MiCPAC – Janine Hansen

Thought provoking analysis on the possibility of an Article 5 convention in our time.

Janine Hansen is the Nevada Chair for Eagle Forum, and is their national constitutional issues chair.

She is a constitutional expert who heads up a task force to address the misguided move toward a constitutional convention.  In this video, she speaks on the status of the Article 5 convention effort, and also on the National Popular Vote.

Its a half hour well spent.

More videos from the 2016 MiCPAC coming soon.

Very Sad News

Scalia 1

Associate U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin G. Scalia was found dead this morning at Cibolo Creek Ranch, during a quail hunt in the Big Bend region south of Marfa, Texas. Natural causes are presumed.

Justice Scalia was the author of District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the landmark decision which held that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution applies to federal enclaves and protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes.

Justice Scalia was the most prominent advocate of originalism, the principle of constitutional law interpretation which finds the Constitution’s meaning was fixed at the time of enactment.  This philosophy has challenged the ‘living document‘ fraud promoted by lefties determined to reshape America in their socialist vision.

Justice Scalia’s legal wisdom informed innumerable Michigan court decisions and guided a generation of liberty oriented lawmakers across our entire country as well.  Historians will rank him with Oliver Wendell Holmes as the greatest two intellects ever seated on the U.S. Supreme Court.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Maureen Scalia,  and his nine children.  A terrible loss.

His passing will create a a legal (and political) vacuum, but for now let us thank God for allowing us 79 years of this great legal mind and wish him God Speed.

Michigan’s PC Christmas

Governor Rick Snyder once again uses the generic happy holidays to wish our citizens ...well .. nothing.

Its not illegal for Michigan’s governor to wish folks a “Merry Christmas.”

The ACLU has probably fought that battle before and lost. And In Texas, the governor signed a bill in 2013 clearing the decks for public institutions in that state to freely express the real reason for the season.  From the Houston Press:

Governor Rick Perry signed what has become known as the “Merry Christmas bill” last week. In addition to permitting holiday greetings, the legislation also says that schools are allowed to display scenes or symbols associated with winter holidays on school property, such as a Christmas tree or a menorah, as long as there is at least one other religious or secular symbol present as well.

Now THAT is a real governor.

The freedom FROM religion nuts would like to equate expressions of faith by government officials which are allowed under the 1st amendment, to mandating a state religion which is not allowed under the 1st amendment.  And even while absurd legal battles still rage on about nativity scenes on public property, opinions or sentiment from respected offices or positions are clearly allowed.

The LGBTIQ-crowd tries to screw Michigan Taxpayers just one more time.

Okay, they played the legal lottery and won.

I get that.

I don’t have to like that, but I get it.

We have a Supreme Court Chief Justice whose mental state is seriously suspect. A fellow Supreme Court Justice who is apparently too concerned with “leaving a legacy” than actually following the letter of the law. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the judicial activism displayed by other SCOTUS Justices in preceding rulings (and these) on unrelated cases should also be a cause for concern for any Freedom-loving American. But that is better left for another discussion.

Now, the LGBTIQ-crowd wants to turn the screws just one more time.

Shakedown Flag

Expect to see this flying in Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Hazel Park and Traverse City sometime soon…
