Why not? They’ve Already Bastardized the “C Word”

No, not that “c word”. I’m talking about the word Conservative, as in, anything under the sun now claims they are one. So, naturally, Lansing’s 50 shades of gray Majority has nothing better to do other than promulgate the usage of Eric Arthur Blair’s NewSpeak.

Michigan lawmakers are looking to remove the terms “mental retardation” and “mentally retarded” from state law.

The legislation in Lansing incorporates some recent recommendations from a mental health commission appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder. The bipartisan bills would strike references to outdated language such as “retarded” from various statutes and instead use terms such as “developmentally disabled” or “intellectually disabled.”

Good God. The ignorance is thick.

“You are a slow learner, Winston.”
“How can I help it? How can I help but see what is in front of my eyes? Two and two are four.”
“Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.”

Yet, Boobus Michiganderus seems perfectly content with their elected on the clock retards ruling over them.

Retarded is simply a word. It was hardly a word designed to degrade, but rather to describe based on the actual meaning of the word. To "slow" is to "retard", thus slow learning is retarded.

Its not an insult but a descriptive of a condition present in some children and some adults. It also describes timing, and slowing of other processes that has nothing to do with people.

The over sensitivity out there is astounding.

Yet another of a many good reasons why we need a part-time legislature. Wonder where Pirate Roger Kahn of the "talk like a pirate day" resolution fame was for this plunge? This debunks the notion that a part-time legislature wouldn't attract the best and brightest minds!
