League Of Women Voters Called Out For Partisanship

6 Republicans cancel appearance at LWV event in Traverse City

It might as well be a Democrat forum.

Republican commission candidates in Grand Traverse County Michigan are through with the league of women voters. The league has always been ‘suspect’ but appeared to be respectful, and provided a forum to all candidates with no spoken bias.

However, after CEO of the national League of Women Voters was arrested for engaging in civil disobedience protesting the Kavanaugh nomination, it was clear the illusion of neutrality has been blown.  There can be no way that the LWV can be trusted to perform such informational services without bias, and that their ‘neutrality’ is for IRS purposes only.

Saturday Funnies

Just when we aren't looking, Democrats found another way to game the process.

Fake tea parties, pretending to give voters representation in redistricting, fake concern for children..

When will it all end?

And NOW they seem to have found a way to get their candidates extra leverage with a little known system called “compound vote tallying.”

It just ain’t fair.

The Danger Of The Left

Change you can believe .. ?

There have always been ideological differences between Ds and Rs and some other variations of the political spectrum.

What has held this country together however, is shared experience, similar desires for prosperity, and common pursuits that are rooted in the similar values. The nation has survived, thrived, and become stronger because of this. Our state and federal constitutions reflect the principle foundations upon which we as society agree to govern ourselves upon.

There are people however, that have been trying to twist those commonalities.  Recent suggestions that there is ‘polarization’ in our state and country are largely true.  Although conservatives and traditionalists can rightly argue that there has been little shift in their beliefs and mores, there can be no question the separation of ‘left’ and ‘right’ is growing.

We are a nation under siege from within.

In the video on the right, Whitmer’s extremist gubernatorial pick, displays a perfect example of what ‘Change’ has meant since we first heard that simple word used in the 2008 presidential elections.

“Movement to win this election. Because we need a movement to actually lead in Michigan. Movements are what make change happen. Movements are what deliver legislative wins. Movements are how we get to redefine the values in Michigan.”

We are the change we have been waiting for, right?

Nothing To Offer

Garlin Gilchrist afraid to debate Lisa Lyons? Makes sense.

No upside to looking the fool, right?

Typically, the unknown would welcome the opportunity to gain name recognition in the political process. However sometimes campaigns bring out the inability to stand behind their ideas.  Radical leftist and former Moveon.org campaign director Garlin Gilchrist has refused to Debate Lyons.

Apparently, it would hurt the campaign terribly.

By refusing to let the extreme former Moveon.org Director Garlin Gilchrist debate against Lisa Posthumus Lyons, Gretchen Whitmer has inadvertently admitted that her lieutenant governor selection is too radical for Michigan. The Whitmer campaign would keep Gilchrist hidden from voters so they cannot discover his past support of Hamas, criticism of Israel and its supporters, as well as unqualified support for handing out driver’s licenses to those who should not have them.

Schuette campaign spokesman Stu Sandler says:

“As a former Moveon.org campaign director, Garlin Gilchrist holds radical beliefs that are too extreme for Michigan. Gretchen Whitmer does not want voters to find out about Gilchrist’s far-left policies supporting Hamas, criticizing Israel and its supporters, and support for giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants”

Lisa Lyons Posthumus challenged Garlin Gilchrist to three debates, but the Whitmer campaign called the debates a “non-starter” because they were fearful of voters getting to know Gilchrist’s radical positions. Sandler asks

Body Language

Personally, I think Ford is lying.

I don’t want to pretend sympathy, and give her some BS benefit of the doubt. Her statements are contrived, and she is manipulating the supposed adults in the room with her mousey voice and child like vulnerability. She is clearly an activist playing a dangerous game of political destruction by falsehood and theatrical presentation.

What angers me most about this, is what it does to all of the sons and brothers of women everywhere, as well as truthful women themselves who when all of this shakes out, will have to wonder if they might possibly be believed, and if it is worth it.

A body language interpreter explains in these two videos below, the difference between Ford, and Kavanaugh in recent public exposure.

Not This Year

NPV efforts in Michigan will not bear fruit this year, but ..

Yesterday, some good people gathered in Lansing to let legislators know that NPV was maybe not such a good idea.

They were apparently well received. And though there were no absolutes on future efforts, it was made clear that nothing will happen this year to give the progressive left it’s holy grail, a full blown democracy, when electing the president.  Norm Hughes who in large part organized the day long effort writes afterward:

Thank you to all the Patriots that went to Lansing today to talk with legislators. Several dozen were involved and they were truly great. We got firm commitments in both houses that National Popular Vote (NPV) will not be voted on this year. We also picked up at least 12 more NO votes on Convention Of States, meaning we have the votes to defeat it if they bring it up in the lame duck session.

This NPV snafu came at a terrible time, taking volunteers from campaigns to Lansing to educate the very candidates who want their help. I can tell you some top officials think it was one cluster ***. Those who took the Hawaii junket might have fulfilled their obligation to push it but it backfired, How are they going to explain that to their benefactors?

A “terrible time” indeed.

I can tell you that there are certain legislators who signed on that will still feel the pain.  When looking for the door knockers, local offices have found that certain representative candidates are not inspiring a ground swell of optimism.  They may well win their respective contests, but rightfully, they will have to work harder to do so.

Mr Hughes mentioned in a separate post on Facebook that some of the legislators responded positively to the Proportional Electors idea.  This is something which the electoral college was designed to accommodate.  There are two states, Maine, and Nebraska, which do not follow the winner take all formula.

Say NO To NPV – RALLY September 25

If you can break free, rally to defeat the misguided effort to destroy our Republic.

Sept 25, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Anderson House Office Building – 124 N Capitol Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48933

Michigan lawmakers are moving legislation to undermine your vote for President of the United States. If it becomes law, your local delegates will be controlled by the National Popular Vote winner, NOT you, the voters. It is known as “The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.. It takes advantage of a loop hole in the Constitution. Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 2, Line 1. Come out to the Rally and learn how to stop this in your state.

Madmen

Ted Nugent, Bill Schuette, and Lisa Lyons light up Traverse City

Sometimes it just gets way too busy.

It was unfortunate that I had a library board meeting at the same time the Ted Nugent appearance with Bill Schuette & Lisa Lyons was happening.  It was also unfortunate that the meeting which should have lasted 20 minutes, went on for a half hour because I had to defend the first amendment and fight for better crafted policy.

Sometimes the fun stuff has to wait.

And though I was unsuccessful in defeating a poorly written screed not worth the ink used to print, I was at least fortunate enough to catch the headline crew as they worked their way out the back door.   I don’t think I broke any speeding laws in my 20 minute drive from Kingsley back to the heart of TC, but even if I had?

These pics below would have been worth it.

Whitmer’s Swamp

Lansing Establishment Rallies to Gretchen Whitmer’s Side to Stop Schuette.

I told ya so.

Snyder’s cronies mean business. And the gators love themselves a progressive Democrat.

Government insiders pick Whitmer to protect them after Schuette stood up to the Lansing establishment on Flint and Ingham County establishment on Nassar and Dunnings

The Bill Schuette for Governor campaign said today that endorsements of Senator Gretchen Whitmer by members of the Lansing establishment are a signal that Gretchen Whitmer is the insiders’ choice to protect the status quo.

Stu Sandler, spokesman for Schuette says

“As Attorney General, Bill Schuette has been standing up for victims and families.  Gretchen Whitmer has made a career of standing with special interests and Lansing insiders.  It’s not a surprise that the same people who have been trying to stop Schuette from getting justice in Flint are the same people supporting Gretchen Whitmer.  Schuette is willing to take on Lansing bureaucrats, Gretchen Whitmer will always side with special interests,”

Schuette takes on the establishment, even of his own party

As Attorney General, Bill Schuette has taken on the establishment at many levels, putting him on the side of Michigan families instead of government insiders.

–       Flint Water: Schuette was the first to stand up and start an investigation into the poisoning of thousands of children, women, and men. In fact, Schuette stood up to an administration of his own party to do so and continues on today despite a non-stop onslaught of opposition to ongoing criminal cases taking place in a court of law by those who have endorsed Whitmer today.

–       Nassar:  Bill Schuette was the only prosecutor to step up and take on the Nassar investigation and prosecution, successfully putting Nassar behind bars, giving survivors the opportunity to face Nassar and address the world, and investigate and charge officials at the university.

–       Ingham County Corruption: Bill Schuette is the prosecutor who challenged the Ingham County government establishment and cleaned up the corruption mess created by former Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings by charging criminal activities and securing a conviction.

Sandler rightly points out

“Gretchen Whitmer has an unaccomplished record as a public official, passing only three bills into law in 14 years and failing to successfully take on the establishment in Lansing, Ingham County, or anywhere else.  Bill Schuette has a strong record of doing the right thing, even when it meant going against his own party to do so.  He took on the Lansing and Ingham insiders as attorney general and will do so as governor,”

The Deep State …yes?
