Apparently, things don't always go as planned.
Found this morning on Twitter:
Detroit Lions have done just about everything wrong.
So this morning's failed attempt to implode the #Silverdome fits perfectly. pic.twitter.com/oo9sIaeaDK— Philip Schuyler (@FiveRights) December 3, 2017
The power of hulk a mania is still running wild through the silver dome after all these years. They just hit the dynamite and the “old girl” didn’t even move an inch #silverdome

And a winner
We're 10 minutes post-explosion & the #Silverdome is still standing. The place must be waiting until the 4th quarter to actually implode.

The larger "joke" is on the Michigan Taxpayer.
Must be nice to find a bunch of simpletons up in Lansing willing to essentially hand out free money each and every year.
I was living in the Pontiac Area when the Silverdome was being discussed. I watched the Cities fighting for dome jurisdiction (was located in Auburn Hills) I watched the numerous imminent domain procedures--watched the enormous infrastructure tax fights--watched it all. It was an engineering wonder--that is until the roof caved in. Turns out it was a disposable building--not so disposable. The local football peewee leagues held their tournaments there--what a treat to play on the field of the big boys. This stadium held 80K and that's the real reason it's being torn down. Stadiums hold 20K are much more financially efficient. I want my money back with emotion distress damages.
