Real Civil Rights Leadership

Can there be a comparison to Jim Crow and the behavioral based desire for special treatment by LGBT?

Outstanding courage on display in Lansing yesterday (H/T Stacy Swimp)

A generous crowd of pastors and ministers as well as others who see the fight for forced ‘equality’ under the guise of civil rights to be not only wrong, but dangerous to real civil rights and equality reforms.

The legislature would be making a grave mistake by enabling more of the family and liberty destroying agenda through the LGBT desired changes to the Elliot Larsen civil rights act.  By forcing one group to accept another group’s behavior or face punishment is an affront to our constitutionally protected liberties.

Credit is due to those who take this seriously enough to stand up and face its evil.

Thank you and God bless.

And In The Meantime

Bill Schuette's office hard on private business for raising rates, but larger permanent rate increases ignored?

Attorney_General_Bill_Schuette_410797_7A press release today alerts us of a major strike against ‘energy price terrorism’ in Michigan’s winter wonderland!

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette’s office says:

Attorney General Bill Schuette today announced his Corporate Oversight Division has secured more than $500,000 for approximately 5,600 Michigan propane consumers to resolve customer complaints against AmeriGas concerning propane-pricing issues during last winter’s heating season. This settlement marks a key development in his ongoing investigation into hundreds of consumer complaints related to propane pricing and delivery during the 2013-2014 winter season.

“Cooler autumn weather means many Michigan families are already anxious about upcoming heating bills,” Schuette observed. “I’m happy we can put money back into the wallets of hard-working families who paid steep prices to heat their homes last winter while already trying to make ends meet.”

Put that money back!

Oh, and in the meantime, after beating up the suppliers who might just run out of propane or fail to deliver due to cost controls the NEXT harsh winter, perhaps the AG can turn his attention to the real villains; The EPA, and the Obama administration, which is turning up the heat on all of the UP ratepayers through unconstitutional environmental badgering of our utilities.

Oh, and don’t let Levin and Stabenow fool you in the link above.  Destroying the middle class and depopulating the UP is their life’s work as much as anyone’s.

Glenn Opponent Applauded Legislative Malfeasance

Joan Brausch applauds legislative abandonment in Wisconsin while a spokesman for occupy, THEN denies she was a spokesman.

Brausch-wowJoan Brausch should be a NASCAR driver.

The Democrat candidate for Michigan’s 98th house seat would have voters believe she wasn’t a spokesman for the ‘occupy’ movement. Apparently she has been running the left turn at high velocity for so long, that the centrifugal force has drawn all the blood from the left hemisphere of her brain.

A Facebook posting denying involvement as leadership in the occupy contradicts with video evidence.

Of course, the “American Dream” group she founded might well be true also.

Considering who ALSO organized an ‘American Dream Movement’ on or about the same time, its very possible she was a part of that.

“In 2011, Jones worked with MoveOn.org to launch the Rebuild the Dream campaign, which was intended to start a progressive American Dream movement

I suppose linking to communists while denying her local ‘occupy’ suckers sends a signal she is willing to toss aside a few nobodies to advance a hardened ‘progressive’ agenda.

Even as she is afraid to debate and suffer an inevitable crush through unassailable logic and common sense by Republican Gary Glenn.

Vote Strategically!

Stop Trott------Un-Gridlock D.C.------Gridlock Lansing

Fortune Magazine: Boehner to Business – Help Me Stiff-Arm the Nuts . The Nuts? That would be We, We the People, We the Constitutionalists. We, who are so fed-up with the GOP, Snyder, Trott, etc., that We may stay home on Election Day.

From Fortune’s perspective: “To the credit of the party — and allies like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Karl Rove-affiliated American Crossroads — Republicans are fielding recruits across the map handpicked to help Boehner [ignore the Conservatives and vote with Democrats]. In Michigan, Dave Trott, an entrepreneur and major Republican donor himself, mounted a successful primary challenge to Kerry Bentivolio, a Tea Party incumbent …”

Fortune agrees with Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review that GOP’s strategy is to vote for “soggy white bread candidates” so that Boehner can give Democrats a victory over Conservatives in the House, and then identifies David Trott as the poster child for Big Money and all the Crony Capitalism that money can buy.”

Fox News has now picked up the story including Trott’s “Foreclosure King” moniker. The story has garnered 400+ comments and over 1,000,000 Tweets in the first 24 hours.

The Constitutionalists in MI-11 need to send a message to Boehner and the Michigan GOP by doing whatever is necessary to Stop Trott. One option – write in “Kerry B.”.

Another strategic villain that “We the People” need to stop is

Senate Majority Leader, “Dirty Harry” Reid.

Harry has single-handedly emasculated the U.S. Senate by creating a limbo where 500 bills from the House now sit enabling Obama to use Executive Orders and his runaway bureaucracy to control our lives. Reid has been able to obscure the truth about Obama’s scandals while imposing the “nuclear option” to fast-track Obama’s appointments.

Steve Boron: “Conservatism Wins,” especially in tough districts

Protecting gun rights, cutting taxes, reducing spending, and stopping Obamacare. These aren’t issues you’d expect a Republican to run on in a blue district, like Michigan’s 16th House District which consists of the cities of Wayne and Westland. But Steve Boron says it’s the only way Republicans can win over Democrats and Independents.

Steve Boron talks with a voter over the phone. He estimates that his campaign has placed over 15,000 live phone calls to voters in his district.

Steve Boron talks with a voter over the phone. His campaign has placed over 15,000 live phone calls to voters in Michigan’s 16th House District.

“A lot of voters are disengaging from the political process because they feel neither party represents them,” said Boron. “Instead of being ‘Democrat-lite’, Republicans need to take a stand for conservative principles and inspire their base to get out and vote.”

Steve Boron is a 20-year member of the UAW, the owner of a small solar panel business, and a lifelong resident of Westland. On paper, he seems unlikely to be a free-market conservative – let alone a Republican candidate for State Representative. But Boron says his background is his biggest strength.

“I’m a blue collar worker and a union member just like most people in the district. Voters here will trust me before they trust a career politician or a wealthy CEO,” he said. “I understand what issues matter to my community and how to tailor the conservative message to win over their support.”

Campaign Strategy

When asked whether he has any proof his strategy works, Steve Boron responds that he is simply “retooling” Barack Obama’s successful re-election strategy.

“Obama won in 2012 because he moved to the left, fired up his base, and got out the vote,” Boron says. “It made me wonder, ‘why can’t Republicans improve on that model?'”

Boron points out his training at the Foundation for Applied Conservative Leadership and experience as a grassroots activist were also formative in his understanding of political strategy.

“We’re focusing heavily on voter identification and microtargeting. Once we know where a voter stands on a few issues, we know how to communicate to them,” he said. “For example, every supporter of the Second Amendment we identify will be targeted with a message about my ‘A’ rating from the NRA and the endorsement I received from the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners.”

Did Robert Kosowski Lie To Gain A Key Endorsement?

Did State Rep. Robert Kosowski (D-Westland) lie about his voting record on education in order to gain the Wayne-Westland Observer’s endorsement? Despite misleading claims in the Wayne-Westland Observer, Kosowski voted to cut education funding and ban charter schools.

In his first term as Wayne and Westland’s State Representative, Robert Kosowski voted numerous times to expand the power of Tax Increment Financing Authorities (TIFAs) to take money from local school districts. Rep. Kosowski also co-sponsored House Bill 5852, which would force every single charter school in the state to close once its charter expires.

In addition to cutting the budgets of local school districts and banning charter schools, Kosowski voted for the “Common Core” standards, which increases federal control of local school districts and mandates additional standardized testing of students. Rounding out Kosowski’s voting record on education is his opposition to Education Achievement Authorities, which are the state agencies that help failing public schools.

In their endorsement of Kosowski, LeAnne Rogers of the Wayne-Westland Observer reported that Rep. Kosowski said “he’s not opposed to charter schools.” In a different article for the Observer, Rogers reported that Kosowski supported school funding increases.

It’s possible that Kosowski lied about his voting record in order to gain the Observer’s endorsement – and Rogers, the Observer editor, failed to do her homework. However, some have accused LeAnne Rogers of being biased after she misquoted Kosowski’s Republican opponent as being in favor of the gasoline tax. Dan MacDonald, a top commenter on the Observer’s website, claimed that “she pulled the same thing during the city council race.”

Michigan’s Voice for Victims?

One Citizen's concern over Michigan's growing imbalance of power and the eroding of the checks and balances built into our governmental system to protect individuals from injustice. The gentlemen is far from alone in his concerns.....

boot

Neither the Right nor Left, The Republicans nor the Democrats, have a patent on being the protectors of the citizen’s individual Liberties.  When it boils right down to it, a political policy vehicle can, and often does, fail with it’s endorsements. And our elected representatives often fail their constituents when  it comes to the protection of the individual.

We can stay on the merry-go-round of party politics that villainizes the opposition party, (often warranted) or we can start grading our elected on their effectiveness, and willingness to challenge the system and allow unhindered due process afforded every citizen in our U.S. and State Constitutions.  When the system fails, when petitioning is exhausted and disregarded,  The people have the right and duty to make it right at the ballot box.

Gridlock Is Good?

Bill Ballenger, Kyle Melinn make the point that might have to be considered in this election.

Video found at VoteForGridlock.com

Its pretty bad when our BEST alternative comes from tying the hands of our lawmakers so that they might accomplish none of their goals. Its bad when either gubernatorial candidate represents a regressive or potentially dangerous path for our state. Its uncomfortable to have to advocate such a position, but Ballenger, and Melinn get it.

Look, its not as if we didn’t warn of the poison infecting the Republican party before. Mark Schauer is BAD NEWS. But Rick Snyder, beyond whatever reasonable reforms already made, has his own plans that we will not, and can not support any more than the Democrat’s own.

If Snyder loses, (which appears to be less probable the more folks see Schauer) it must be seen as a clear repudiation by conservatives, and a loss of the base. Don’t think the flags wouldn’t be raised for broader support of the Schauer (leftist) doctrine. As we have seen already, the Romney loss and subsequent misplaced blame was a severe example of denial by party leadership.

Eaton County Dems and LALWV in on giving the rusty hatchet to Tom Barrett?

Update – 16 October 2014 @ 1042 Hours

I received a reply from Ms. Wilson.

We had no time to reschedule it, to notify people of its rescheduling, and to find the personnel to handle another date. We also weren’t entirely sure that Barrett would not show up for the full forum. I do regret that I didn’t have a chance to let Theresa Abed know the circumstances, but everything was speculative until the evening of the forum itself.

So yeah, Jacquelyn Tennis was barking up the wrong tree.
