26 Cent Gas Increase?

We expected the gas tax increase to bring about a $0.07 gas, and $0.11 diesel bump, but ..

We are getting reports from around the state show increases are a little higher.  In Traverse City, Gasoline that was at $2.33 per gallon jumped to $2.47, and stations with  $2.35 gas jumped to $2.59.  It seems there is some confusion caused by the GOP led legislature’s ‘Christmas’ present of 2015.

What is happening where you are at?

When I punched in the prices around my corner of the state this AM (southern Macomb), things were, for the most part anyway, unchanged.

I'm not sure if it had to do with the weekly fluctuation in prices or not. Around here they mostly spike during the weekend and fall during the middle of the week.

On a side note: some friends didn't heed my advice (the same thing that you had suggested earlier), and go to the SoS to save some $$$ before Jan 1st.

Adding insult to injury, it seems that the good people there decided to take an early break and close up shop on Friday.

A quick trip to their website remedied some of that, but not all of them were able to renew before the weekend.

    🙁

And some people wonder why I'm not a straight-ticket republican?

If my Senator, Wayne Schmidt, had voted against the gas tax increase (which makes Michigan the 2nd highest gas tax in the nation) we wouldn't be under this oppressive tax burden today.
