprisoned for not only bad judgement, but open and callous malfeasance!  When elected, our elected twats take an oath that every one of us should be expecting to be taken seriously.   Specifically:  Whitmer’s oath to uphold the constitution

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of this state, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of Governor, according to the best of my ability. No other oath, affirmation, or any religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust.

I wonder, what might happen if she refused it?

Would that swell the hearts of those who elected her?  Or would there be an uncomfortable feeling?  Or would it be demanded that she accept and proclaim the oath or step aside??

Surely the press would hold her feet to the fire, yes?  Would anyone be at all comfortable?

I doubt it.

So why in the hell would we accept not only the failure of our government to do the ONE thing as described in our declaration: That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,” but to allow this government to abridge and VIOLATE those rights, as-if they were a foreign power bent on subjugation?!!

YES, the ONE thing that government is supposed to do is secure our rights.  It does not give us our natural rights, but frames them for the protection it is supposed to carry out!  And because leaders can become drunk with power, there were specific protections that were assigned as a guide in the Bill of Rights.

It exists for times such as these.  It is the rule book for when shit goes South.

Guess what?

I am embarrassed for this state.  I am embarrassed for the inability of the press to actually report on how we are being abused by our servants.  I am particularly embarrassed that so many who we elect cannot even raise their voices to a level that matters in order to do their ONE job.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of this state, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of [State Senator, Judge, State Representative, County commissioner, Sheriff, dog catcher, etc.] according to the best of my ability. No other oath, affirmation, or any religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust.

Again, which part comes first?

We know.

And when this crisis is over, We will know who doesn’t, or who doesn’t find it ‘worth the fight.’

And we will remind you all often.

*The bible is clearly the most important document in the world.

From my perspective, we have two glaring problems happening simultaneously. Boobus Michiganderus, both private citizens and our public officials, have been so dumbed-down over the years that they're too dense to understand what the word quarantine means- it's for the sick people, not the entire damn population! Stay-at-home and social distancing is a fraud based upon Fake science. On top of that, looks like the 6 feet away goalpost is open for enlarging. Morons.

Which leads us to the other problem, "That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, [FULL STOP]"

Uh-huh, now go check out head-bobbin' Mrs. "It's not a suggestion, it's an order!"

Oooooooo, you go girl! Be all like Grrlpower™ 'n shieeet.

Yep, with scant few exceptions such as, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and she's iffy at best, females don't have the chops to be leaders and even her state is saddled with obvious problems.

Noem said the second component of addressing the situation was what was happening outside the facility, noting they were "dealing with a very diverse workforce there." The state health department was working with interpreters to ensure that social distancing measures and CDC recommendations were clearly understood by all employees.

So solly, you now have the Kung flu.

As George would say, "It's all bullshit folks, and it's bad for you."

    Just in: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/04/michigan-governor-gretchen-whitmer-bans-buying-us-flags-lockdown/

When did reality in this state become like reading The Onion? It would be funny if it all weren't just so damn sad.
