Credit Where Due

We applaud our Attorney General for opposing Obama's illegal acts.

Ilegal_AliensMichigan is a border state.

We have also been blessed with planned migration of illegal children, and causing what I believe to be an outbreak of disease we have not seen in decades.  Then taking the immigration action the fraud-in-chief has perpetrated into account, its about damned time we do something as a state to fight back. Its not like we haven’t been encouraging it, right?

Yup, Its bad enough our congressional delegation hasn’t done JACK.  But I guess a limit was finally reached in Lansing.  From an Attorney General’s Office release:

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette today joined a lawsuit brought by attorneys general and governors from 20 other states to challenge the President’s recent unilateral executive order on immigration.

“America deserves a hopeful immigration policy. Throughout our history, America has provided a beacon of hope across the world. But the President’s unilateral executive order on immigration, bypassing Congress, is constitutionally flawed,” said Schuette.

The States’ complaint was filed by Texas in Federal District Court and was immediately followed by a request for a preliminary injunction. The multistate coalition includes Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Good start.

Give ‘em Hell, Kerry!

One of the highpoints from multiple outlets in the local media last night was the announcement from a certain incumbent US Representative candidate against a certain foreclosure king, some democrat (and maybe a Libertarian).

Okay, it’s kind of hard to tease this one.

Yes, it is official: Kerry Bentivolio WILL be running as a write-in candidate in the November 4th General.

It doesn’t mean that there isn’t more to add.

{More after the fold}

You Betcha! (20)Nuh Uh.(6)

Sure. Why Not?

Conservatives may have a choice in the 11th Congressional district after all.

Kerry_BentivolioNothing says I love you like “I’m not going anywhere, thank you very much.”

David Trott has a few extra bucks lying around I am sure.  The foreclosure king’s self funded primary netted him a win over under-financed Kerry Bentivolio in the August primary.  But what the heck, Kerry still has signs, and is an incumbent congressman.  Its not a stretch to say that he COULD pull off a write in win, if people can learn how to spell B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O in time for the general election.

MLIVE is reporting:

He told MIRS on Monday that he and his family will write in his name on the ballot in November and that he is still considering filing for an official write-in campaign.

Write-in candidates in Michigan have until Oct. 21 to file declaration of intent forms for the November election.

“I’m trying to decide whether to send my opponent a congratulations or receipt for the purchase of the 11th Congressional District,” Bentivolio told MIRS.

This guy is OK in my book.

Take Off Eh?

Hey you hosers wanna thrown me a vote?

We got the bacon, eh?

Many of you might recall the fictional Canadian brothers from the “Great White North” sketch on Second City Television.  Bob and Doug McKenzie drinking beer and sporting some crazy tooks, right?  Then there is Rob Ford, who is interesting enough in real life to have attracted the non-stop attention of late night variety shows for the last two years.

???????????????????????Now imagine if they were running for office .. in the united states.

What if I told you that a for real Canadian resident was on the ballot for a Michigan congressional seat?

Meet Jim Casha PO Box 308 Norwich, ON N0J1P0 Jim served in Lansing

welcome to bizarro world.

as an aside..  This gives me a laugh out loud.  Former 8th congressional district candidate from Lincoln Park, now running for the 1st?

RightMi.com Voting Recommendations Part 1

Suggestions for Michigan's congressional seats, Governor & Lt Governor, AG, SOS, and Prop 14-1

For the August 5th 2014 Republican Primary

First Congressional District – Dan Benishek vs. Alan Arcand

Rightmi.com recommendation is for Alan Arcand.

We have described in other articles here of the current incumbent’s inability to understand the power of congress. Elected as a ‘Tea Party’ candidate Dan Benishek failed on all levels of political activity, and fell in line with the worst of establishment Republicans earning the next to lowest conservative rating from the Heritage foundation of all Michigan’s Republicans, only second to noted RINO Fred Upton.

Arcand-CarBenishek’s service to the VA should have given him an especially good look at the inner workings of the VA, and as oversight for the last few years, it seems he is at least as culpable as the administration that Republicans are targeting on this issue. This neglect of our veterans would bite him in November when facing retired two star general Jerry Cannon who will capitalize on it. Democrats are COUNTING on Benishek being the GOP candidate.

Arcand on the other hand offers a fresh chance for Republicans to get it right. As a disabled vet, he takes the opposition tactic off the table. He understands Congress’ role as defined by the constitution, would not be afraid to withhold money from an out of control administration that has already threatened Upper Peninsula residents on the electrical grid alone.

Second Congressional District – Bill Huizenga vs. No Candidate

RightMi.com has no recommendation.

What A Big Baby

Being bullied by out-of-council bar fests is NOTHING compared to what goes on in DC.

After 5 months, Paul Mitchell decided he couldn’t handle the political nature and pressure of a lowly St. Clair City Council seat.

Whoo wheee!

Paul Mitchell in may of 2008, was fed up with council members who wouldn’t support his road millage (this while the banks were just starting to show cracks at the seams from declining property values) and talked behind his back.  Those meanies made him send a letter of resignation to then Mayor Bill Cedar, to inform him he was taking his marbles and going home.  He wrote regarding a millage discussion on the council:

“I believe resignation is the best course of action for me in light of my experiences in almost 5 months on council. ..”

“… several council members would support (some reluctantly) a community survey and strategic planning at an open meeting, but then have separate private conversations ..”

FIVE WHOLE MONTHS – He resigned because they talked about him and his millage planning (tax increase) behind his back. (read the rest, and in its entirety)

BuySeatReally?  Is that all it takes to scare him off?  Something that (right or not) happens in every single community every single day.  Something that would be better served by staying on and making THEIR existence more miserable.  Transparency is not served well with a side order of quitter’s soup.  Woof.

Our message to Mr Mitchell?

Toughen up puss-cake.  If you are going to buy yourself a seat in the US Congress you better damned well have the fortitude to handle the fact that most every person you speak with in DC is hiding something.

Truth.

Annette Kirk Weighs In On The Fourth Congressional District

ConservativeMind_cover-202x292If I had my Druthers, the best man for a seat in Congress is the guy willing to take a few arrows, and guard the purse a little better than all those before him. (or her)

There are certain folk who I have no question would be outstanding legislators, yet cannot muster the financial resources enough to pay for 30 seconds of air time. They have a great message that resonates with constitutional types.  Those folks have a clear understanding of this ‘Republic’ we are a part of.  One of them is THIS guy whom I personally believe is as solid a conservative as they come.

Then there are OTHERS who certainly have the resources, but no history, and frankly seem to have no message other than “I am a conservative” (and play an accordion, shoot crossbows, etc.) Yeah, One particular guy has CASH, and piles of it to work with. And anyone who thinks money can’t fake out Republicans in primary elections has never heard of Rick Snyder.

There is an another candidate who has impressed the wife of Russell Kirk, author of “the Conservative Mind” sufficiently, that she has written an op-ed endorsement exclusive for RightMi.Com

FreedomWorks Mi Score Card

FreedomWorks Issues Its 2014 Key Votes Scorecard.

A reliably conservative watchdog, FreedomWorks reflects the views of many conservative and tea types

Not surprisingly, certain lawmakers scored higher than their supposedly ideological brothers.  We have seen the squishy unprincipled selling out of the USA for far too long to not expect it to be revealed in this type of scoring.
