Now, how do you suppose THAT got there?
One of my sources tipped me off to an interesting turn of events last night regarding Prop 1.
{More below the fold}
While attending a city council meeting in Eastpointe last night, my source told me that there were a rather large number of these lying about on a display rack next to other city related material.
When it was brought to the attention of the elected officials at the meeting, only one person knew anything about it, while the others either didn’t notice (or just hoped that others didn’t).
On the plus side, when they were told to remove them, my source was assured that was the only area in which they could be found. What was left was promptly pulled from the rack and dumped into the trash at the end of the meeting.
Now, before someone starts thinking to themselves: “Well, that’s just absolutely fantastic, KG! Why are you telling me and not reporting it to the Michigan Sec. of State?”
My answer to that: Just ask this man how that process is playing out.
Look, when the other side gets desperate and starts to “accidentally” leave behind campaign literature supporting their cause within public buildings in order to give them a sense of legitimacy, that doesn’t exactly bode well for success of their campaign.
To anyone who may be stopping into your local government building to conduct any business over the next few days; I’d advise that everyone keep a sharp eye out at your local government buildings for any other material that might “accidentally” get left behind.
I doubt that this is an isolated incident, nor is it the last before May 5th.
Yup. They are desperate. All checks in the system have been turned off, and 'fair-play' is out of the question.
Good post KG
Interesting thing to note that election law specifically states that (from MCL 168.941):
Just saying...
Do you honestly think that said "peace officers" would actually act consistent with MCL 168.941? Given that BOTH the A.G. (the "Chief Law Enforcement Officer") AND the S.O.S. (the "Chief Elections Officer") took ZERO action on the GoverNerd's blatant violation -- in spite of them both being present -- we can safely assume Senior has it right; the backup system of checks and balances are non-functional, and our only safeguard is the few who are actively vigilant.
There is someone I know who is somewhat considering a run for Sheriff in 2016 that would be willing to put this into effect..
Here's to hoping they run.
I'll bother getting excited when "somewhat" becomes "campaign paperwork filed."
Oh, you wouldn't be the only one either.
Let's just say that if they ran and won, concealed pistol free zones would be irrelevant as well..
*prods said individual who I know is reading this comment*
Only if willing to arrest local LEO who will enforce those zones, otherwise, dream on.
It is interesting that you bring this up.
I asked about that this am.
I was told that their Public Safety Director was in attendance at that meeting.
'Hubris' is a word best served with 'Authority.'
