Executive Mayhem in Oakland County: Theresa Antionette Gives Second Helping of Cake After Delegate Slaughter

null

Yesterday, the Oakland County GOP Executive Committee (EC) met for the first time since the delegate allocation count was slaughtered by the arbitrary dictate of Chairwoman Theresa Mungioli. This meant that 503 spots were cut for the August 2016 election, and now hundreds of engaged delegates are going to be disenfranchised during an important Presidential election year. The people who will be tasked with ensuring Republican victory in November have been effectively slapped in the face.

The party hacks tell the disenfranchised delegates to suck it up. Just buck up and just work a little harder, they say. It’s easy for them to speak like this because they know that an avalanche of dark money is coming their way to make sure they keep their spots. Remember what the Snyder and Schuette-connected Michigan Advocacy Trust did in 2014? They sent out mailers against every principled delegate they were aware of. Expect the establishment gangsters to double-down on shady postcards and other underhanded tactics this time around.

Regardless of their callous ‘advice,’ precinct delegate hopefuls having to campaign for their position in numerous hotly-contested races means that there will be less time for them to volunteer for candidates who need their support to gain momentum in their primaries. It means less time for volunteers to go door-to-door on their behalf. They are forced to spend more time and money to even have a chance to participate in the functioning of the Michigan Republican Party. A Party, that I shouldn’t need to remind anyone, is a complete and utter national disgrace and embarrassment of Biblical proportions. Why would anyone want to jump through hoops to be an active participant in this mess?

Mungioli even released the numbers during the meeting, demonstrating that the number of registered delegate candidates had increased this time around. The number of contested races has more than doubled from the 2014 cycle. Delegates must now fight for their lives, rather than fight for Republican victory in November. Delegates will now be pitted against each other, rather than working side-by-side to rebuild the GOP. How does this promote party unity? Records were shattered for voter participation on the Republican side during the primary vote in Michigan and around the country. Mungioli has responded to this surge in enthusiasm with a strong and unmistakable message of Buzz Off. Mungioli wants you on the outside looking in because you might upset the Good Ol’ Boys club that is sinking like the Titanic as we speak.

This disgraceful business set the stage for the rest of the meeting, which wasn’t any less contentious.

RESOLUTION FIGHTS

David Lonier, a patriotic delegate from Auburn Hills, put up a resolution demanding the resignation of prominent oathbreaking criminals masquerading as leaders in the Michigan Republican Party. He pulled no punches with this magnificently worded resolution. “The Republican House Speaker and Senate Majority Leader, with the full support of the Governor and Lt. Governor, have endeavored to increase taxes, vehicle registration fees, expand government, increase spending and squander the people’s money,” the resolution read. It got even better from there!

“Therefore, be it resolved the members of the OCRP seek remedy for the continuing abuse of trust by members of the House and Senate, and demand the immediate removal of the Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader, and the repeal of their unlawful legislation, by whatever means available, and selection of new leadership for the remainder of their terms,” the resolution read. While the words in this resolution may seem extreme, the Government-Gone-Wild orgy of bureaucratic corruption in Lansing is far more extreme as well as obscene, offensive and a brazen affront to the founding principles. Needless to say, this resolution was hotly debated during the proceedings.

Matt Maddock, Battle Cry organizer and delegate from Milford, stood up and spoke boldly in favor of the important resolution. An army of bureaucrats were assembled by Mungioli in opposition to the resolution. Matt Maddock put these bureaucrats to task, especially Sen. Marty Knollenberg, for their lies and their contempt for their constituents. Maddock pointed out that Sen. Knollenberg ran on a low-tax, pro-freedom ticket to get into office, and then proceeded to stab his constituents in the back by voting for Gov. Snyder’s gas tax once he got to Lansing. Mungioli may have ruled that Maddock was ‘out of order’ with this comment, but it is very difficult to argue with the merit and legitimacy of his sentiments.

The important resolution for accountability against Republican oathbreaking politicians filed by David Lonier was tabled while another important resolution against Obama’s war in Syria failed by three votes. On the other hand, resolutions in favor of blind party unity and protecting Oakland County’s historical districts (with taxpayer money, of course) were shoved down our throats. Once again, this shows that the Oakland County GOP leadership is only concerned with trite meaningless platitudes, rather than dealing with the real issues and controversies facing our nation.

In spite of the moral bankruptcy of local GOP leadership, a new leadership team is forming to replace them. In stark contrast to rule by unilateral fiat under the Mungioli regime, it is always a team effort from the grassroots patriots. We have many courageous individuals who are willing to make their voices heard and speak truth to power. That is why Mungioli is crumbling under the pressure. That is why she has to disenfranchise delegates. It’s her last desperate stand to cling to power, but it is to no avail. We are watching her like a hawk. We never let her rule-breaking slide. This is how accountability and transparency is restored within the GOP: starting at the local levels enforced by the rank-and-file members.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RESOLUTION

Several boisterous EC members commonly whine and complain that the resolutions take too much time, are outside of the purview of the committee, and are irrelevant in the greater scheme of things. The time point is indeed a valid one. Perhaps if Mungioli actually scheduled Executive Committee hearings regularly instead of hiding under a rock for months at a time in between meetings, they wouldn’t be so grueling and tedious. Because Mungioli arbitrarily canceled a meeting back in February, the last official meeting of the Executive Committee was held in October. This means that pressing business has been sitting idle for seven months without any action being taken.

As for these resolutions being irrelevant, that is an insulting and frankly anti-American notion. Remember that it was the Founding Fathers who stoked the popular passions of the public to incite a fervor against the entrenched, corrupt government. That is, indeed, the story of the American Revolution. I am sure some British loyalists and their clueless pawns chided the Founding Fathers as they wrote resolutions and distributed them to the people, calling their efforts superfluous and unnecessary. Nevertheless, they pressed onward and were successful in creating the greatest country the world has ever known as a result of their efforts.

I would rather follow in the footsteps of the Founding Fathers than follow the cowardly dogma of individuals who have been little more than passive cheerleaders for the rule of tyrants simply because they said they were on the red team rather than the blue team. That’s what is really at the crux of the difference between the two factions going to war for the soul of the Republican Party right now, which is illuminated so unmistakably in Oakland County. It is Principle vs. Obedience, Bravery vs. Fealty, Truth vs. Deception, Freedom vs. Tyranny, Wheat vs. Chaff. It’s The Cheap, Dime-Store Imitation vs. The Genuine Conservative Article.

Martin Luther King Jr. once famously said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” And in Oakland County, the arc is bending something fierce. Although Mungioli represents a shameful new low in terms of local party leadership, it is always darkest before the dawn. The fact that she cannot hide her villainy means that her ouster is all but assured. Having to resort to a delegate slaughter has only sealed her fate. She will not intimidate us or beat us down into submission. The grassroots patriots of Oakland County are just getting started. What happened in the EC yesterday was just a taste. We have just rolled up our sleeves, and come hell or high water, the trash is going to be taken out in November.

Thanks Shane--for those of you who believe that the only place this is going on is OC--you are wrong. Thing is Mungioli (Ha--when this name was spell checked, the only option given was "mud slinging") is not that bright so all this thunking was done by higher-up elitists--who really do not understand that the real elitists are the elected delegates. County EC's are mandated by statute. There is a formula used to assign the number of precinct delegates and to arbitrarily remove the number of delegates each precinct is allowed, may violate this. And, if this arbitrary and capricious act by "MudSlinging" violates the intent of the law and by-laws of your EC--is grounds for removal. What ya all waiting for--remove her.

There was NO arbitrary removal of delegates, the number reduced is picked by the chair person, but where the seats are removed is determined by the County Clerks office, based on the last election results. Talk about slinging mud, but again you are uninformed and most likely uneducated. People do not tell Theresa what to do, doesn't matter what their rank or elitist status is.
I suggest you start by teaching yourself never to enter a battle of wits unarmed.

Obviously, Mungioli has to go. But how does pushing a resolution to throw out the Governor going to accomplish that? I think all it did was make the anti-establishment opposition look like looney toons to more moderate EC members. We're going to need as many people as possible to change the chair in November and it's going to be even harder with all the delegate reductions.

If the EC members are too cowardly to hold their public officials accountable, they ought to join Snyder, Schuette, Calley and the rest of the criminals as they get the boot from the party.

Funny, she ran unopposed. So other than you, this delusional author and Maddock, who else is there to lead this group?
Do you know how silly you sound as most of the removed seats were empty and the majority of the filled seats were Mungioli supporters?
Remember a leader rolls up their sleeves, digs in pulls with the team. Anyone can sit on the sidelines and do nothing but complain, but you already know that from expereince.

Check the date of when the article was written. Then you will realize what a complete bumbling idiot you are. And everyone reading knows it too!
