Just to be on the level, I’m not going to bring back stories about grossly overpaid art museum CEO’s and their boards, not-so secret loans to art museum CEO’s, and art millage scams promoted against Tri-County Taxpayers.

No, I’m going to talk about what the good people in the Snyder/Calley/Weiser/et al republican machine are in effect helping to promote with your own hard-earned tax dollars.

Does anyone really think that the children are ready to be handed the keys?

If anyone can believe it, this has been kind of an important week for Detroit.

Most of us didn’t expect it would come to this point.

Seeing as how they pretty much broke the all rules to get here explains a lot on how that was really accomplished.

But nonetheless, a ceremonial milestone (albeit unofficial one) was passed.

Now for the all important question; Are the children ready to act responsibly and lead?

Weiser vs. Devos Staffer Smackdown!

Weiser appears ready to distance himself from Devos funded 'Great Lakes Education Project' and the radical activities of its MAIN MAN.

Or not.

We can be fair here. I have never had a problem with those from all side airing out their concerns (until it becomes redundant and unnecessary torture) on these pages. In an attempt to set the record straight before next weekend’s main event, Ron Weiser addresses the specific rumors/charges/accusations made against him in an email blast that we reprint in whole below the fold.

In the mean time, lets allow the spirit of his writing put the pressure on those in the MiGOP apparatus who are insane enough to disagree with the esteemed Mr Weiser on some very KEY points. Weiser is clear enough in his letter, so that we know that:

Homosexual marriage is a bad idea Mmk? Ron is quite obviously PRO Traditional marriage, and he is standing up and saying so. If you are PRO Homo (GHEY ‘marriage’) You are a BAD Republican. Obviously.
Common Core is also BAD Mmk? Ron expressly disagrees with his wife, and is willing to endure interesting dinner conversations to stand on his principles. That crazy common core is wrecking our education system and he’ll quarter NONE of it at U of M, and states he would actively oppose it.
GLEP and its Devos funded operator Greg McNeilly supports both of these, and Ron says will no longer be supporting GLEP financially, and has not since 2008. BRAVO! Greg McNeilley, who supports (and participated in) both Ghey ‘Marriage’ and Common Core, promotes the top two items through GLEP and his own personal PUBLIC displays, and THAT is enough for Ron Weiser who opposes GLEP and the Devos hired pop-gun McNeilley and his mechanization within the Republican party. Weiser and McNeilly, and perhaps McNeilly’s paycheck, DeVos by extension, must surely be natural enemies.

We are with you Mr Weiser. You gotta be careful who you hang with.

However, in the future, please feel free to be more direct and name names a little faster Ron. You know who they are, but we had to put the connected dots out there for you. No need to be coy, Mr Regent-to-be.

Through the Gates of Common Coreism

Alas! The corporate cat is finally out of the crony capitalism bag.

“There is a massive transition to digital happening across the country and around the world in education, and schools looking to prepare their students for the world beyond the classroom are empowering their students and teachers by providing devices, services, training and other elements needed for improved student outcomes,” Margo Day, vice president of U.S. education at Microsoft, said in the news release. “At Microsoft, we are proud to be a partner with so many great schools that are leading the way forward for education and in preparing our youth for tomorrow’s workforce.”

If the last part of that Day’s quote sounds familiar, it should. Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates and other Common Core supporters have used that same language – probably word for word in some instances – to justify the one-size-fits-all learning standards that they’re busy foisting onto schools in more than 40 states.

The official fairy tale – er, “narrative” – of Common Core goes something like this: THE REST

So, what might fit perfectly in Michigan, for that agenda? Oh, perhaps a Slick former CEO of crappy computers with cow patterned boxes who is well versed in the art of government contracts? Hmm, I wonder. Perhaps, a billionaire with stealth agenda glomming onto his longstanding crony Bush family ties to a Board that’s chaired by li’l Jeb, sniffing at a disastrous presidential run so he can share bragging rights at get togethers on the holidays?

Nah. That’s just “Wacko-Bird!” kind of thinking. Then again… res ipsa loquitur.
