21st Century Education Commission

This Summer's Dog and Pony Shows Commence With A Brazen Common Core Promotion

Dog and Poney Show Image 4Governor Snyder announced his 21st Century Education Commission in Executive Order 2016-6 last week. According to his press release:

“The commission will be responsible for analyzing top performing education systems in the nation, identifying issues impacting Michigan’s academic success, and recommending changes to restructure Michigan’s education system.”

You will be forgiven for harboring suspicions that this is another vehicle to promote Common Core. It is. Same type of political сове́т that did such a fine job promoting Proposal 2015-01.  Remember TAMC?  This playbook is getting old.

Note that Governor Snyder’s press release makes no mention of determining the acceptable level of graft in Michigan’s urban school districts. The real difference between top performing school districts in Michigan and their failing peers.  You can bet your bottom dollar that the 21st Century Education Commission will not touch corruption with a ten foot pole.  But that perennial government favorite, new taxes, will get prominent coverage.

The 21st Century Education Commission is just another ‘dog and pony show’ to distract Michigan voters from real solutions, and provides cover to legislators determined to vote against their constituents wishes. Michigan government stopped working years ago, so now we are left with optics.  What used to be called ‘dog and pony shows’.

Design Of Experiments ImageSpeaking of Michigan malfunctions, Governor Snyder just asked the Legislature to extend the Flint water emergency 122 days, until August 14th. Contradicts all the happy talk yesterday about Flint water lead levels dropping. None of the recent Flint lead testing conforms to a properly designed experiment, but this was just another exercise in optics. Conducted by idiots.  The people of Flint are truly screwed.  You will be hearing about lead flakes for a very long time.  Long after our August 2nd primary has been conducted.

Food for thought.

The folks (thankfully) fighting Common Core here in Michigan for many years have had a tough time gaining traction with those who not only profess to hate it but frankly teach it as well. A quick look at the #1(?) source of information surrounding this fight pretty much tells this story with no mention (as of yet) regarding last week's edict.
Thank you 10x25 for sparking yet another fire which these patriots have been tending for quite some time with little to no help whatsoever.

History will also note that but one organization of any political consequence in Michigan has ever even WEIGHED IN on Common Core for all these years.
    Think about that
Common Core is the #1 political issue affecting our children's every day harassment and overall future this side of the perverted social experiments conducted on them with our blessings (apathy). Read the letter below by but one (woman) patriot who can't even speak unanimously for the rest of the women in her political group.
History will also note that the vast majority performing the peon grunt work fighting this or bucking the masters of the universe here in Michigan are women.
At least some Republican (establishment born) women can swing the sword of true patriotism when it truly counts.

Gee, one would think that after the slam-bang up job Lansing had done with the EM law (and subsequent fallout from it), that the CPA with the MBA would've learned his lesson by now and decided to stick to only the things that state government should be doing?

Not when Dick and Betsy are pumping $400k per quarter into the Team R coffers.

You'll get their Common Core and, like it!
