I have two items to pass along to readers relating to the proposed revisions to the Social Studies Standards here in Michigan.
{Story continues below the fold}
First, due to the level of feedback from concerned Michigan Residents (to the astonishment of those concerned with not only preserving, but expanding the status quo), the comment period has been moved back to September 30th.

If you are unable to attend any of these events, you may still use the online form to pass along your comments.
If you feel that it’s okay to let your family members believe that America is somehow a democracy, that the LGBTIQ-crowd or radical black nationalists are on an equal footing with the Founding Fathers or that Islam should be taught in Michigan Classrooms (don’t worry, the ACLU won’t act like it was someone doing the same with Christianity), then do nothing and let the Michigan Board of Education adopt the revised standards.
September 30th will be here before you know it.
All of those "listen & Learn" areas are suspect.
The populations in those areas trend blue on the R&D map of the last presidential election.
Of course they are.
I included them if those reading this happen to be near to where they happen to live and wanted to make their comments in person.
Last month when I was picking up some of the younger members from my family.from their last days of school, I came across more than a few comments from other adults (whom I later found out were teachers and parapros), who were incensed at the amount of resistance they were getting and practically comparing Sen. Colbeck and the group he had assembled to the Anti-Christ.
Just like the RTA meetings, these events are scheduled in a time and place where they essentially become an echo chamber to reinforce their position.
The online form and e-mail addresses I've included earlier to the Mi BoE are another convenient option as well to make your voice heard.
