Coming Out Swinging

Bill Schuette is immediately ready to face down the failed ideas of the left.

The left is bereft of ideas.

Well, maybe not ‘bereft’, but the ideas they have are generally failed attempts at creating equal outcomes instead of promoting equal opportunity.  Socialism, a well documented catastrophe of civilization’s epoch is now the new norm for the Democrat party.  The tragedy of the ‘best intentions’ has no equal in ways of starving and inciting misery in otherwise viable populations.

Venezuela is easily offered up as the latest misadventure of re-distribution.  Million Plus percentage inflation, pets on plates, and political corruption that would make the bolsheviks of old blush with envy.

Yet there are people in Michigan who still idealize such ‘planned society’.  They exist primarily in the Democrat party, and their newest flag bearer is not shy about pandering to the promises-that-can-never-be-kept in order to gain power.

Bill Schuette, having earned the nomination of the Republican party is wasting no time challenging the nominee of the Democrats.  In a press release today he appears confident that a comparison of her record and rhetoric will expose the regressive policies of those who once upon a time preferred to be called ‘progressive.’ He proposed a minimum of three televised debates with State Senator Gretchen Whitmer.

Schuette, the Republican nominee for governor who won a four-way primary contest with more than 50% of the vote, says ensuring multiple debates take place is the best-case scenario for Michigan voters, especially the wider general election audience of voters who are now presented with a clear choice of moving forward or going back.

“Michigan families deserve to know the records of the candidates for governor and have a true sense of where the candidates are likely to steer Michigan in the future,” said Schuette.  “I am sure Senator Whitmer agrees that conducting at least three debates is the right thing to do and I am looking forward to it.”

The Schuette campaign has contacted the Whitmer camp to initiate the debate negotiation process.  Schuette’s proposal is to conduct a minimum of three televised debates, with at least one in the Detroit media market, one in the Grand Rapids media market, and additional debates in the Flint, Lansing and/or Traverse City media markets.

Three debates minimum.

There is much to crush in the platform of the Democrat party.  But effectively doing so means their leftist pablum must be continually repudiated until the low information voters can understand.

We hope to see the gloves come off guv.

Early and often.

    "Three debates minimum.", eh?

Schuette (more than likely his handler) best be careful for what he wishes for?

Debates aren't exactly his strong suit!

He blew us off in Macomb.

He stiffed everyone up in Traverse City.

And if the Whitmer people really want to turn this around and have it blow up in Schuette's face like an Acme Dynamite Kit, they can steadfastly insist that the Detroit & Flint/Lansing debates take place in this forum only.

Based solely on Schuette's record to date, this is more a like swing and a miss.

And when you do that three times...

They might insist, but there would be reciprocal venue choices as well.

The prior debate misses were as I pointed out, a campaign decision based on what he thought would work best. Apparently, it did. They still did several anyhow, and even alongside the kooky Dems.

In the general, there is a different paradigm. He could paint Whitmer as Ocasio-lite, and as you may know, while Dem candidates are OK with it, Dem voters are running from the tag 'socialist'

All Team "d" would need is just one of those locales to provide them with all of the clips they'll need for the General.

And while it may have been a "strategic" campaign decision to attend fundraisers over debates, rest assured, I'm not the only voter who hasn't forgotten this. The Schuette Campaign will need to do a hell of a lot of convincing to Conservatives where is priorities are actually at before November.

You'd bitch and moan even if you were hung with a new rope. Go sit on the sidelines with Bill Kristol and Evan McMullin.

The rest of us Michiganians have an election to win.

        That's not going to happen.

Off the top of my head you've got James, Leonard and that democrat party backed VNP proposal to deal with.

Schuette can try to make it up to the Conservatives who were snubbed in the months leading up to the Primary.

Given his attitude to date, it'll be interesting to see how he doesn't go about pissing them off even more in the process!

It's the proposals on the ballot come this November which will bring out the pot heads, never voters and anti-constitutionals. All in all, conservatives may be out numbered that not even a Trumper can overcome.

Alarms need to go out NOW. What I witnessed on election day with a massive, extremely well-organized write-in campaign, leads me to believe that the booboo of Morgan's nomination petitions was anything but; but, rather an extremely deliberate, well-orchestrated political coup.
