KG One

Pluck your magic twanger…and help out a good cause at the same time.

If you’re near St. Clair Shores this weekend, especially around the Nautical Mile, swing into Brownie’s on the Lake off of Jefferson and check out what’s happening this Saturday Night.

Starting at 8pm, The Ghoul and his Madhouse of Mystery will be appearing along with  WRIF/WCSX air personality Doug Podell as Spooktacular Guest MC.

There’s no cover to get in and food will be available. No, I won’t get into the whole “Shorian Pride” thing, although it is a nice restaurant.

The purpose of this event is to help raise funds for The Wounded Warrior Project.

Donations to Wounded Warriors can be made at the door and are greatly appreciated.

Help out a good cause and have some fun at the same time this Saturday at 8pm.

Does anyone really think that the children are ready to be handed the keys?

If anyone can believe it, this has been kind of an important week for Detroit.

Most of us didn’t expect it would come to this point.

Seeing as how they pretty much broke the all rules to get here explains a lot on how that was really accomplished.

But nonetheless, a ceremonial milestone (albeit unofficial one) was passed.

Now for the all important question; Are the children ready to act responsibly and lead?

It’s done. Stick a fork in her US Senate Campaign.

In a largely self-funded campaign that has adopted the unique strategy of avoiding contact with the voters as much as humanly possible, the running comedy of the republican-anointed candidate for US Senate had taken yet another hit this week.

And who is jumping ship this time might surprise you.

Give ‘em Hell, Kerry!

One of the highpoints from multiple outlets in the local media last night was the announcement from a certain incumbent US Representative candidate against a certain foreclosure king, some democrat (and maybe a Libertarian).

Okay, it’s kind of hard to tease this one.

Yes, it is official: Kerry Bentivolio WILL be running as a write-in candidate in the November 4th General.

It doesn’t mean that there isn’t more to add.

Not so fast there, Eric.

He should be held somewhere for the time being until he can testify before Congress. Leavenworth is a good place to start.

If you haven’t heard the news yet on the 24-hour news cycles, race-baiter extraordinaire AG Eric Holder is due to shortly announce his “resignation”.

AG Holder has provided an outstanding example of upholding the finest qualities of the American Legal System.

Let’s take a look at some of those examples…

Don’t try it, Speaker Bolger.

With the days of the 97th Michigan Legislature winding down, things are beginning to get real interesting in the days leading up to the general.

In an effort to not appear “bigoted”, “mean-spirited”, “close-minded”…pretty much called everything up to (if not) including the Anti-Christ, you really got to hustle to get those thousands in donations from LGBTIQ-groups like Tim Gill Foundation & ATT Michigan (can’t forget the DeVos’), into your Restore Michigan Fund to show some returns.

But you don’t want to infuriate your party’s base any more than they already are and hand over the Governor’s Office and the Michigan House over to the democrats.

Well, Speaker Bolger thinks that he may have found a solution.

“Macomb County Human Rights Policy” – UPDATE

So here’s the rundown from this morning.

The LGBTIQ (whatever that stands for anymore) crowd, along with PFLAG, Sterling Heights “One Love”, Unity Michigan, several Unitarian Ministers and some guy from the Michigan ACLU had about twice as supporters on hand compared to those against granting special rights and infringing upon Religious Liberty.

The meeting had a last-minute addition shoved onto the agenda which delayed the consideration & vote for almost an hour and a half due to a “closed session” item (and no, I have no idea what that was all about).

The final vote on the “Human Rights Policy” was 8-5 broken down like this:

Reminder: “Macomb County Human Rights Policy” to be voted on by Macomb County Board of Commissioners Thursday Morning.

Just a reminder to everyone that the Macomb County Board of Commissioners will be voting on the “Macomb County Human Rights Policy”  tomorrow morning (September 18th) at 9:00am in the County Administration Building (9th Floor)  in downtown Mount Clemens..

Short version for those of you who may be unaware, it is a method of incrementally expanding Elliot-Larsen to include LGBTIQ language.

A copy of the meeting packet is here (starting on page 6).

Also, given the amount of public support it received at the September 8th meeting (no one came out to speak in favor of it), the LGBTIQ-crowd will reportedly be out in force tomorrow.

What part of “Hell No” do you not understand, Senator?

I’ve had a few people ask me about what we can expect to see from the Michigan Legislature in the coming days.

My pat response has been to the effect nothing of substance for a few weeks. This is after all, an election year.

They are surprised by my response until I include the caveat that prognostication will hold only until November 5th. After than date, you will see legislation introduced that you would never have imagined by republicans.

…by the company they keep.

Chairman B.S. and the rest of Team-“r” might want to pull back on the mutual admiration society they kludged together and reach for a bottle of Maalox®.

Things aren’t shaping up too well in the fantasy world they created for voters this November.

On second thought, skip the Maalox® and go straight to the Prilosec OTC ®.

So what happened now?
