"Eagerly" awaiting the news conference which is set to begin in five minutes.

Let's see how they address the quality of work, or more specifically, lack thereof.

    Well, that was short.

Only two Detroit stations carries the news conference, and both cut away after about 5 minutes.

Interestingly enough, Channel 7 has a graphic titled 'Holiday Tragedy" when they cut back to the local talking head.

So what did I get from the little that I have seen?

Overall higher taxes (thank you Sen. Brandenburg for your input to this shakedown) & vehicle registration fees.

Siphoning away of transportation funds to buses and rail.

Oh, and we get to "take part in the process", by voting for a tax hike in May.

Gee Wally, I thought that this was a time sensitive issue?

So why are we waiting until May to vote on this?

KG, this is just more CPA gimmickry using Team D useful idiots, two bought off majority *leaders* and a slobering liberal press to disseminate a lie.

How the ballot proposal will be marketed to all the *its for the children* mouthbreathers.

      The timing.

      Then, Marsha holds the football.

F**k you, Snyder. The ballot proposal must be defeated.

Actually, it is insulting to legitimate CPA's who actually do some good.

And what gives with the Glenn Beck "whiteboard' rip-off?

They can get a foamboard standee printed up at the local office supply, but no one could do a quick powerpoint so that everyone can see exactly what Snyder/Calley, Richardville, Bolger, Whitmer and Grimmel were shoveling?

They haven't declared sine die yet, so until they pass this shell game, there still is hope.

If not, I'd like to see the 98th Michigan Legislature make it one of their first orders of business to kill this proposal.

Ya, the "whiteboard" thing... sorry, KG, but I see Karl Rove with a whole lot of Jeb Bush's Common Core on it.

Oh, ya, and another thing Modus OpeRandy has been instructed to keep away from Snyder's desk.

I'd love to see the next session of the legislature stand firm on adhering to the "Hastert Rule".

OABTW, I don't think that Richardville's "reluctance" on this issue was just some odd happenstance.

The gas tax projection given for this proposal, $ 0.03 per gallon increase in the first year, presume that retail gas prices stay at their current $ 1.50 per gallon wholesale cost. But if $ 3.25 per gallon wholesale gas returns - a distinct possibility once the Saudis stop flooding the market - Michigan residents will be paying about $ 5.00 per gallon at the pump. This on top of the extra 1 % sales tax on everything else they purchase.

This proposal makes the performance of the Michigan economy even more dependent upon low gas prices. Gas price spikes such as those which occurred during 1973, 1979, and 2006, will bring Michigan's economy to a screeching halt.
