Little Ronna Romney Shuns a Republican District Manager and also a Army Veteran House Candidate

ALERT: STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS VOTE SMART

Unbelievable and this is most likely the new MIGOP national committee-girl? Can you say arrogant, self centered, immature, the feeling of entitlement because of the family name? Can you say “dele-gate” all over again?

A Ronna Romney Jr. 1

Little Ronna was hand picked by the establishment power brokers of the MIGOP before Terri Lynn Land even “quit” and by hook or by crook she will win mark my words!

By Thomas Norton – My question to all of you is, what do you expect out of our National Committeewoman?

Thomas Norton For 73rd District House

Myself, I would expect someone who cares about everyone who wants to be in the process.

Yesterday I called Ronna Romney McDaniel and stated to her that wanted to talk to all three of the women running, and figure out who I could help whip for. She stated back that that’s nice but she’s busy right now and could she call back, to which I said, “absolutely.”

The problem is that the call didn’t end, because she re-asked what I was trying to do. I said again that I wanted to talk to all three of the women running, and figure out who I could help whip for, as I am not on the State Committee, but still wanted to contribute.

Ms. McDaniel at this point told me she didn’t need people to whip for her, and that I should just back her for who she is. For the record, I don’t know this woman, but only her name, and I know that her family’s political legacy includes a great deal of failure, specifically including 4 failed attempts at the Presidency, 4 failed attempts at a U. S. Senate seat, 1 failed attempt at Michigan Attorney General, and 1 Michigan Governor. (Further, just because you have the name doesn’t entitle you to the successes associated with it.)

She also continued to state that she doesn’t care if I want to be involved, because if I’m not on the state committee I don’t count. So I asked her what she thought of the grassroots movement. She responded that they were immaterial to the growth of the party. After this, she ended the call.

Now I will be honest with you; I have talked to both of the other candidates, and both are equally better than Ms. McDaniel in that both understand the party’s core problem, and have a plan to address it. I would urge all of you to not back Ms. McDaniel, because after hearing that attitude, I can now more clearly understand her family’s election day shortfalls. I have been deployed into combat zones on behalf of our nation, and have had enemy soldiers treat me with more respect than she did in that phone conversation.

Sincerely,
Thomas Norton
District Manager

This sure doesn't say much and exposes a lot about Ronna Romney who I met years ago. At that time she was very hurt that her former father-in-law, George Romney did not support her in her run for office. Looks as if she doesn't have much care for the grassroots, but is instead in bed with the wheeler & dealers.

This information truly displays and exposes a lot about Ronna ... and is a huge disappointment.

To: Sovereign Mary. - - FYI. There are two Ronna Romneys: Mother and Daughter. The woman you are referring to having met years ago, whose father-in-law was George Romney, is the Mother. The woman who has just become the GOP National Committeewoman is the Daughter.

    Tom, good work on this.
But, I had worse than your experience when I tried to on tact Mary Sears, by phone and by email. She simply did not return anything. I posted my written questions to her. Many friends are voting for her, but I do not take friendship over business. She needed to be vetted the same way as the rest. I rest my case

Wanting to help or be a part and feeling hurt when you are told you are not needed is hard to take sometimes.Have you ever been working on something and had it all laid out just to have a friend come by that wants to help and their feelings get hurt when you tell them no !!! It is like this in campaigns also.Judge them by their works , what they have done in the past . Promises as we have seen by watching Obama don't mean much even if they are with good intentions.

Now that Ms. McDaniel has been elected to fill Terri Land's vacancy as National Committeewoman, that leaves her position as an 11th District State Committeewoman vacant. If I understand the rules correctly, then the 25-member 11th District Committee will be voting to fill that vacancy.

Kevin - I am an 11th District State Committeewoman, and can tell you this much - we will need to carefully look through our by-laws to see if there is anything there addressing this sort of situation, and go from there.

I know who you are, Barbara, as we spoke by phone at least once during the two-week campaign, as well as exchanged e-mail correspondence. (Unfortunately, this site is only using my first name as my screenname -- instead of my full name, as I would normally use -- and I have no idea as to how to correct that.)

It would be imprudent of me to comment further on this matter without myself reviewing the applicable bylaws, but it seems to me that it would be improper for Ms. McDaniel to have two votes on the State Committee.

Barbara- state party bylaws address the replacement of a chairperson at the district level. One thing- you do not need to consider gender so you can elect male or female.

Michelle, Ms. McDaniel wasn't the 11th District Chair (that's Mike Mitchell), she's one of the three State Committeewomen from the 11th District. Gender will be a consideration here.

The 3rd District is faced with a similar situation, due to the recent resignation of one of their State Committeewomen. I'm told by the district vice-chair that the District Committee will elect a replacement at their next regular meeting.
