Donald Ducking Duke: Trump’s betrayal of Republican’s Abolitionist roots.

Apparently Donald Trump’s supposed affinity for Hairpieces is not his only flirtation with WHIGS. Since the Iowa caucuses robocalls, endorsements, and rumors of ties with White Supremacist groups have been quietly dogging the yuuuuge campaign juggernaut that is the Donald. The issue finally came to a head this last week when the media decided to finally start asking the Donald actual questions, rather than lobbing Morning Joe softballs.
On Sunday the supposed Not a politician,in perpetuum presidential candidate, with the rumored Genius level IQ, claimed to be unaware of who David Duke even was, and was apparently unaware of why the question even applied to his campaign.

This latest controversy is opening the doors for many to ask, who is the real Donald Trump?  Is he the Political genius outsider?  or is he a Bondesque evil genius billionaire plotting to rule the world?  Here is a second Link of Dana Loesch explaining the article for Donald’s base, as he describes them, the “poorly educated he “Loves so much.”

To be Fair we need to follow the Complete timeline.
In February, 2000, Donald Trump revealed that he knew enough about Duke to point out that the Klan member’s entourage is “not company I wish to keep.”
At the time, Trump was considering running for the presidency on the Reform Party ticket. He ultimately refused to go for the nomination, citing the party’s troubling connections.
”So the Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani. This is not company I wish to keep,” Trump said.

For Weeks it has been Reported that White supremacists have been Defending and sharing Trumps message, and Trump is sharing theirs.….
It goes back to Iowa, with White Supremacist groups doing Robocalls for Trump:  The pattern was repeated in multiple states.

Last week it came to a head, with Trump confronted on Friday: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday disavowed a former Ku Klux Klan leader’s support.
I didn’t even know he endorsed me,” Trump said while unveiling an endorsement from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, when asked about former KKK grand wizard David Duke’s support.   “David Duke endorsed me? OK, alright. I disavow, OK? Trump said, seeking to quickly move on to another question.

Two days later on CNN Trump showed a True Judas moment as he claimed Not once, Not Twice, but three times even knowing who David Duke was ….
Here was answer No. 1: “Just so you understand. I don’t know anything about David Duke, OK? I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know — did he endorse me or what’s going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you’re asking me a question that I’m supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.”
When Tapper followed up, here was answer No. 2: “Well, I have to look at the group. I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I’d have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.”
Tapper then specified that he was talking about David Duke and the Klan, here was answer No. 3: “Honestly, I don’t know David Duke. I don’t believe I’ve ever met him. I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet him. And I just don’t know anything about him.
Later Sunday Trump again Flip Flopped: “As I stated at the press conference on Friday regarding David Duke- I disavow.”
Then Monday blamed a Faulty earpiece for his confusion: “I’m sitting in a house in Florida with a very bad earpiece that they gave me,” Trump said on NBC’s Today show regarding an interview broadcast Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “And you can hardly hear what he was saying.”  (No report on whether Trump cussed out and threatened to fire the Tech guy)

Duke made headlines this week when he told the audience of his radio program that voting for anyone besides Trump “is really a treason to your heritage.” BuzzFeed News first reported his comments.  “When this show’s over, go out, call the Republican Party, but call Donald Trump’s headquarters, volunteer,” Duke said. “They’re screaming for volunteers. Go in there, you’re gonna meet people who are going to have the same kind of mindset that you have.”

David Duke: Trump ‘Knows Who I Am’
The former KKK Grand Wizard says he understands what Trump is saying about white supremacists. Others are less forgiving.
Donald Trump’s refusal to distance himself from former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke on CNN Sunday has caused mixed reactions from those who have supported or criticized the Republican frontrunner — including Duke himself. In a phone interview with The Daily Beast, the former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard said it was ridiculous to condemn Trump. If he disavows me fine,” Duke said. “Let him do whatever he thinks he needs to do to become president of the United States.”
In the end, the real Question comes down to the basic question, Does the Party of Lincoln, the Party that ended Slavery, the Party that elected dozens of Blacks to congress and uncountable Former slaves to state and local positions after the Civil war, the party that introduced and passed Civil rights legislation, stand for this? The KKK was a creation of the Democrat party, they were the militant enforcement arm of the Democrat party until the 1940’s and beyond.
Will the Republican party betray it’s abolitionist roots, and instead join with the Whigs, and go the way of the party that defended slavery and Bigotry…
We have a choice in Michigan

We can vote out of Fear for a man whose record on Conservative issues is built on quicksand because we think Morality and Principles are outdated Ideals.

We can go to the polls next week and vote on Principles.

Not a Trump supporter, but I think this Klan smear is ridiculous. Political candidates do not get to pick their supporters; things work the other way around. The SPLC estimates Klan membership at 5,000 today, and this is probably a gross overestimate given SPLC's neocommunist orientation. SPLC and their fellow travelers would have pulled this stunt against whomever was leading the Republican race, including my preferred candidate.

Does anyone actually think that Donald Trump would court the Klan when he is way ahead in the polls? How many votes can the Klan deliver today? Do the math. Then denounce these baseless smears lest they be used on your preferred Republican candidate.

In the eyes of the neocommunist left, we are all Klansmen. Screw them. I will not dignify their trash talking.

      Great point.

You know Duke probably knows how to read, drinks water on occasion, and may use a schick razor.

Obviously Reading, hydrating, and having a close comfortable shave is racist.

Trump seems to be leading a cult of personality. He viciously attacks anyone who criticizes him (even those who are potential allies). He seems to be virtually incapable of rejecting anyone who claims to support him. I think that's why he can't denounce the white supremacists supporting him, even when it makes political sense to do so. The left calls us all racists, but that doesn't mean real racists don't exist.

It's noteworthy that Trump denounced Pat Buchanan, who was and is a true conservative. Trump is now running on a similar platform. His past rejection of Buchanan would indicate that he doesn't believe it.

The same crap was attempted on Ron Paul. In fact David Duke sent Paul a campaign contribution. Typically the media flipped out and Paul responded that he would not send the money back because donations to him represented people endorsing his values not him endorsing theirs. Stop the groundless guilt by association. This is not an endorsement of Trump.

The issue is not so much the endorsement, as it is the daily change in stance. Does anyone believe Donald Duck really does not know who Duke is?
Anyone paying attention sees that Trump embraces the moment, not actual principles.

      Patriotist,

I would offer that not one of the presidential candidates has EVER embraced actual principles (let alone simple math)...when not one of them will speak to an older generation intentionally playing dumb:

I don't respect anybody who won't speak to our children's future in terms of the sacrifice needed (now) to give these kids a chance.

Bullsquash. Trump is the first Republican who refused to play the "Do you disavow..." game when it comes to racism. Not voting for him, but at least he's smart enough to know the only way Republicans win at this scam is by refusing to play.
