   The facility was closed down in June after treating 16 patients total after it opened in April. The state says it's preparing for a potential surge in cases later this fall.

   The State of Michigan renewed a lease for its field hospital in Novi through the end of 2020 in preparation for a potential "second wave" of COVID-19 cases.

   The original contract the state signed with the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River in Novi, was set to expire Sept. 30. The state entered into a new agreement with the convention center that will extend its lease to use the facility as a field hospital to treat COVID-19 patients through the end of 2020.

   The contract's new terms — provided to Hometown Life by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget — reduces the rent well as the space: the new contract calls for the state to pay the convention $975,000 a month for October, November and December.

   Isn't that nice of our House and Senate Nancy-boys to spend our money like that in Novi? Oh, and that's on top of the $9,000,000 squandered on election fraud central.

   Meanwhile, the stern letter writing intensifies.
