But it is clear that Donald Trump has not earned my respect or my vote.” – Republican state Rep. Lisa Posthumus Lyons (October 8, 2016)
This is the same Republican state Rep. Lisa Posthumus Lyons, Guv wannabe Bill Schuete just tapped on to be his LG.
I told you so just doesn’t cover it.
You Betcha! (13)Nuh Uh.(5)
Good Lord... KG, if that's all you have is some Billy Bush nonsense from two years ago - that nobody cares about - just to try to prop up the perpetual fart stuck crossways doom-and-gloom narrative, then I reckon Trump is indeed living rent free in the minds of pussies.
"When questioned about her 2016 post regarding Trump, Lyons said she now supports the president and the policies emerging from his administration.
"You cannot argue with the results that we’re seeing, from tax cuts for American, hard-working families to rule-of-law judges that are taking the bench throughout the nation," Lyons said."
An important fact you chose to omit: People change their minds all the time.
Unless, you're asserting that women are not allowed to.
The point, CS, is that Rep. Lyons is part of the Never Trump movement within the deep state here in Michigan.
I've lost track on how any republicans, state and national, who have had an epiphany after Pres. Trump's election.
Funny how those things go.
Do people change their minds?
Sure they do.That point was never in contention.
The important question to ask here is why did they change their mind?
The answer has more to do with trying to save face and have a "united front' when it comes to the media
(in her case a side office in the Romney Building would be nice, too).
The matter here (actually a serious problem for the Schuette Campaign) is how do you convince voters that not supporting Pres. Trump was bad when debating the current LG, but is suddenly okay when your LG choice did the very exact same thing.
Hypocrisy, much?

She is a crappy choice from an operations aspect.
We should be reminded that Trump won Michigan by less than 1 lousy vote per precinct. What this means is that all hands on deck was an absolute, and without every little effort by every single GOP voter/activist he would have possibly failed here.
its the little things.
In this case, Lyons so disgusts the grassroots who pay attention that instead of rallying for Schuette, they likely hold their nose and vote for him. That is likely consequential. this will be a race that has already engaged freaks on the left and about a half dozen ballot initiatives already bringing them out in the general.
Medicaid expansion, Campaign finance disaster, etc. The #nevertrump (October 2016 ? seriously) efforts she made in the general?
She should NEVER be trusted. You don't do that to your party presidential pick. What a stupid selfish thing to do. Typical millennial dynasty cuck.
Par for the course for "Low energy" Jeb Bush's campaign manager. He pick one of the 7 House collaborators on ObamaCame's expanding medicaid scheme. She also tried to amend our Labor Freedom law to continue to force Collections Officers to join their corrupt labor union. #NeverEverSchuette
Did you or, did you not just author on August 10th, Gretchen supports abolishing ICE?

For two two-term administrations that sonofabitch has been roaming freely- until Trump.
Now, you want to lecture voters about the importance of the Grassroots™ when your guy, a sitting legislator, narrowly beat a total unknown Jim Hines, by a paltry 20,843 votes (a margin of 2.11%)?
It's the little things.
If you're not working with Trump and Schuette, you are working for the other side. Not a damn thing has changed since November 8, 2016.
You and KG, can do with that what you will.
Sorry, but I don't blindly ignore the facts. This is where we discuss. Unless of course you want to go off and call everyone a 'cuck' for not agreeing with YOU.
As for my guy, a full analysis of the reason for voting is necessary. Bill Schuette got more than 50% of the primary vote. Not because he is a stellar candidate for all Republicans, but because he is not Calley. ]
Multiple people in my own circle preferred Pat Colbeck. However, they were disturbed by the thought of a Calley win, and voted for the guy who already had demonstrated the ability to win, but was not that bad. The Colbeck vote was the absolute hardcore principled vote of people who frankly don't give a shit about a win if it doesn't advance the cause they represent, mixed in with those who knew Schuette would win, but voted principle.
I fall into that last part, and will work to get Schuette elected, but it won't shut me up. And it's kinda funny that you might imply we should do so, when we are trying to point out the mistakes that could be avoided.
Demonstrate one place within this conversation thread where I've used the word. It was you. So, please park the virtue sniveling routine- it's low energy.
I'll state again, you and KG, can do with it what you will.
Have a better day!
Actually, Jason posted that.
I commented below it on what an incredible bone-headed (and suicidal on a national scale) idea it was by citing an extremely small sampling of examples where these people did exactly what we were reminded about (although this was directed mostly to those whom obviously had forgotten) back in 2016:
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems.... They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
The only plus side that I can say about the illegal alien problem is that this is solely a federal issue, NOT a state one.
Team "d" and to a small degree several members of Team "r" had done a slam-bang up job either prostituting themselves on this issue like Mrs. Whitmer is doing, or the rank and file who spectacularly failed basic American Civics and really don't have any clue what it is their job actually entails (or anyone else on the state-level for that matter).
Even if Whitmer wins (which unless the republican kakistocracy can pull out a really shiny object to distract Michigan Voters, is practically a certainly) anything she can do is ineffectual so long as Pres. Trump is still in office.
