Climate change is real. The “republicans” in Congress even said so themselves.

Senate Amendment 29 to SB-1 (Keystone XL Pipeline Bill):

“To express the sense of the Senate that climate change is real and not a hoax. “

And these are the people we were counting on to stop the Obama Agenda?

I can only surmise that they didn’t read the bill.

Submitted without any further comment.

Yeah, that seem to be happening a lot lately.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got snow that needs to be shoveled in my sidewalk/driveway.

Here you go, KG! ...a little something to get you warmed up from all that shoveling.

Lemme see here... a 16.7% sales tax hike .. 30% registration fee hike .. unstable gas and diesel prices due to a wholesale tax scheme ... and, to top it off an 8% hike on y'alls City Water.

Oh, I'm gonna touch on that on in a post that I've been in the process of cobbling together this week.

You guys should go tell Paul Gross that he's got it all wrong.

Well, I reckon one would first have to believe they are not already aboard with an agenda. I hear it's a downright scary thing to be called a weather "denier". Was told it's almost as bad as questioning anything about the ghey half-Kenyan's background.

Besides... can you say, Chinese steel? You soon will.

OK someone helped me with an epiphany on this..

There was another amendment that was defeated that said "Climate change is "man made" so THIS one was introduced.

Think about it. Climate change is real. If you deny the very basic fact that the temperature differs, that it rains, then snows, then shines with sun.. well you gotta be a loon.

It has ZERO business being on the books, but there it is. A trap perhaps, but easily explained with the proper perspective.

Sure. That's why this guy introduced the amendment, and all his Earth Day celebrating buddies voted for it.

Sorry, Hoss, I gotta call bullsh!t on the someone that's a helper.

      Epiphany.

        Welp.. There we have it.

"The Senate never agreed with their increasingly discredited catastrophic man-made global-warming theory. Instead, lawmakers simply stated the obvious: the climate changes, just as it has since Earth’s creation and just as it will likely continue to change as long the planet exists."

They were laughing at the progressive turds in the punch bowl when voting for that. Thinking WAY too much into it.

Sorry, but that dog won't hunt.

Like you've mentioned above about not being not being "in the books" (Art.1, Sec. 8...Nope, nothing about the climate/environment), this amendment made about as much sense as voting on the latest zombie kill of the week from "The Talking Dead"

Can you imagine the reaction if a Senator proposed this:

"To express the sense of the Senate that Daryl taking out those walkers with that tanker truck was simply incredible.

All members in the chamber in favor say '"Aye'."

Look, this whole thing could've easily been dealt with by just voting "Present".

Since you wouldn't have the support of the majority of the body it won't go anywhere. You'll have a record of the issue being considered and most importantly you don't give the enviros anything they can cite when they want to ban things like fuel & electricity because it is harmful to Gaia.

I agree with not giving the enviros anymore ammo, legit or not. My point is simply that they did this to shut them up. In a 'there, does that make you happy?' statement, they have essentially said "here's yer damned lollypop. stop crying!"

There was no great agreement on man-made warming just a pacifier that any thinking person knows is a pacifier. Maybe they were even able to get a vote for something we would like done as well?

A resolution amendment is still only a statement, and in this case it says zero, zilch nada anyhow..

Always found the "where do you start' point quite relevant. I imagine that if we were to go back throughout the millennia, we could find enough 'hockey stick' periods to outfit the entire NHL.

I find it best to ask people sounding the "global warming/climate change/let's find a new scientific-sounding name to scare the yokels" alarm this very simple question: What formed the Great Lakes?

That pretty much always shuts them up.

        You Betcha! (6)Nuh Uh.(1)
        • January 23, 2015 at 5:32 pm

What formed the Great Lakes? Retreating glaciers, of course. That's irrelevant, however. Although the globe's climate patterns change all the time, what's important is whether we understand why those changes are taking place.

What ended the last ice age? No one knows for certain, but release of carbon dioxide from deep oceans sources is considered one possibility. That extra carbon in the atmosphere would have trapped more of the sun's energy that first entered the atmosphere as light but which bounced off the ice (a higher albedo effect than dark water), only to reradiate it as heat ... thereby warming the atmosphere and helping the glaciers retreat.

But, then again, it's January and there's snow on the ground, so probably we're in the middle of a very transitionary ice age that lasts annually from, oh, mid-December to late February.

What ended the last ice age? Definitely warming. Can this be argued?

The very fact that it happened before man had any industrial effect is more proof that it happens sans man's most impressive efforts. I imagine that if man had wanted to then, and even NOW, he couldn't have done anything about it.

But the very message that there is uncertainty (One possibility) is not a very good reflection of the science. In fact it makes the fact that we are paying dearly for all our measures of climate change 'prevention.'

Think continental drift formed the Great Lakes. Canadian Shield was not plastic, so continental drift ruptured the surface.

My issue with the cause of global warming is the total absence of solar output factors in the algorithms which purport to demonstrate global warming. Were you aware that solar output varies by +/-10%? Why we have had a climactic calming for the last 20 years.

Solar output closely correlates with sunspots. Probably space matter being drawn into the sun by gravity. Much richer fusion fuel than the sun's usual hydrogen. No significant sun spots for the last ten years.
