Michigan Political considerations.

Oh & BTW – Convention Edition

Though many may be casting a protest vote, it won't likely be for Mark Schauer

Schauer-xBad guys is just plain bad guys.

We police our own, but fact of the matter is that Democrat Mark Schauer had the biggest campaign finance violation and fine that Michigan has seen to date.  In 2007 former RM editor and operator Nick DeLeeuw noted the unmitigated gall of Schauer, and the 22 counts of his election violations:

Here’s how it worked.  Schauer decided to go ahead and raise a bunch of illegal campaign cash.  He received illegal money from Democrats including Carl Williams, Alexander Lipsey, Bob Schockman, Gretchen Whitmer, Mickey Switalski, Buzz Thomas, Liz Brater, Mike Prusi, Gilda Jacobs, Glenn Anderson and Mark Slavens and then pitched in $187,000 himself.  Mind you, the limit is $20,000.

Once the Democrats realized they’d been discovered each of the folks who currently serve in the legislature went ahead and asked for refunds.  Essentially they said “oops, our mistake, don’t punish us for it!”  Prusi, Whitmer, Switalski, Brater, Thomas, Slavens and Jacobs all took their illegal cash back, essentially admitting they’d been caught with their hands in the cookie jar and trying to make things right (well after the fact).

But no such change of heart from Mark Schauer.  When he breaks the law he stands by his criminal activity!  And he stands by his man, too.  Ken Brock, the anti-Semite who’s racist comments drew the ire of everyone in Michigan except Mark Schauer, was the Senator’s treasurer on this particular money laundering operation and signed all of the papers.

The scheme was noted and investigated.

While You Are At The Convention Part II

You will have plenty of special things to talk about

This is somehow NOT surprising.

RINOcrat_BairdMlive reports

“Top aide to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder claiming principal property tax exemptions in 2 states”

A top aide to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder who ran for a Republican precinct delegate post this month in Bath Township is registered to vote in two states and has reportedly claimed principal property tax exemptions in each.

Oh snap.

Oh yeah..  Isn’t he a voting delegate too?  Why yes, yes he is

The Money Quote

Its the easily missed truisms on display in any article of note, that are Oh-So important.

The Detroit News: “Michigan GOP braces for Tea Party Showdown”

Calley-Face” Calley, who declined to be interviewed for this story, has never publicly opposed the governor on major policy decisions, but routinely says he is “the conservative voice” inside the Snyder administration.  “

Consider this single paragraph for a moment.

The governor has Raised taxes on some, went behind the legislature’s back on the NITC, pushed hard for Obamacare in Michigan, pushes Common Core, hired several Democrats to key positions, bails out Detroit, pushes rail subsidies, and will likely sign on the dotted line when the Elliot Larsen Civil Rights act is presented for modification.  Modified so that dangerous behavior is blessed not only with the ongoing media push, but with the unforgiving and ‘intolerant’ hammer of law on those who disagree with that behavior.

All of which begs the question:  “When does your conservative voice matter Mr Calley?”

Statesman vs Politicians

declaration

STATESMEN VS POLITICIANS :

“The Greatest LIE in American Politics is this: THAT WHAT ONE IS OR DOES IN PRIVATE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW THEY ACT OR RULE IN PUBLIC.
We are told an Officials Political and Private lives are separate. That past failures are not to be considered as evidence of future possibilities. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH, FOR ONE’S CHARACTER FROM WITHIN WILL BE REVEALED IN DUE TIME, WHILE IN PUBLIC OFFICE. WHILE THE PENDULUM SWINGS, PEOPLES LIVES, LIBERTY, AND PROPERTY HANG IN THE BALANCE.

IF YOU HAVE BEEN A POLITICIAN OR OFFICIAL, WHOSE RHETORIC IS INCONSISTENT, SWAYING WITH THE BREEZES, (or the winds of Donors) ALLIANCES OF THE MOMENT OVER-RIDING LONG TERM PRINCIPLES, WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE FOOLED WITH YOUR CHANGING RHETORIC USED TO HIDE YOUR RECORD.
WE WILL KEEP THE STATESMAN, ELEVATE THOSE WE TRUST, THOSE WHO HAVE STOOD BY US, AND PROMOTE THE REST BACK TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF OUR REPUBLIC, THAT OF SIMPLE CITIZEN. PAST SERVICE WILL BE REWARDED WHEN DESERVED, AND DISMISSED WHEN APPROPRIATE.”

(Paraphrased) Plymouth Rock Foundation Executive Director, Paul Jehle
Webster’s Dictionary defines a Statesman as:
1: one versed in the principles or art of government; especially : one actively engaged in conducting the business of a government or in shaping its policies
2: one who exercises political leadership wisely and without narrow partisanship

   Politician is defined as:
1: a person experienced in the art or science of government; especially : one actively engaged in conducting the business of a government
2 a: a person engaged in party politics as a profession b: a person primarily interested in political office for selfish or other narrow usually short-sighted reasons

Common Core and the Trucker Wiser Flip-Flop Connection

Like a bad horror movie called a Nightmare on Christmas Eve this script features questionable characters. Starring in this production is Ebenwiser Scrooge a man with millions of unscrupulous ways to buy political seats. Common Core Wiser Vote No

Co-Starring is the clumsy overweight not too bright fella “Bad Santa.” This con-man known as “Bad Santa” looks like he’s been hanging out at a Fat Fellas BBQ convention.

As the movie unfolds it turns out this real “Bad Santa” is a radio show co-host on the poorly rated, small market and very undesirable RINO Supporters Broadcasting Network (RSBN).

And Another Look At Common Core ‘Opponents’

Karen Braun posts Common Core expert Melanie Kurdys’ thoughtful commentary on the issue, and current candidates.

sccmichigan-banner2From Stop Common Core in Michigan

Today, I received intel that both Weiser and Calley are claiming to be against Common Core. This is news to me. In the 2 1/2 years I have been fighting this issue, I have never seen evidence of either of them even being sufficiently informed of the issue, let alone standing up to try to stop it from coming into Michigan.

Start the week off RIGHT.

Grassroots in Michigan – Latest ‘Wes Press’ This is an interesting floor battle shaping up.  In the end is it REALLY about Calley, or is it about Snyder and more progressivism? Wes Nakagiri talks about the role of Delegates.

Capitol Confidential – Union Dues Skim stopped at US Supreme Court. We still argue there are folks that should be behind bars for this.

THIRD Party Rumblings (2nd Party, really…) and the REAL SOLUTION.

The Republican Party Needs an Enema! (barring that, some competition)

As individual operatives, patriots, and the “simply ticked-off” Americans engage in the political process once more in the intra-party politics of conventions, let us remember, this is not the only avenue. As you see the corruption and tactics of evil men in the party (holding onto their power at all costs) unfold, remember and that every road has its own pitfalls, opportunities and rules. Remember also, competition is a healthy consequence and a rich conservative tradition that Republicans have apparently forgotten when it applies to them or within their ranks. Consider the following…

With the primaries behind us for this election year, the disappointment and anger felt over those who lived sacrificially for the cause of liberty over the past 6-months-to-a-year is apparent and understandable, adding to the apathy of the spectators (who, if they’d actually gotten involved would have made a difference, but instead sought to confirm their apathetic notions with self-fulfilling prophecy after complaining). So now, I see people saying they’re thinking third party as recourse to the electorially ab[w]horrent behavior of the evil men and women in power in the Republican Party.

I’ve written about this before, and it always happens when people actually get involved in the electoral process, who naysay’d early warners beforehand about what kind of corruption and illegal activity is going on to keep the “right” people in power, from the highest offices in each district to the lowest. (Interestingly, the lower office you seek, the harder it is to find out how, which in itself is a means to keep power. Nice, huh?)

However, before anyone who reads this gets wound up with emotion about the issue, pro or con, consider the following with your higher intellect first, please. (For those who like conclusion first papers, skip to FACT 9, and then come back and read the rest. All others who prefer a logical progression to revelation, continue…)
