Happy Independence Day

The right tone, the right time.

Trump’s speech last night was just was this country needed.

All of what is going on can be stopped in just a few short minutes if we want to stop it. Riots, damage, and even the dreaded Chinese Flu, Covid-19.  Below are some of my thoughts, and below the fold, a great message by our president..

Covid deaths and high mortality were exacerbated by our governor and others putting recovering folks in with the most vulnerable to the disease.  We knew by the first week in March that the older population was a high risk group.  There is NO excuse.  Oh, and BTW, Hydroxychloroquine works!

BLM? Antifa? Seattle provided one of the greatest lessons with it’s Chaz nonsense.  The Mayor allowed the kids to play ‘country,’ even tolerating two deaths during their playtime, and ruining millions of dollars in local businesses and property.  It was cleared up in 30 minutes the day after those kids wanted to play ‘invading nation’ at the Mayor’s house.

Compliance

It is your choice. - There is no LAW that forces one to wear a mask.

Your mask is making you stupid and subservient.

I’ll admit, I carry one in my pocket.  I do so for when I absolutely MUST patronize an establishment, and cannot enter without playing the game.  I respect private property, and those owners have to deal with their own licensing, etc.

I was even told to leave a hardware store because I wouldn’t comply, so went down the street to buy the paint I needed.  But the doctor’s office for my physical? A slightly different story.

Whitmer, in her need to stay relevant and IN POWER reminds us regularly however that we must wear our masks!  In fact, she uses all the resources the state of Michigan can afford for such propaganda and tweets:

um ..no.

There are a great number of replies to this brilliant tweet that really inspired this post.  Of course there are the typical sycophants and afeared folks.  But true patriots are aplenty, and let her know where she can shove those masks.  I figured I would share some of them.

Just Raise Your Menu prices

Surcharges are crap.

They reek of doctor’s bills.  You get a bill, then weeks later you get a billing charge, then a room charge ..and so on.  No transparency until its all over.

Government, in dealing with covid-19 has screwed over restaurants terribly.  It costs a helluva lot more to do business, and the peak business revenues are reduced by half.  Disposable safety elements are used, and efficiency is destroyed by protocol and staffing limitations.

So much so that Some restaurants are adding fees to their bills.

What They Won’t Tell You

Narrative by omission or simply careless?

A week ago the BLM nonsense made its way into our own neighborhood.

I received a call from the Sheriff prior to the rally held Saturday as he was reaching out to local activists and performing due diligence.  In my case it was pretty simple, he wanted to reach one of the counter protest organizers, and I simply had the phone number for said organizer.

The Sheriff explained that there would be a lot of folks there, but the police presence would probably outnumber the gathering crowd.  As it turned out, the crowd WAS quite large, and all the followers who have been brainwashed into thinking ‘systemic racism’ is a thing, showed up to kumbiya with whomever would listen.

Somehow they talked the heads of the local police into speaking and (in my opinion) grovel a little to appease the people who were going city to city calling for their extinction.  The Sheriff for his part later said he was surprised and disappointed when the list of demands were made.

Video Blog – BLM? No Thanks

'Get along - go along types' need to stiffen up spines just a bit.

We are in a war.

Its not a race war, but race itself is being used as a stalking horse.  Our leadership needs to stop playing to the temper tantrums thrown by the victim class and wise up to the underlying mission of leftist Alinsky types who have been running said victims as they have since 1964.

None of this is about equality. It is about power.  It is about the moneyed left’s power to manipulate every segment of divisiveness present within our cultural differences.

In the end it is about who gets to distribute whatever resources are left.

Governor Leading The Lawless

The side effects of having an unrepentant lawbreaker as a governor.

Something occurred to me this morning.

One of the ways in which government has been able to operate at a board level is by Zoom, of some other streaming service.  The problem with this however, was the ways in which the streaming option limited the ability of those who wish to attend meetings and keep government open and transparent.

The answer was Executive Order 2020-15.  EO 2020-15 changed the requirements of having the meetings, to allowing by remote access with limited public interaction:

Acting under the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and Michigan law, I order the following:

Effective immediately and continuing until April 15, 2020 at 11:59 pm, to the extent that the Open Meetings Act, 1976 PA 267, as amended, MCL 15.261 to 15.272 (“OMA”) requires that a meeting of a public body be held in a physical place available to the general public or requires the physical presence of one or more members of a public body, strict compliance with section 3 of the OMA, MCL 15.263, is temporarily suspended in order to alleviate any such physical-place or physical-presence requirements, as follows:

The order allows forms of electronic meetings that would not otherwise be allowed under legislative authority without the power assumed by the governor.  It essentially kept local governments ability to operate under ‘stay home’ conditions that might arise.

In my home state of Michigan, and around the country political battles and protests have proliferated regarding shelter in place and distancing orders. When it comes to medicine,” following the science” means following the data. Following is relevant data in Michigan and elsewhere.

Patients requiring hospitalization, ICU bed and ventilator availability have trended significantly in the right direction as have the number of positive tests. With increased testing in mildly or asymptomatic cases the newly diagnosed patients will be less sick and require fewer hospital resources and should not significantly inform the shelter in place order if numbers rise with increased testing.

NO Authority

Michiganians must call Whitmer’s bluff.

The 1945 PA 302 does not grant unilateral power grab authority.  PA 390 Provided a check on her (or any governor’s) ability to extend such authority and subordinates PA302 with the addition of extension rules.

No one should adhere to her tyrannical decrees beginning May 1, unless Michigan’s legislature makes the mistake of extending her Emergency Declaration. Be strong and hold the line Michigan.
