Remembering those who have fallen, today and always.
A number of small ceremonies across the state will be happening today to celebrate those who paid the ultimate price defending our freedom.
We will always thank those who serve, and pray that God’s merciful hands hold our heroes and champions in his Grace. May God bless each and every one of them as our golden standard for this Christian Nation.
Happy Memorial Day.
Safe travels folks.

In maybe 40 years, I've missed maybe 2 Memorial Day observances. I always dragged my kids and quite often, especially down state, these services were attended by the politicians and my family. It is overwhelmingly wonderful to me that up here in Traverse City, Memorial Day is the respectful event I always thought it should have been down state.
Memorial Day has always been important to me, not because I'm military, but rather, because I'm not. When I was in high school, a close friend announced to me that he was quitting school and joined the Army and was leaving the following Monday. I was never to see him again, a casualty of war. This was a tale that played out so many times in my high school years. Almost 1/3 of the men from my large high school class went to war and many of them did not return. Memorial Day is an important reminder to me of my lost friends whom I pray for, thanking them for their service and whom I shall never forget.
Just the memories of Central Station, are horrific within my family as well.
