Vote No On Proposal 15-1

Gas Taxes.. say what?

Oh that’s right, it didn’t pass.

It didn’t pass, the voters said “no,” but what the heck.  From the official propaganda unit of the MDoT

October 10, 2016 — The City of Ishpeming and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) marked the opening of two new modern roundabouts at a ceremony this morning, bringing the summer’s $4 million major construction investment to a close.

“MDOT and the City of Ishpeming collaborated in outstanding fashion to improve a longstanding safety problem and access management challenge in the City of Ishpeming,” said Aaron Johnson, manager of MDOT’s Ishpeming Transportation Service Center. “These modern roundabouts bring a safe and efficient transportation solution to US-41 and the city, and provide a wonderful new gateway to the community.”

Yet, Studley was too Cowardly to Push Prop 15-1?

Never forget, and never take your eyes off the slippery Dick.

What is it that SOB’s in Lansing, do not understand about no new taxes?

Look, as long as Kirk Steudle is in charge of MDOT, which has the money to waste on stupidity like this, our legislature has not done its job.

Time for part time legislature because, 51.4¢ a gallon on gas, and 55.6¢ a gallon on diesel: http://www.api.org/state-taxes/michigan.pdf

The Final Word On Proposal 15-1

ballot2Tomorrow morning the polls open for those who have yet to electorally weigh in on the largest tax increase that Michiganians have ever had the opportunity to give themselves.

We have chronicled the multiple failures of the package here in nearly 80 articles, specifically referencing the proposal itself and dozens of other articles leading up to it.  Our efforts over the last five months have demonstrated that the overall issue in Michigan’s roads situation is one of complete dysfunction. In fact we’ve shown the proposal is hardly about roads alone, though that aspect is the only legitimate premise under which the proposal is being sold.

Aside from the convoluted language and constitutionally flawed (and with predictably BAD outcomes) package, it is a cacophony of noisy promises to Michigan’s recipients of taxpayer largess.  Townships, schools, ‘the working poor’ and the road builders themselves all seem to have a dog in the fight if one was to buy into the governor’s hype.

It all comes at a cost, and it appears the taxpayers are wising up.

Lucido Clear On Proposal 15-1 Power Grab

Why would we need to tax ourselves more at the pump or otherwise???

Don’t even start with me on government honeypots.

There’s a problem with those big ol cash reserves set up for specific issue.  They WILL get raided for something else someday.  Recall the tobacco settlement which has been re-purposed at least a couple of times since the award.   Remember the BCBS Three and a half $Billion of ratepayer/Taxpayer (by reason of contract with state)  money that has disappeared.

Peter Lucido says not necessary. While most lawmakers are cowering in fear lest someone learn how they stand, he is as clear as glass on the issue. In this case, its a $20,000,000,000.00 pile of dough that earns nearly a billion a year?    Given the planned obsolescence of such a fund in the wake of ‘insurance reform,’ why on earth would we NOT consider its use for paying down current and immediate needs.

$20 billion? holy guacamole.

Oh and someone stand watch over Rick’s ‘stash’ ok?

Say No To Proposal 15-1 Rally April 15

Opposing proposal 15-1 are the overtaxed citizens from BOTH sides of the spectrum.

Traverse City-Protest

Photo from actual Traverse City Protest.

It could possibly be an unusual gathering April 15.

Given the fact that most conservative Republicans and the left-of-center Democrats agree that the May 5th proposal is an unmitigated disaster, its possible they might actually walk side by side at 11AM in Front of the Traverse City Post Office on Tax Day. If one watches the polling results, follows through by reading the comments on the major media pro 15-1 shill attempts, one might walk away thinking the only the political class centrists are the ones who really really want this garbage.

Holding breath on working together? Not entirely.

However, what a treat it would be to shove this bad medicine down the throat of the cronyist Snyder and his milquetoast minions.  The mantra of there being “no plan B” is worn out already.  Putting taxpayers into a corner might elicit thoughts of the wolverine that is threatened once this play is done.  Higher taxes hurt the left as much as the right, and passage of this boondoggle is a constitutionally guaranteed increase of taxes every single year.

Where:  In front of Traverse City Post Office on Union and State St.
When:   11 am till 1 pm or as long as you can.  April 15th tax day (Depending on size we may walk to the Parkway and Union St.)     Appropriate signs please.

If you are in the area on April 15 at 11AM, join 15-1 opponents to say NO to higher taxes.

Why is Prop 15-1 a $2 Billion Dollar Tax Hike?

I don’t have time to mince words today so, I’ll let the headline speak for itself.

Media Muddles Magnitude of May Tax Hike Vote

Speaking of muddlers, it’s the parasite from Monroe, who wouldn’t go away.

allah Shazam! Yes, here’s how they voted on SB 509 and SB 1149 (Take note of names alleged Taxed Enough Already folks). More background here. Furthermore, good riddance to an Engler era affirmative action toady. Downside is Meekhof replaced that with a Richardville toady.

That said, Governor Spanky presented his $54 Billion dollar budget yesterday.

Ps. with respect to the MCC article above, well, Jim Stamas is a documented a**hole.

Conservative Creativity @ Operation Gridlock

After going through about 2.1Gb of video & images (and dealing with some work and home issues over the weekend), I finally whittled things down a little to give anyone who wasn’t able to go to Lansing on Wednesday another perspective on how things went.

Ladies and gentlemen: the story you are about to see is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

That out of the way…

Gretchen Wants to be a One Term Governor

How unstable can one possibly be to not heed the warning of a 80% rejection from a few years ago to blunder on with a bigger and more dubious fuel tax hike of 45 cents per gallon on top of the last tax hike? Michiganians have no appetite for handing over more of their hard earned money to Lansing, which has been completely irresponsible with its contracts, especially, with favoring the union parasites that endorsed Whitmer. This women is pure evil and, she’s using school-age children as her political agenda hostages as well.

Sorry, deary, this ain’t the vagina monologues anymore. Gretchen’s station is to sign a responsible balanced budget and, honor her campaign promises (Whatever the hell they may have been), which did not include disrupting children’s education.

If Gretchen is smart she will sign the damn budget presented to her and, fix the damn roads with the increased funding provided by the Republican Majority without any tax increase. Then again, there is no trusting a snake who has lied throughout her campaign.

Ps. SML Shirkey, Speaker Chatfield, it would behoove you both to ignore this duplicitous twit as proven over the years he’s little more than a windsock as long as tax monies are tossed his way.
