You know, it’s been rather entertaining this morning sitting here with a warm cup of joe, flipping through news articles rehashing all the fallout from a disastrous scheme by on his way to the private sector, Rep. Frank Foster’s infatuation with special protections for perverts. Make no mistake – it was epic failure.
But the ACLU of Michigan, Equality Michigan and others wouldn’t even consider legislation that didn’t specifically name transgender individuals, along with gays and lesbians. They convinced Democrats it was an unacceptable bill and blocked their votes.
So rather than be satisfied with a historic expansion of Elliott-Larsen, the groups decided since they weren’t getting exactly what they demanded, they’d rather have nothing at all.
“The far left killed it,” says one of the leading business backers of the legislation. “They are worse than the tea party.”
That must be tough for the MCWC to swallow (no pun intended) butt (pun intended), all 60 of them made the conscience decision to jump into bed with the transtesticle fringe so, what’s up with the hate? They’re your team, and you all go calling them something lower than a bunch of – teabaggers? Wait .. what? Ya, I know, the irony is thick.
TEA movement folk out there… do file that quote into your memory when encountering their businesses – they are named here. Be sure to note within the names of the *business* Coalition that Jim Murray, CEO AT&T of Michigan, is also a sitting Board Member of the $1.6B “endowment” to play with (nah, his vote won’t be with agenda), which is roughly half of what the Snyder/Calley administration stole from us taxpayers as gift to BC/BS who loves their Snyder/Calley Obamcare Medicaid expansion, and insurance exchanges.
Now to bottom lines.
It has yet to be clearly explained to me by anyone in this state, both within government and private sector, as to how Rep. Frank Foster’s infatuation would be able to provide one iota of economic enhancement in a floundering Mitten. When it comes to the MI-GOP all we hear is – jobs, jobs, jobs – right? Well, who has been leading the nation? Texas.
Perry will retire in January with the tenth longest gubernatorial tenure in U.S. history. Perry made job creation one of his principle mantras, and he has overseen remarkable employment gains under his watch with 2.1 million jobs added during his tenure. The total represents 30% of the jobs added in the U.S. since 2000 and more than twice as many as any other state.
The so-called “Texas miracle” does not show any signs of slowing either with 413,000 jobs added over the last 12 months. Texas is expected to have the nation’s fastest annual job growth rate at 2.7% over the next five years, according to data from Moody’s Analytics.
Not only is there no sign of Texas, letting up in jobs, they are also leading at all pay levels.
Yet another dose of irony? If one takes a look at a Leftist rag, which many Millennials frequent, one sees within the propaganda that Texas is the third worst state for Gheys ever. Looks like those in Texas, especially business, likes prosperity, putting a decent roof over their heads and food on the table more than experimenting with unnatural social engineering policy.
Which, leads back to the end quote from one of the wisely unnamed members of the Michigan Competitive Workforce Coalition.
“They shot themselves in the foot,” says a business member of the coalition.
How queer is that? While others are making money, Michigan’s corporations, energy utility, chambers of commerce, colleges, school boards, warped religious leaders, and BC/BS are busy pointing fingers at their own foolish device. Yep. That’ll bring business to this environment.
Bottom line. If one has been around Huston, Dallas, and Austin, it isn’t one flaming iota different from Ann Arbor, Detroit, Ferndale, Royal Oak, and Saugatuck… and NOBODY CARES.
So, does the MCWC really care about jobs for all? Not with the resources wasted on their epic failure in Lansing.
H/t to Wirecutter for the image.
"Maybe????
Like you said above, this is a tag-team effort between the "forward" thinking business leaders here in Michigan, and politicians willing to prostitute themselves in order to create a protected class who cannot stand to hear the word: "No".
OABTW, I'm DL'ing that image onto my tablet to use on the LGBTIQ-crowd (and yes, I know more than a few here in Macomb), when they default to the "well, that cannot happen here"- argument about the "TIQ"- portion being slightly confused regarding which restroom to use.
That ought to shut them up.

You're welcome.
"Worse than the Tea Party."???
That's okay, we'll get better...after all, we've only been at this for 6 years or so...practice, practice, practice...
