There Is No Voter Fraud You Crazy Conservatives

None to worry about folks.

Unless you are paying attention. From Watchdog.org:

“RICHMOND, Va. — Some 6.9 million Americans are registered to vote in two or more states, according to a report obtained by Watchdog.org.

“Our nation’s voter rolls are a mess,” says Catherine Engelbrecht, president of the election-watch group True The Vote.

“Sensible approaches to roll maintenance are fought tooth and nail by radical special interests who can use the duplicity in the system to their advantage,” she said.

The latest interstate voter cross check tallied 6,951,484 overlapping voter registrations, and they’re just the tip of the iceberg.”

As the progressives deny the need for pictured ID, the potential for distorted elections is a powerful threat.  I am glad we have SOS Ruth Johnson on the ball here in Michigan.

Vote No On Proposal 1?

no-on-oneIt’s seemed all too easy for this to almost slip right by, unquestioned as we fight our local political battles..

Folks have been trying to figure out the impact of proposal one.  The complicated gobbledygook language contained in multiple bills as a part of PA 80 has not helped, and the question remains: “Why is it necessary to have the voters act to ‘reduce’ taxes?” Before we as a state vote on ANYTHING, it ought to be at least reasonably explained.

Indeed, I don’t know anyone who likes the personal property tax, but will the ‘devil we know’ be replaced by one even more destructive?  Rose Bogaert, of the Wayne County Taxpayers Association lays it out:

Proposal 1
APPROVAL OR DISAPPROVAL OF AMENDATORY ACT TO REDUCE STATE USE TAX AND REPLACE WITH A LOCAL COMMUNITY STABILIZATION SHARE TO MODERNIZE THE TAX SYSTEM TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES GROW AND CREATE JOBS
The amendatory act adopted by the Legislature would:

  1. Reduce the state use tax and replace with a local community stabilization share of the tax for the purpose of modernizing the tax system to help small businesses grow and create jobs in Michigan.
  2. Require Local Community Stabilization Authority to provide revenue to local governments dedicated for local purposes, including police safety, fire protection, and ambulance emergency services.
  3. Increase portion of state use tax dedicated for aid to local school districts.
  4. Prohibit Authority from increasing taxes.
  5. Prohibit total use tax rate from exceeding existing constitutional 6% limitation. Should this law be approved?

I want to state that the Personal Property Tax is a horrible tax and a burden to business and employment. If I were to say to the average taxpayer that their stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer and any other appliance or furniture were all subject to personal property tax for 10 years after purchase with a reduction each year for depreciation, we would have a revolt.

Arcand is challenging incumbent Dan Benishek for Michigan’s First Congressional District.

Speaking of Schadenfreude

Uh-oh, there’s that cool German word that Bush-ite money bundler Ron Weiser and his toady Yob don’t like.

Gov. Rick Snyder’s re-election campaign said Wednesday it has fired an unpaid [how is one fired from an unpaid “job”? Are folks really that stupid?] college intern after he attempted to volunteer for rival Mark Schauer’s campaign.

Taylor Grenawalt, 19, was dismissed Tuesday evening after a liberal blogger published emails the Schauer campaign received from Grenawalt asking about opportunities to help Schauer get elected, Snyder campaign spokeswoman Emily Benavides confirmed.

“This is concerning a former intern who did this of his own volition. He’s no longer a part of our campaign,” Benavides told The Detroit News.
….

Benavides said Grenawalt was an unpaid part-time intern who joined the campaign in late May.

“As soon as we found out about all of this, he was dismissed. It’s nothing that the campaign condones,” Benavides said. “We did not know about it at the time. It’s definitely not in line with our campaign ideals.”

Of course it isn’t “in line”. That kind of behavior is reserved for Slick Rick’s paid professionals…

Something Messy In Mississippi?

Apparently 58K voters more voted in the runoff?MS-Primary

Now, I am not a big fan of voting fraud conspiracies, but given that 58,628 more voters voted in the Republican runoff than in the Primary, there are two story possibilities that can be told.

MS-Runoff

  1. That the Dems did INDEED come over as invited by the RINO Cochran and the NRSC. or,
  2. There was machine tampering.

Are we to believe that 78 percent of the Democrat voters in the primary became active again in the run off? Its a hard sell. And why would McDaniel’s numbers increase so substantially as well at the same time?

Hometown Paper Rallies Around Editor

The Argus wraps itself around former editor Rich Perlberg in an attempt to brush off legitimate criticism of his 'Republican' bona-fides.

And man parts the size of watermelons.

Golly, its as if we’ve never offered an opinion before.  I can picture the call:

“Oh my gosh, they hurt my feelings..  please help..”

Of course, what good newspaper editorial department dogs its own former leader when he wants to turn hero and run for office in the ‘other party.’

That’s pretty much all I have to say.  Now Jennifer Hensley on the other hand? She has a bit more

“In my ideal world, every primary race would have at least two candidates.  There would be a spirited campaign with in-depth media scrutiny, several debates or forums, and the voters could then compare their options and vote for the candidate who best represents their positions.  Human nature being what it is, this almost never happens.  Let’s use the Michigan 42nd House race as an exemplar.”

The outspoken Brown – named running mate of Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer more than two months ago – expressed empathy with retired teachers at the West Michigan MEA-Retired Chapter at a luncheon gathering.

“I know it’s not a 9-to-5 job, and I know it’s not a nine-month-a-year job, either,” she said. “There’s some people in the state who feel that educators are evil. That’s really the feeling that seems to come out of Lansing all too often.”

Election HellIsn’t it odd that Lisa didn’t get in there that they start Teaching at 17. Ouch! Is that just a cheap shot at Terri List? No, not so much as she received …wait for it… a public education. C’mon, I’m no monster, I “feel their pain“. So, how bad is it for the Michigan Democratic Party? It’s so bad that all they can do is reach out to their base that is bankrupting cities and burying states in debt all across this nation. Seen Michigan’s liability just for teachers lately? Many players on “Team R” are complicit, too.

Exit question. What can Brown do for you? Perhaps, make an alleged Republican legislature grow a pair when there’s an actual card carrying Democrat in the governors office. They sure as Hell have no balls with the Bill Milliken v2.0 in office now. This November is going to be a choice between two losers for governor no matter which way the mop flops.

Why Is This Load So Heavy?

Did Melanie Reinhold Foster ever encounter a housing or tuition increase she didn’t agree with?

Edward John Markey, the junior U. S. Senator from Massachusetts (since July 16th, 2013) has represented the Bay State in Congress since November 2nd, 1976. Adding in his time in the Massachusetts House of Representatives (starting January 3rd, 1973), he’s served a total of a little over 41-½ years in publicly-elected office. During this time, Markey has developed a reputation, supported by both his voting record and his own live-mic admission, of having never once seen a tax increase that he didn’t support. (The long-running backroom joke is that the surefire way to get Markey’s support on a bill that he’d otherwise oppose is to slip a tax increase into the final version of the bill.)

Similarly, a certain candidate for this summer’s convention nomination to a certain university governing board already has an 18-year history on the governing boards of Michigan’s Division I universities. Reviewing her history during that time, I have found no evidence whatsoever of a tuition or housing increase that she wouldn’t support. If she gets back on one of those boards this fall, then that particular habit is going to be a problem.

Cantor’s Defeat Proves “The Conservative Tea Party” Voice Means Business

This should show the establishment MIGOP that when they attack the Grassroots, Conservatives, Libertarians and Tea Party faithful and their voices are ignored you will pay a price at the voting booth! A Tea Party

For Michigan’s Republican voters can you say the “dele-gate” fiasco with the Romney supporters or how about that fiasco at the Tampa Convention?

But it just doesn’t end with those two examples either. How about all the state party rule changes brought down by the power brokers of the MIGOP as to stifle the Grassroots Conservative Tea Party voices here in Michigan?

The party establishment will go to any and all lengths as to protect their perceived power and control along with their spots at the public “feeding trough” over its shrinking membership.

Shades Of Bob Bennett

Could the unexpected defeat of Eric Cantor foretell another conservative wave like the Bob Bennett race did in 2010?

gadsden-flagMichigan’s capitulating Republicans should take note.

In 2010 Bob Bennett was the first contemporary shot fired across the bow of ‘establishment’ Republicans.  His denial in the 2010 selection process served as a warning to those who capitulate a little too well with THE OTHER SIDE.  He was removed and replaced with a rock solid Mike Lee.

Since that that year’s drubbing of liberals, the importance of the tea folk has been ignored or belittled, as the GOP old guard attempted to take back the power they had only ‘loaned’ to the Gadsden waving conservatives.

One of the issues that is a hot button issue amongst the constitutional crowd is immigration reform.  Its not a problem that we have immigrants, but one of loading the system and the federal government not doing their job.  House majority leader Eric Cantor has taken a position favorable to immigration reform and amnesty.  It was likely the reason he fell.
