Unfortunately, because my bills don't pay themselves, I'll be at my "day job" at that time, or I would definitely attend the Grand Rapids event.

I remember seeing, sometime around Wednesday, an Electoral College map that was based on reliable research polling (as specifically opposed to agenda-driven media polling). That map looked something like this (click to view full size):

Better is that, from what I understand, the Trump-Pence ticket has the momentum advantage in every single one of those "toss up" states, needing only Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to lock down the win. If all twelve of those states land in Trump's column, then we're looking at electoral vote totals similar to the inverse of the previous two quadrennial contests (Trump in a roughly 3-to-2 drubbing of Clinton). Add in Connecticut, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Oregon (all of which currently are only "leaning" Clinton), and it becomes the inverse of Bill Clinton's two Electoral College wins (Donald in a roughly 7-to-3 rout over Hillary), though Trump will likely still become the first president-elect since Wilson to win the Electoral College without winning his home state.

And the probability of this outcome is evidenced by the reality that the Clinton-Kaine ticket has spent the entire month of October on defense in the Electoral College, wasting resources in states that conventional reckoning indicates should be safely in their column. Why else would Tim Kaine and Chelsea Clinton have both been in Michigan this weekend? Why else, out of the 42 pending events listed on the official campaign calendar (not including fundraisers), are 39 of them scheduled for the toss up states? (Only Arizona and Nebraska are getting any love from the campaign this late, though corporate media pundits insist that Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah are within her reach.) In fact, for the entire month of October, Arizona and Minnesota are the only "not tossup" states to receive any attention from Clinton, Kaine, or one of their high-profile surrogates (seriously . . . Minnesota . . . at least three times that I counted).

Why can Trump or Pence pack sports arenas to overflowing on not two days' notice, but Clinton, Kaine, or one of their surrogates cannot fill a high school auditorium with bused-in paid attendees? I suspect that this isn't going to be even close to close.

(KRH) Keep in mind that this last (failed) grassroots conservative movement never viewed voter fraud as a priority any more than the Republican Party that they were (cough) 'publicly' claiming to change.
Most all those freshly recruited during the last 2 election cycles were more interested in building GOP data banks/placing recording devices in polls than even so much as 'suggesting' that Republicans use those same (wasted) massive resources to preserve their actual votes.

    If the Donald loses?

The above fact will be our generation's most enduring shameful legacy this side of our failure to broach even the SIMPLEST of freedom robbing (major) issues negatively affecting ALL elections and by extension our children's future (FOIA/Open Meeting Act Reform, transparency in general, talent robbing term limits and far too many others to list here).

We can't 'end run' the hard work required to destroy corruption or reform our system with a pull-'this'-out-of-the-blue candidate (only) using an already corrupted system which we have long refused to fix (despite voter fraud being the #1 barrier to freedom everywhere FOR **CENTURIES**).

If we can't prioritize as a movement or get caught up in only what is best for ourselves? (Tea Party silence on pension issues/the takeover of our communities by non-profits, our refusal to organize at school board meetings/public gatherings, etc., etc. etc.).

We will never lead or certainly be led around incompetently by others (instead).

      Tom Backers on November 3rd:
"Real Clear Politics has Trump down 3 (within the margin) as of yesterday..."

...with very few (if any) Republican "poll challengers" likely (historically) to be either physically challenging voters or absentee ballots in the very polling precincts widely known and very likely to throw this election (not to mention every one previous).

Our kids will someday realize that not one of their grandparents (purposely) bothered to show up physically protected (or not) where their future was being decided.

As they come to grips with that fact and compare it with the largest security force in Michigan history 'protecting' the vote not 4 years ago during Right To Work and the absolute SILENCE from grassroots conservatives, legislators or those feigning to be 'shocked' immediately afterwards? (ditto for absolutely NO protests in 2016) ????

Our generation spanning shame will then be realized in its entirety.

We'll see tomorrow if truly having a place to debate anything 'conservative' here in Michigan (without being attacked personally) was indeed a factor in getting the word out (professionally) for 7+ years.

There is no substitute for Alinsky rule #5 in terms of winning the day and our kids (thankfully) will easily recognize this fact very early when true debate (finally) begins again..'if' they do a better job of recognizing that particular rule than us.

As a conservative I relish the opportunity to spread the positive message of pro-liberty ideals. The Constitution, the rule of law, individual property rights, federalism, and free market economics compose the foundation of our republic.

It is the only political cocktail the world has ever know to successfully combat tyranny, poverty and starvation, the only framework within which affordable housing, healthcare and energy are made possible, and the only societal construct in the world within which we are encouraged, nay demanded, to debate ideas and issues however messy. The "truth will win out" as the old axiom goes.

Both major political parties to some degree are now wavering from these principles and it seems I now occupy a pretty small corner in the room. I know we're caught up in election fervor today and tomorrow but the presentation of conservative ideas must continue if we ever plan on rebuilding our country.

Regardless of who wins this election the debate must take place.
