Everything That’s Wrong With The MIGOP In One Photo

The MIGOP Establishment & Romney Dynasty In One Photo

For those of us who are conservative or libertarian, this image encapsulates everything that is wrong with the Michigan Republican Party.

Right to left: Rick Snyder, Ronna Romney McDaniel, Bobby Schostak, Scott Romney

On the right, we have Gov. Rick Snyder – who pushed Michigan’s Republican-dominated legislature to implement Obamacare, raise income and sales taxes, and increase government spending by $2.7 billion annually.

Next is Ronna Romney McDaniel, heiress to the Romney political machine, whose only political experience is speaking at hyped up events for Mitt Romney and being appointed to the Republican National Committee after Terri Lynn Land resigned.

Next to Ronna is her father G. Scott Romney, Mitt Romney’s brother and a failed candidate for Attorney General.

Behind Ronna and Scott we see Bobby Schostak, the outgoing Michigan Republican Party Chair, who used his position for personal profit and shut grassroots activists out of the party.

The kicker to all of this is that they’re all cheering on Mitt Romney’s coronation as the Republican nominee for President. Mitt, as we all know, went on to lose to Barack Obama in what should’ve been a home-run for Republicans.

Now Ronna Romney McDaniel is running to replace Bobby Schostak as MIGOP Chair. Despite having no grassroots experience, she laughably claims that she will mend relationships between the grassroots and establishment Republicans such as herself.

So far the only serious challenger to Ronna Romney McDaniel is Dr. Kim Shmina, a conservative activist and the Vice Chair of the 10th Congressional District’s Republican Party.

You have a very twisted view of reality. So answer a simple question for me: If your UNCLE was running for President...you would not support him?? Get real...

But, of course, Mr. *WolverineACE*. We here at RightMi.com have spoken just like you have as the true BJ Clinton voter that you are, Tom.

Fools and their mushy corrupt middle pictured here with Elder arithmetic magic underpants standing next to Bobby the sleaze, and with Ofay paddy ass behind him, indeed.

      Get real...

I absolutely would vote for my uncle. That's another reason I don't want Ronna Romney McDaniel as my state chair, considering that her uncle is considering a third run for President and we've seen the lengths that the GOP Establishment will go to in order to shut out candidates they don't like.

In fact, Ronna even abused her familial connections and her position as Republican National Committeewomam to campaign against grassroots conservatives.

Is that really the type of person you think will unite the MIGOP?

He hasn't officially declared yet though, which is why I didn't include him in the article. Joel Poynter is also running, but his campaign is non-existent: I haven't seen or heard of him being at any events, he hasn't sent any emails, he doesn't even have a campaign website.

As of right now, our choices are limited to Ronna Romney McDaniel, who we know won't end taxpayer funded primaries and has campaigned against grassroots conservatives, and Dr. Kim Shmina, who wants to treat the grassroots candidates fairly and supports ending open primaries.

Given those options, I choose Kim.

So it's on the record, there are four candidates duly-declared for State Chair: Norm Hughes, Ronna McDaniel, Joel Poynter, and Kim Shmina. For what my opinion is worth, Dr. Shmina's single smartest move (as political strategies go) would be to approach Hughes and/or Poynter and offer to merge their tickets. So as to fairly decide whom should be the candidate (chair) and whom should be the running-mate (co-chair), propose a coin toss; winner gets the top of the ticket.

The only way to potentially pull enough votes to deny Mrs. McDaniel the chair is to minimize the number of anti-establishment candidates on the ballot. That's going to require a couple of people willfully overriding their egos for the greater good of the insurgency.

I didn't include Norm in the article because he had not declared that he's running for state chair.

As for Joel Poynter - he is not running a serious campaign. I've never heard of him before this, I haven't seen him or his surrogates at any events, I haven't heard of him or his surrogates speaking at any events, he hasn't sent any emails to precinct delegates, and he doesn't even have a campaign website up. Basically he'll be nothing more than a name on the ballot at the state convention.

        Alex:

Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't meant they aren't running a serious campaign. Joel Poynter has visited a number of GOP county groups and also have posted his platform on a number of FB sites. As to e-mail to delegates it's my understand those have only been provided to Ronna Romney. I take it you're a Kim supporter but don't assume that those of us who consider our votes seriously will just site on our hands. I'll be checking out all candidates.
