Sentencing for Pro Life Activists March 14

Trespass conviction.

Left to right: Robert Kovaly, Matthew Connolly, Monica Miller, Patrice Woodworth, Will Goodman

As a reward for buying flowers and the gall of suggesting that life is worth something, a Jury has decided against a pro life group.

While millions of foreign nationals trespass daily on our sovereign soil, it is those who stood as life’s defenders that were prosecuted for such a violation  Five Red Rose Rescuers;  Monica Migliorino Miller, Will Goodman, Patrice Woodworth, Matthew Connolly, and Robert “Doc” Kovaly were found guilty of trespassing and also interference with an officer (due to their practice of passive resistance) by a 6 person jury Feb. 21, 2018 stemming from their Dec. 2, 2017 pro-life rescue at the Women’s Center abortion center in West Bloomfield, MI. operated by abortionist Jacob Kalo.

They stood trial before Judge Marc Barron in the 48th District Court (4280 Telegraph Rd., West Bloomfield, MI.). He will be will sentencing the pro-life group March 14th at 1:30pm.

Prior to trial the trial the pro-lifers’ motion for a defense of necessity was denied by Judge Barron. On Dec. 2, 2017 the 5 pro-lifers entered the waiting room of the Women’s Center to talk to the mothers seated in the waiting room and hand them red roses. The pro-lifers argued that their attempt to persuade the mothers scheduled for abortion to turn away from that decision and their mere presence in the clinic as an act of defense for the unborn were acts necessary to prevent greater evils from occurring than the mere violation of the city trespass ordinance.

Prosecutor Larry Sherman requested from Judge Barron that the Women’s Center never be called an “abortion clinic” in an attempt to sanitize the trial from having anything to do with abortion. Barron granted this request. Miller explains: “The victims of abortion, namely the unborn, were kept hidden from the jury and the judge’s rules were designed to stifle any testimony having to do with the reality of abortion.”

Where is Bill Schuette? Chasing Feral Ducks?

States Sue/ Contend Obamacare Unconstitutional - Michigan's presence in suit noticeably absent.

What a missed opportunity for a highly probable next governor!

Bill Schuette has failed miserably on two high profile United States Supreme Court cases already.  As simple as telling the federal government that the constitution still matters, and that Michigan invokes the 10th with appropriate and legal prejudice.  Defending Michigan’s Marriage LAW, and fighting the last Obamacare suit should have been easy work for any attorney/former judge/congress critter, but here we are years later living with the failure on those fronts.

And now another opportunity pops up, and the state attorney general is nowhere to be seen?

Cmon Bill!  It’s not as-if you are spending time going out and meeting the folks.  Get with the plan, and don’t take your current lead for granted.

Michigan needs better than this.

Lucido Has It Correct

Legislator attempting to tackle ridiculous asset forfeiture shenanigans.

You’ll find no stronger supporters of our boys in blue than here and in GOP ranks.

However, accountability and due process is paramount for continued trust between the citizenry and our law enforcement.  Integrity is a managed asset.

Peter Lucido should be thanked.

Callous Disregard

Pro Life activists face trespass charges while murder mill operator maintains brevity

On September 15, 2017 four pro-lifers conducted a ‘Red Rose Rescue’ at Northland Family Planning abortion center in Sterling Hts, MI.

At that time, Will Goodman, Matthew Connolly (pictured at left), Abby McIntyre and the director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society Monica Migliorino Miller were arrested for trespassing. The rescue was part of a national initiative. On that day 2 other Red Rose Rescues took place in Alexandria, VA and Albuquerque, NM.

At 8:45am the pro-life group entered the waiting room of the abortion center owned and operated by Renee Chelian, and proceeded to talk to the mothers seated there, handing out red roses, and speaking to them with material help and words of encouragement to continue with their pregnancies, as well as on the humanity of the unborn baby. The goals of the Red Rose Rescue were two-fold: 1) to persuade women to leave the abortion center and give life to their children and 2) to provide an act of defense for the unborn scheduled to be imminently put to death–insofar as the pro-lifers expect the abortion procedures to not take place as long as they maintain a presence in the abortion facility.

After 25 minutes Sterling Heights, MI police arrived and placed the pro-lifers under arrest. They were charged with trespassing.  Their attorney Robert Muise of the American Freedom Law Center intends to ask for a defense of necessity–a common law defense that excuses criminal acts that are committed to prevent a greater evil from occurring–in this case harm to women and the killing of innocent unborn children.

The evil does exist.

That Time Again

Small Business Owners get to beg off of paying the license fee for their business tools to the state.

Because the legislature has never been able to properly address crappy PPT rules, and the underlying cause (overbig government).

Michigan is one of VERY FEW remaining states that will otherwise continue to assess your ink pens, mouse pad, sticky notes, and desk top knockerballs.  Here is a link to your hall pass, your permission slip; your way to avoid paying taxes again and again on equipment and office furnishings up to a value of $80k.  It is due on the 20th.

Two weeks.

You’re welcome.

Religious Liberty

The Trump administration appears to be advancing certain freedoms quite reliably.

Thanks to the Trump admin, the baby killers are getting nervous.

Apparently Planned parenthood folks are so far gone in their willingness to snuff out human life, they would deny practicing physicians the ability to conscientiously object.  Objecting to new HHS rules PP is going into conniptions:

“Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, is encouraging their supporters to tell the Department of Health Human Services (HHS) that a proposed rule to strengthen conscience protections for healthcare providers is “dangerous” and “encourages discrimination.” The rule requires health care providers to notify their employees of protections against religious discrimination on job applications and employee manuals. The rule also allows the HHS Office of Civil Rights (OCR) to enforce protections for religious medical providers.”

Outstanding.

‘Choice’ apparently has a different meaning to the child hunters.  Until government is used to directly control our lives (sans the personal choice of fetal sepaku), the leftist monsters won’t be happy.

Its a good sign of personal conscience protections from a government realigning itself with the constitution.  Other health care fields might also benefit from such positive efforts. I wonder if this could be re-litigated?

Sure.

Mo Money

Eight years of tax increases.

Michigan taxpayers shelled out an extra $32.6 billion in state taxes over the last eight years.

Money collected in state tax revenue per Cap Con and their associated graphic:

The eight year total increase in taxes amounts to an aggregate of roughly $3,400 for every legal man, woman and child in the state of Michigan.

Opportunity

Coming soon - Some great lemonade?

Call me the eternal optimist.

Folks need to look at recent events with a little different perspective.  At least the folks who hold ALL the power right now.  There are good outcomes that are possible if the GOP collectively gets its head straight.

Our federal spending is bloated, and perpetually deficit ridden.  Federal government shutdowns provide an insight into what is truly important to the general population, and leadership.  It can also be used as a character test of those who claim certain positions (ie: being against Obamacare, cutting welfare, illegal immigration cost) during voting events.

There is nothing that holds the GOP held Senate to the 60 vote limitation used to provide cover for the shut down.  Democrats, if ever they hold power again, would sidestep the rule so fast it would make the obamacare passage mechanics look amateurish to accomplish their stated goals of totalitarian socialism.

Military, ports, courts, borders, and federal highway systems are primary needs.  State welfare subsidies, housing, education, federal property ownership, environmental interference, business manipulation (cronyism), and personal medical insurance practices are not.

Start with the federal defunding of California, and make Michigan a close next.

If GOP ideas are good, put them in place and let the results speak for themselves.  If some legislators express an inordinate amount of fear about blowback, then we know where our weak sisters are, and they can be replaced ..now.

The #SchumerShutdown is the time to move forward and demonstrate the inadequacy of the Democrat philosophy to provide a constitutionally based operating plan that offers maximum state and individual benefit in the longer term.

It is an opportunity that ought not be missed.
