First Amendment Or Firing?

Is a recent editorial by a county employee appropriate, ..or defamation?

I tend to be of the opinion that no employment robs one of his or her ability to speak and offer opinion.

Free speech is a win-win, right?  So what happens when a person who represents policy for an employer openly disagrees with that employer’s position on any specific subject? What if the employer is not only disagreed with, but is defamed in the process?

We may find out. From our favorite fish wrap in the North:

“The medical director for the Grand Traverse County Health Department contends county commissioners “crossed the line from illogical to irresponsible” when they passed a resolution that curbs messaging public health officials distribute in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. “

There is disagreement, which would be better served with an “I understand their concern, but this is wrong..” and then there is ..name calling, ..yes?

In this case, it is about the resolution passed in order to reign in some of the messaging, and the inability of the health department to step outside its authority in the name of ‘science.’  Commissioners last week put the check on their subordinates, and it didn’t sit well with the ‘heroes’ of the plandemic.  This particular doctor’s feathers were ruffled, and in true Doctor speak (“I am better than anyone cause of my letters”) he made sure we all know it.

Perhaps 78 year old Collins may not care whether he is employed by the county, so open insubordination bordering on defamation is easy. Or perhaps Mr Collins ..MD, hasn’t in his nearly octogenarian status has yet to learn the role of the politicians we elect? ..That is ..to protect our rights.

While the experts and medical professionals waffle before a trusting public that follows every ‘science’ based policy change without question, there is a compelling reason for politicians to step up to the plate and defend common sense. Especially when those policy changes threaten our personal liberties.

There is a reason that the bureaucrats work for the politicians. Because unfettered control is intoxicating. Power is a drug, and the bureaucrats, whether health workers or regulators, will always seek to expand and consume it. Elected types can theoretically be removed cyclically.

The experts our politicians hire are there to be effective tools, but these ‘tools’ are self aware. And most certainly there an expression that best explains what happens often: “..to a hammer, ..everything looks like a nail.”

The Grand Traverse County Commission’s primary effect on policy was to squash the aspirations to ‘do-good’ externally, and ‘feel-good’ internally, while effecting misery on county employees and others who must deal with increasing bureaucratic BS in this time of hyped up medical fear mongering. Four our benefit ..of course.

No one has yet to explain it better than CS Lewis:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be “cured” against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

Our government functionaries might mean well ..

But without the layer of elected types they would devour us.

And for our own benefit.

I am so unbelievably proud of GT County Commissioners and so disappointed in TCAPS school board. A mask mandate based on fake science is wrong. Relying on the health department, who obviously is unaware of all the CDC crap being suppressed is negligent, if not malpractice. State law usurps anything the health department says and state law states our kids shall not be masked, even in times of emergency. Violating state law is a violation of their oath of office. Oh, and the health department relying on fake science should be enough to remove funding from them. Tired of paying for garbage.

The CDC commissioned a study which basically determined that masks, lock-downs and and even social distancing are totally worthless exercises. The report was then suppressed but exposed in last Sunday's NY Times. It's finally coming to MSM that the poke is causing this alleged "wave" of a new variant. Truth is, the poke created the new variant. And, the CDC released the truth about the PCR test as being totally bogus, yet it's still being used as the gold standard in places like Munson. Keep in mind, the covid still has not been isolated--so that being said, how could they possibly know of a new variant if they can't isolate the old? Yesterday, the DOD revealed that the poke has caused more deaths and injury to our military than actual covid. Facts being suppressed is treason in my mind.

We are tired of being duped and its not a matter of resist, it's a matter of liberty. Stand up now or lose your right to stand later.

Speaking of the School board, My understanding is that they voted to mandate masks during a 'study session'

      Thoughts?

Thoughts? Learn Mandarin. The only hope you have is President Xi Jinping liberates America. It’s over. Republicucks owned by Israel money have handed everything over to the Democratic Party. You know, the people supposedly we fight overseas so we don’t have to fight them here? You’re watching it now in real-time.

A rushed study session. Nonetheless, the "mandate" cannot move forward until the minutes as approved. I'm thinking suit against individual school board members for violation of the oath.

Because clearly that is the most important part of this issue.
