Fortuna Spun her Wheel

Well, this certainly proves to be a wee bit awkward. What’s that? Awkward for me? Oh! No, not for me. No, not at all. Awkward for who, you ask?

The folks who are responsible for the 16.7% Sales Tax Hike ($1.9B) ballot proposal.

But, but, but, “comes to the wrong conclusion,” he says.

Yeah, sure it is. Our eyes are lying to all of us.

“Bottom line up front, mother f**cker – do you have one?,” he says.

I sure do. It must be nice to spin the $1.9B wheel, and walk away with a big Fat ZERO.

“We simply can’t and won’t take the chance of exposing domestic abuse victims to additional violence or intimidation,” Snyder said. “There are certainly some reforms that can improve the way Michigan issues concealed pistol licenses and we support the rights of law-abiding firearm owners, but it’s crucial that we leave in place protections for people who already have endured challenges and abuse.”

Gee, if it were me involved in the legislative process (to be fair, one I believe is more than forthright) or, a legislator, I would’ve wished I had the foresight to see that coming, especially, when the limousine Liberals being dealt with has already demonstrated by previous action that he lives in a bubble world, which is cocooned within a gated Ann Arbor community. And, before the crap starts about what the legislation would or, wouldn’t do – shut the hell up. It came up goose eggs because, well, because … Snyder says so. Finis.

Snyder said there are a number of reforms in Senate Bills 789 and 790 that he supports, and said he wants to work with the Legislature on new bills [snip]

Sure he does. Perhaps the next tax hike the Republican majority wants will be the charm? If it wasn’t for what happened in the lame duck with Senator Green, that question wouldn’t carry much weight but, he validated it as reality by his extraordinarily poor decision making skills. Gambling on liberals is never smart. Gambling on a liberal under the Republican banner? Well, is Snyder’s $1.9B tax hike lesson learned, chumps? I sure as Hell hope so.

Exit question: those involved with the big Fat ZERO, want to get ready to ply your time HERE?

mike-greenjpg-ccb361bb646ab3b5It’s called redemption. It’s also called cleaning up the mess you created.

Another bottom line. 5 days a week, 7 hours a day, the MEA has a $300M+/year incentive to be propagandizing little mush-minds to cajole their parents into voting for this crap.

Senator Green did not "sell" his vote on the road tax proposal to get SB 789 passed. Just ask him. He will tell you that he was always a yes vote for the road tax proposal. I'm not saying this is better, especially for a Republican, but it does make more sense.

Why would Richardville call a vote if the votes were not there? Remember, the first vote for the road tax failed by 1 vote. Green's vote.

Green withheld his vote because he got word that the Senate was going to adjourn suddenly without the House voting on 789 like he had been promised all night. So he withheld his yes vote until the leadership did what they were saying they were going to do. Then Green voted yes like he had always planned to do.

Beat Green up all you want for voting yes for the road tax package, but leave SB 789 out of it.

Now that you've finally put your point out, what are your solutions? Write off the next 4 years and let Snyder get away with being anti-gun?

So, the vote as it developed on the fly by Twitter, on Senate TV feed, and in-depth later by reporters was a massive orchestration by David Eggert, Paul Egan, Kathleen Gray, Chad Livengood, and Jonathan Oosting?

In another, Sen. Mike Green, R-Mayville, at first voted no on the sales tax hike, but switched his vote when the bill was reconsidered after the House passed a bill he sponsored eliminating concealed weapons gun boards and transferring that authority to the Michigan State Police and county clerks.

Senator Green, "played ball" by spinning Fortuna's wheel with Snyder's $1.9B tax hike scheme, and lost - a big Fat ZERO. Crashed and burned in flames. Shall I ask what other deals your pro-gun legislator may have bartered with to move such legislation? Shall I, and along with others, begin vetting all votes by legislators who sponsor such legislation?

Solutions? For our Snyder dilemma, well, that horse left the stable November 5, so, the point is moot. Solutions? The embers of a big Fat ZERO now smoldering at everyone's feet is this 16.7% Sales Tax Hike - 30% Registration Fee Hike - ultimately a 200% Tax Hike on Fuels ballot proposal. Again, this has been pointed out, what are you going to do about that?

CS, nothing in your quote contradicts what I said. Why would a Senator admit to something that is, in my opinion, worse?

You are making a jump that is unsupported by facts. I admin, one I initially made too. I later found out that jump was wrong.

So if the point is moot, then why are you bringing it up? Other than to perpetuate a false premise.

Hammer Green all you want for supporting the road tax package, I know I have. As far as Snyder, I was one of the people publicly opposing him for the election.

It sounds to me like you want to do nothing to help, yet you want to be there to stick your finger in everyone's eye when something goes wrong.

There is nothing false in any of what I wrote. Get a clue, already.

Gotta say Tom, Snyder cannot be trusted. Green did trust leadership, but Snyder has ZERO empathy with gun rights folks.

Snyder is now off the leash.

I can't say anyone ever trusted Snyder and sending a bill to him is not trusting him, it is how the legislative process works. It would be awesome if we could have sent the bill to Schuette for signing.

There are and were no other options. Do not confuse what happened as trust.

With much less fanfare, Governor Snyder also vetoed Sen. Casperson's SB78, which removed 'biodiversity' as a DNR mandate for managing forests. This would have given the Yoopers a shot at some form of economic development in a region where the State locks up most of the available land. Snyder endorsed the environmental wackos who have a positively feudal vision of the U.P.: vast tracts of virgin forest maintained for the gratification of the select few, broken only by occasional small enclaves of peasants living a rude, subsistence existence.

With Snyder no longer facing an election, we are seeing his utter and complete contempt for the plight of average Michiganders. He is becoming our Louis XVI or Ceausescu, complete with the gated community.

The "wildlands project" is alive and well under this RINO governor.
