Spent a lot of today on the phone with Alan Arcand, GOP primary candidate for the 1st District…He will be in the TC area this weekend for the Kalkaska Gun Show and the TB 912 meeting Tuesday…
He needs help south of the Bridge with his campaign, so I (we) may be sending him to some of your FB pages and Tea Party/GOP groups for support gathering signatures and gaining some name and face recognition…Hope you can find the time to help him get his message out in the Lower…
To the diehard party liners who will object to any support for a primary challenger to Congressman Benishek, I’m really sorry you don’t support the 1st amendment, which is what you are really saying… A great many people aren’t satisfied with the job Benishek has done thus far, and their voices and votes must be taken into account in this cycle also…
As always, we will attempt to provide a platform for any candidate that has the guts and energy to stand up and speak out…people need to know there is more out there than just Party/lobbyist money fed politicians…
Good luck to Alan, and I hope he is well treated and well received in the Lower…The August primary should be a clear statement from the voters to the GOP establishment, in more ways than one…
I will post his schedule as soon as it is confirmed…
And, send a few Dollars to Mr. Arcand.

Mr. Backers, you are absolutely correct that a great many aren't satisfied with Benishek's performance. Benishak was gifted national support in 2010 when Stupak cut his infamous deal with the White House. Benishek spent his first term rolling with the D.C. flow. In 2012 many advised Benishek, if he continues his course of rank and file establishment pandering behavior that he shall do so at his own peril for 2014.
Fact is Doctor Dan could not even garner half the vote in 2012, and his margin of victory was 0.5% over McDowell (47.6%). Even Mitt Romney carried CD-1 54% to 45%. This is not a presidential election year. Dan Benishek has the most insecure seat in the state, however, he also has a big campaign warchest to work with in a geographical large District, and incumbency after his name that all the LoFos* vote.
Any primary challenger is going to need all the financial support they can get.
*low information voters
I have yet to cast a single vote for Dr. Dan, having actively campaigned against him in 2010, and abstaining from supporting him in any way for re-election in 2012…Saul Anuzis got him elected in 2010, and introduced him to party establishment politics in his first term…The results are obvious…
A significant primary challenge may 'wake him up'….but I sincerely doubt it…Should he lose his seat, it would not affect the House in any significant way, but be advised the Dem challenger (Jerry Cannon) is from here in Kalkaska, and is Lon Johnson's hand picked puppet for the seat…He has a reputation locally for ruining Kalkaska County, something we are still fighting to get straightened out…
On the other hand, NO candidate from the Lower has ever held the D1 seat...
I know, Mr. Backers. Mr. M-33 Access with inexplicable Dem funding. I remember it well. I would also dispute the fact that Saul carried as much weight as you suggest as Stupak for all intensive purposes shat in the face of his pro-life constituency, and Benishek just happened to be a doctor in the house regarding a health insurance bill jumping on TEA folk coattails. Matters little now. I gave Benishek his one shot in 2010, and he f*@%#& it up. He did not receive my support nor vote in 2012. If Benishek survives the primary, the outcome will still net him my 2012 position.
And, for record it appears that Cannon may have a primary challenge on his hands too.
I have stored in my old Dell tower hard drive the complete history of the activities that got Dr. Dan elected…Initiated by Anuzis with a phone call to Dan telling him to file 256 signatures he had collected, the hiring of a temporary campaign manager out of Madison Wisconsin, and the contributions to his FB page within 24 hours of its inception totaling $225K from outside sources headed up by a DC political PAC…
Any other questions???
Now you know why I campaigned for Glenn Wilson…and others...
Excellent mementos and stories to swap I'm sure, however, we both know it ain't gonna change Benishek's vote record, and Mr. 25x25 got his ass bounced out of the Party, of which, Third world voting Schostak should've too.
Your point?
My point is that Saul had (and still does have) influence in the party and DC…We missed bouncing Schostak at that convention by 51 votes…
I will keep this board apprised of the Arcand activities this week…I will NOT give up…
Money wins these elections, we know that, but money cannot silence the opposition...
35 votes
My sources said 51, but who cares at this point???
Give up? Hell no! Lead the Arcand charge, dammit. I'm doing my part in my neck of the woods.
As for Saul... whatever. There are always those that will watch someone autofellate for a buck.
Saul/Yob/Schostak...
Yep. Sleazy bastards.
Good God. Damned near forgot... this here is another phony U of M Nerd Arbor Bush/Devos/Prince Yob-ite Biden jagoff too. Gots to keep them wacko birds *pick me says handler young Johnny* under control.
Damned near as bad as the queefs from Mr. Lon Smoots, tho, now with the addition of Li'l Ronna...
