Gov. Snyder is going to have fun shuckin’ and jiving Michigan Taxpayers (again) when word on this spreads.
So what did he do (now)?
{Story continues after the fold}
It wasn’t that long ago that our illustrious governor (after some serious behind-the-scenes arm twisting by the several of the DIA backers/players), tried shoveling the line that Michigan Taxpayers “needed” to bailout Detroit as part of its restructuring plan (PoA).
But what is wrong with selling off any of Detroit’s assets first?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
You cannot sell of Detroit’s assets. There are many legal pitfalls that would come into play if we did that. No, this must be done quickly. We must be forward-thinking and give Detroit $350-million $195-million as part of a “grand bargain”.
So after getting a significant portion of the republican caucus to sell their souls as part of this bargain, cha-ching, the state cut Detroit a check for $195-million.
Now, you would think that a city that sat on the fiscal edge for so long would be a little more cognizant regarding how people around Michigan perceive the inner goings on within Detroit.
Live within your means.
No more questionable expenses.
Be transparent on spending.
Don’t do anything stupid like give out raises?
Um, I don’t think the people running this circus read that last bullet point in the memo.
That’s right, True believers, Detroit EM Kevyn Orr felt that it was in the interest of “fairness” that a large block of city employees and elected officials were deserving of a 5% pay hike!
Gotta be fair. Need to keep the best and brightest (…isn’t that the usual B.S. answer in a situation like this?).
And, oh yeah, did I mention that Detroit Mayor Duggan and Detroit City Council were unaware of this until it was reported in the local media just recently.
Looking forward to hearing the guv try and spin this.
Clueless Jenny did what Clueless Jenny did because she is a demoncrap and its expected. Even she wasn't as clueless as Snideturd can ever be.
