Welcome to the Party

This is why I appreciate money, and those who appreciate using it wisely as much as I do.

The ballot proposal would increase Michigan’s 6 percent sales tax [16.7%] to 7 percent as part of a complex plan to raise [registration fees 30% and double taxes on gas and diesel] $1.2 [$1.9] billion more annually for roads [and $410 million going to the IRS]. But the plan, hatched by Snyder and lawmakers last month, also earmarks $300 million for schools, $260 million for tax credits for the working poor [illegal aliens with up to four wives] and $95 million for municipal revenue sharing.

Mitchell said it’s the “grab bag” spending on items unrelated to road repairs that Snyder and Republican legislative leaders tacked on to get Democratic votes that motivates him to spend some of his own money trying to defeat the initiative.

“In order to repair our roads, we have to pay a $700 million toll to special interests — and that just astonishes me,” Mitchell said in an exclusive interview with The Detroit News. “I think it speaks for politics as usual. Special-interest lobbyists held our roads hostage and they got a $700 million toll.”

Sorry, but, it’s unfortunate that Mr. Livengood still sees it necessary to disinform his readers, hence, the inclusion as was pointed out here on RightMi.com

OABTW, has anyone heard U.S. Rep. Moolenaar, opine on the Republican governor’s CPA shell game? No? Go figure.

RightMi.com Voting Recommendations Part 1

Suggestions for Michigan's congressional seats, Governor & Lt Governor, AG, SOS, and Prop 14-1

For the August 5th 2014 Republican Primary

First Congressional District – Dan Benishek vs. Alan Arcand

Rightmi.com recommendation is for Alan Arcand.

We have described in other articles here of the current incumbent’s inability to understand the power of congress. Elected as a ‘Tea Party’ candidate Dan Benishek failed on all levels of political activity, and fell in line with the worst of establishment Republicans earning the next to lowest conservative rating from the Heritage foundation of all Michigan’s Republicans, only second to noted RINO Fred Upton.

Arcand-CarBenishek’s service to the VA should have given him an especially good look at the inner workings of the VA, and as oversight for the last few years, it seems he is at least as culpable as the administration that Republicans are targeting on this issue. This neglect of our veterans would bite him in November when facing retired two star general Jerry Cannon who will capitalize on it. Democrats are COUNTING on Benishek being the GOP candidate.

Arcand on the other hand offers a fresh chance for Republicans to get it right. As a disabled vet, he takes the opposition tactic off the table. He understands Congress’ role as defined by the constitution, would not be afraid to withhold money from an out of control administration that has already threatened Upper Peninsula residents on the electrical grid alone.

Second Congressional District – Bill Huizenga vs. No Candidate

RightMi.com has no recommendation.

FreedomWorks Mi Score Card

FreedomWorks Issues Its 2014 Key Votes Scorecard.

A reliably conservative watchdog, FreedomWorks reflects the views of many conservative and tea types

Not surprisingly, certain lawmakers scored higher than their supposedly ideological brothers.  We have seen the squishy unprincipled selling out of the USA for far too long to not expect it to be revealed in this type of scoring.

BREAKING – Dave Camp To Bow Out

CampAnd the Michigan Congressional selection just got a little more interesting.

With only three weeks to the filing deadline, Congressman Dave Camp has said he will not seek re-election.  Rollcall reports his announcement:

“Today, I am announcing that I will not seek re-election to the United States House of Representatives,” Camp said in a statement. “This decision was reached after much consideration and discussion with my family.”

We wish him the best of luck in future endeavors.

We also hope that Peter Konetchy is ready to fend off an expected establishment chosen congressional candidate.  Konetchy is currently the only announced candidate for the 4th congressional district in Michigan

The Only One

homer-constThe Michigan congressional delegation Republicans had the right idea with regard to Roll Call 61.

Except for Michigan’s very own captain courageous, Dave Camp.  Camp along with 27 other GOP congressional critters carried the water for Democrats and Barack Obama.

Maybe he was confused by the title of the bill that raised the debt ceiling?  Only in government, can a bill with the title:

To designate the air route traffic control center located in Nashua, New Hampshire, as the “Patricia Clark Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center”

be used to continue out of control spending by an unaccountable administration that needs to have its criminal leadership removed, not rewarded with more resources.

Going forward in Michigan’s 4ths congressional district, there IS another choice.
