Yes I Pray

michigan-capitolIts hard not be  callous sometimes.

I think it is getting harder actually, given the rampant stupidity exhibited by our political class, and promoted by a media populated by ideologues and vermin.  The boy who saw that the emperor has no clothes has had to scream it so often that he must now feel like a pariah being scorned as the boy who cried wolf.

And the wolves dear reader, are here.

If you are in Lansing today, take a minute to stop by the capitol.

Details which popped in the ol mailbox this morning are below the fold.

Franklin Graham Decision America Prayer Rally in Lansing and Day Under the Dome Event – Oct. 4!

As part of the Decision America Tour 2016, Franklin Graham, President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, will be hosting a Prayer Rally in Lansing on October 4th. Intended for all people wishing to pray and reflect on our nation and its upcoming presidential election, the event will be held on the East Steps of the Capitol Building from Noon – 1 PM. No candidates or political parties will be endorsed.

More information about the event can be found on the Decision America Tour Michigan webpage. In conjunction with the Prayer Rally, there will also be a Day Under the Dome event in Lansing as well, focused on restoring the foundation of the United States. The event will take place in the Lansing Center from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and will include presentations from some of my legislative colleagues, Prof. William Wagner, and Mr. James Muffett.

Dr. Tim Schmig will also be leading tours at the Capitol later in the day at 2:45 PM and 3:45 PM . More information can be found on the Day Under the Dome webpage.

We hope to see you there at this important Lansing event!

Any idea of (exactly) what the prayers offered will actually consist of?

I ask due to the fact that many prayers involving Lansing/the Capital seem to be centered around (of late) no-vote-of-the-people-required pension obligation bonds (to be issued before 2018) and for the 'annointed' to ride off in to the sunset at the expense of our children's future.

We were asked to show up in Lansing 4 years ago to be physical fodder for/encounter over 10,000 angry individuals to push a narrative of one black man selling hot dogs being physically attacked (instead).

It would be nice to know that we are showing up to hear Drs. and professors (not to mention ministers) praying that (similarly) gray-haired individuals don't walk off (laughing) with our state and local treasuries sent to a forwarded address.

Again, it might be beneficial to participate and actually discover first hand what goes on at any particular event.

I was there under the exact same circumstances in 2012, Jason.
Nobody willing to say anything of consequence or show up to fight for it both before and after the election. We were assaulted under the direct supervision of the largest security force in recent Michigan history complete with helicopters buzzing overhead...remember?

We already HAVE 'local' ministers unwilling to pray over or upon the most egregious acts of our day.
To ask people to travel that distance (again, why we ask TeaPartiers to simply give us 'blow by blows' at their local, regional or state MIGOP country club backslapper events) to pray "non-politically" is no different than Glenn Beck accusing 9-12-09(ers) of 'absurdity' while insisting that we all travel (again) to D.C. months later for 'his' strictly regimented all-star preacher sermons.

Here's a prayer for those who attend minus any idea what we would all be traveling to pray about concerning the devil in our midsts:

"Lord, please send to RightMI. and all Michiganders a guest author explaining conservative silence surrounding not only pension obligation bond generational theft in 2012 but **more importantly** the ADDITION of "health care" bonding previously not possible but through (again) the complete silence of Michigan TeaParty conservatives since that time..."
        http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(3cqjfvt1lqaj202woeeexmuu))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=mcl-141-2518
"...please also strike down the movement in Detroit, Kalamazoo and other municipalities to use private money to both prop up and enable these unholy generation robbing bonds to market while local control of our cities and towns further suffers by the way of the exact same scheme and funding.." Amen.

Now 'that' is a prayer offered up by a doctor, professor or even minister worth traveling to Lansing for.

Don't hold your breath, kids (your local minister isn't even daring to go up against your local school board in your own kiddie bathroom...let alone 'Glenn Beck style' on the steps of your Capital).

"I've never seen this many people gathered in Lansing," said Matt Madock of Michigan Conservative Coalition. "Ever. Nothing even close..."

I am really beginning to believe that the 10,000+ angry, destructive and physically assaultive Michiganders that were encountered **not that long ago** on this same Capital lawn was indeed nothing but a 'bad dream' for Michigan Tea Partiers.
Dec. 11th, 2012 (**exactly 4 years ago**)...same place...same dire election year situation...yet a snapshot in time made much worse (now) by apathy/inaction involving Michigan conservatives refusing to ever march back there AGAIN...if not for a prayer session.

Wasn't this 'strict' type of patriotic rally indeed Glenn Beck's "solution" to the "embarrassing" 9.12.09 Washington D.C. rally attendees which he blasted immediately afterwards? Funny, as I was just as honored to march at the latter as I was to be assaulted with my fellow Michiganders at Right To Work (where my local Tea Party dared not tread).

Obviously, BOTH political parties accomplished what they set out to do when they (intentionally) tore down those tents, terrorized everybody surrounding (or in) them and (most importantly) played the 'victim' to the entire world afterwards.

    Their message:
"Don't come back to Lansing unless your hands are folded in front of you...or you'll 'leave' with your arms crossed!"

At the very least we can all tell our grandchildren that we 'tried' (via our local flash mobs on our friendly street corners).

The looming question with 2 weeks to go and the exact same power structured lame duck (yet even worse) is whether they will ever believe us.
