Land Interview

Terri Lynn Land’s team has not run the best campaign.

There is a group that is appropriately attacking Gary Peters for his alignment with the ACA, Obama and FAILED liberal policies, but sadly, the pandering done by the land campaign has hurt the very real possibility of taking over the US Senate this year. It has also done more to suppress conservative voting in Michigan, and might well have its own negative ‘coattails’ when added to those of the governor, who cannot champion liberal causes fast enough.

There are some bright spots however. The video interview by MLIVE below shows a more energetic Land, though they still cannot get the ‘replace’ part of the ACA repeal process out of her head. From “Ballot Bash” at MLIVE:

Of course, many folks think that short of the miracle of resurrection, this campaign is dead.

It’s done. Stick a fork in her US Senate Campaign.

In a largely self-funded campaign that has adopted the unique strategy of avoiding contact with the voters as much as humanly possible, the running comedy of the republican-anointed candidate for US Senate had taken yet another hit this week.

And who is jumping ship this time might surprise you.

Give ‘em Hell, Kerry!

One of the highpoints from multiple outlets in the local media last night was the announcement from a certain incumbent US Representative candidate against a certain foreclosure king, some democrat (and maybe a Libertarian).

Okay, it’s kind of hard to tease this one.

Yes, it is official: Kerry Bentivolio WILL be running as a write-in candidate in the November 4th General.

It doesn’t mean that there isn’t more to add.

Gosh! They Ask

OK Teach. This is what your dues pay for.

Why is the MEA losing members hand over fist?

Could it be because even sans a single debate between Gary Peters and Terri Lynn Land, they pick Peters; the Democrat?  And without a hug fest tournament with Rick Snyder and Mark Schauer, they choose to embrace The Democrat over the fake Republican.  And lacking a single face to face political death match between Democrat Phil Belfy and ..um liberal, Wayne Schmidt, the choice is Democrat.  Even Jerry Cannon, a Democrat, gets the love while Republican Dan Benishek is strangely absent from the MEA ‘preferred’ collection below.

MEA-Dems

The Traverse City MEA office adorned with signs of a singular political plank

Naw..  The appearance of the MEA office as a branch office of the local Democrat party is purely coincidental.

Ugh. Must We Drag Her Across?

Because her handlers don't know how to message, and her pandering isn't being bought.

…by the company they keep.

Chairman B.S. and the rest of Team-“r” might want to pull back on the mutual admiration society they kludged together and reach for a bottle of Maalox®.

Things aren’t shaping up too well in the fantasy world they created for voters this November.

On second thought, skip the Maalox® and go straight to the Prilosec OTC ®.

So what happened now?

Sunday Open Thread – After Convention Edition

Good morning. Start the conversation.

The convention is over.

west-jasonAs usual, there is much to talk about as those of us who attend, rest up, decompress, etc.   Snyder got his ‘conservative’ to run with again, the U of M regent race mixed it up a little differently than some might have expected, and there is a renewed impetus to get behind Terri Lynn Land.

A quick summary of my own thoughts

  • Snyder-Calley yuck ticket.  Missed opportunity and a race to watch (shades of Romney; w/6 million sitting on hands) in disappointment.
  • Land moved to top of ticket and should stay away from embracing the homophile agenda or risk losing remaining conservatives.
  • Ruth Johnson is still THIS VOTER’s top of ticket.
  • U of M ticket construct may have made it possible for MiGOP to win Regent races as well as assist in higher ups (reverse coattails)
  • Sakwa Foster Ticket may even do well this time.

I will try to elaborate tonight or tomorrow.

Thoughts?

Land Making Potholes for a smooth Gary Peters Victory

The cognitive dissonance is just staggering.

“Detroit is central to our state. It’s very important, it’s the home of the auto industry. As Detroit is successful the whole state is successful.”

What better way to convey that message than by doing it with a discontinued niche vehicle built in Texas, by a corporation headquartered in Illinois?

And seriously, is it possible this dweeb is so out of touch, along with the rest of the Schostak Party apparatchik, that they do not know they all are being laughed at?
