As far as incumbents go, I'm hopeful that both Ray Franz and Martin Howrylak get reelected.

I rate them both lean R, since it is hard to see how a Republican who won in 2012 would lose in 2014, but they both could use some help. Particularly Franz, who was outraised by the dem. Pat Colbeck also needs significant fundraising help.

I suppose its possible the Dems could look at Franz's seat and think they have a chance, but its not a hopey changey tsunami as it was in 2008 (along with some other issues) when Scripps won. Franz has represented his district well, and has been able to remain true to his core.

Colbeck is a good one we should make sure is a return. If I can scratch a few bucks together, I'll be cutting a check his way.

Franz won 51-49 in 2012, so the district is certainly competitive.

The top of the ticket is what I find amusing. Lon and his White House ties wifey have all but stayed out of the SoS race with a last minute throwing an 'ol what's his name 'Gadfly' at the wall.

Even the Dems know that Ruth Johnson is the only statewide candidate on Team R that hasn't thoroughly pissed off Conservatives.

    Now, that's gottdamn funny.

Dems always nominate a black person from metro Detroit for LG, AG, or SOS. Since 1994, this essentially gives one of our nominees a free pass. This time, Ruth lucked out.

Ruth lucked out? Ha! Bullshit. Team R's statewide candidates - the Nerd with his poser Lt., Terri Elliot-Larsen/minimum wage hike Hibma, and 'ol AG Do Little - suck.
