    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool

Patterson Makes Obamacare Palatable, Screws Taxpayers

What an Executive wagon-circling doozy floated this morning in The News.

Across the nation, the fees and taxes imposed next year through the Affordable Care Act will generate about $20 billion, based on Joint Committee on Taxation estimates, and could affect nearly 60 percent of Americans who receive insurance through their workplace.

It's uncertain how many employees could pay the higher fees and taxes because employers are deciding whether to absorb the cost or pass along all or part of it. For example, Oakland County government decided to pick up the tab - more than $600,000 - for its workers. Macomb and Wayne county officials could not be reached about their plans.

    REST

As the old saying goes - No pain, No ga, well, in Brooksie's bureaucratic fiefdom... no pain!  Pay up, taxpayers suckers.

With Republicans like in Oakland County, Randy Richardville, Jase Bolger, and Snyder/Calley, who needs Lon Johnson and Julianna Smoot?

    Pure governmental a$$hattery.

How about a nice big bowl of Yooper Super Scooper Fudge ice cream?

Or Traverse City Cherry Bomb or maybe a sugar cone of Very Vernors?

Those flavors haven't been created yet but they could be in the Pure Michigan ice cream contest, which kicks off Wednesday.

Pure Michigan is teaming up with Hudsonville Ice Cream in an effort to help promote the bounty of food and agricultural products available in the state.

At least I know which Crapitalism brand name not to buy from now on.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Rep. Bentivolio, You Want Them To Read What They Pass?

Heaven's to Betsy, what has this world come to when the Ruling Class would be required to read Laws that govern us, and they exempt themselves from?

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Kerry Bentivolio introduced the Read the Bills Act of 2013. This legislation makes important changes to the way Congress does business by giving ample time to review legislation before it is voted on, requiring that all votes on passage be taken by roll call, and by providing that legislation shows in context how it modifies existing law.

It is a basic moral question that a member of Congress should only vote to pass legislation having read and understood it. The Read the Bills Act accomplishes this by requiring that every vote on a bill's passage take place no less than 7 days after the text of the bill is available on-line to the public where it can easily be found. There is an exception to the "7 day rule" for declarations of war.

"It is our duty to be transparent to the constituents we serve. This legislation will increase transparency and ensure that Congress doesn't pass legislation to find out what is in it," said Rep. Bentivolio. "Every law affects how the American people live and it is a dereliction of the Oath of Office to pass laws without knowing what they are."

Rep. Bentivolio's, bill may be viewed here.

Uh-oh.  No more "unanimous consent" sneak through?   The oligarch running the District of Corruption isn't going to be too happy about that, Rep. Bentivolio.  However, you have my support on this bill.  As an aside... any friendly wagers that this legislation dies in committee like S.3360 did in the Senate last year?

    Salute to South Carolina Republicans

Spineless squish republiCant's in Lansing, take note of what testosterone looks like.

The South Carolina House approved a bill Wednesday criminalizing the implementation of President Obama's health care law in the state.

The Republican-controlled House voted 65-39 on the Freedom of Health Care Protection Act.

The act renders "null and void certain unconstitutional laws enacted by the Congress of the United States taking control over the health insurance industry and mandating that individuals purchase health insurance under threat of penalty."

"This kind of victory occurs when the grassroots across the State come together and coalesce," Chris Lawton, spokesman for the Greenville Tea Party, told The Greenville Post. "I could not be prouder."

The bill declares "Obamacare" unconstitutional - despite the Supreme Court ruling last year that the Affordable Health Care Act was constitutional - and that there will be criminal penalties for enforcing the law.

Gov. Nikki Haley earlier this year said that the state will not implement the nation's health care law.

    REST

About damn time a BOLD message is sent.  Of course, the above is example why "Team R" in Michigan, continues its path of dwindling election results with following the stealth Democrat Nerd agenda.  Merely being a Corporatists "it's about jobs" fed, and state, debt slave is setting the Pale Pastel bar too low for this once Great State, and Nation.  BUT, y'all got your second dose of Bobby ShowStak leadership rewards, didn'tchya?

My friend Denny, has an ongoing weekly selection of trophy winners.  Rightmichigan now has its first Officially declared trophy winner selection.  Unfortunately, in Michigan, it goes to someone allegedly on The Right who habitually demonstrates when a politician outlives his usefulness.

"I alienated some in the Jewish (community) when I called the speaker 'Adolf,' " Patterson wrote. "I was commenting on his leadership style. To those offended, I apologize."

Yes, let's steer the conversation as to "not offend" the Fiegers, and the Levins of Michigan, because you were, yet again, Above the Law.  Congratulations, Babbling Brooksie.  You are A$$hole Of The Week.

Ps. Brooksie, you're also reason #5,962.

Reason #5,961 why I Have No Use for the Republican Party

The $460,000,000.00 fleecing of Michigan citizens.

Internet retailers that have a physical presence or affiliated companies in Michigan, such as Amazon.com, would have to collect sales taxes on purchases under legislative proposals debated Wednesday in a House committee.

The House Tax Policy Committee held its first day of public testimony on Republican-sponsored legislation that would change the definition of legal presence for out-of-state companies that sell merchandise toMichiganians on the Web. Amazon owns Brilliance Audio in Grand Haven.

    The Republican response:

"These are not bills that constitute new taxes, rather they're measures that aid in (the collection of) taxes that are already owed," said state Rep. Rob VerHeulen, R-Walker.

Blow it out your ass, Rob.  If you don't have the funds currently, it's a new tax.  And, it's a nightmare of paperwork for business.

Rep. Jon Switalski, D-Warren, said the bill sponsors can't sugar coat the end result of taxing Internet purchases after years of Michigan consumers enjoying tax-free Web shopping.

"We talk about this as fairness ... but the reality is people are going to pay more after these bills pass than they're currently paying," he said.

    No kidding.

Don't Raise MI Taxes Tour Coming to Your Neighborhood

What a shame it is that the Majority Party in Lansing, need guidance with their allowance like little children require, but thank God for the Good People at Americans For Prosperity looking out for us taxpayers in Michigan, with 13 tour stops around the state.

    First Tour stop:

Don't Raise MI Taxes Tour Stop (St. Clair Shores)
    Americans for Prosperity - Michigan
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
    Saint Clair Shores, MI

Thank you for your ongoing efforts, Mr. Hagerstrom!  As noted from an mLive screed, it should be highlighted who the Legislator held responsible for the latest MIaGOP Tax Hike scheme on Michigan residents.

A new plan taking shape in the state House, spearheaded by Republican [questionable] Rep. Wayne Schmidt of Traverse City, is expected to include increased gasoline taxes and registration fees. The proposal also would exempt fuel purchases from the state's six percent sales tax, which is collected at the pump but is not used to fix roads.

Congratulations, District 104 voters.  Feeling dumb about sending Wayne "Show Pony" back for another term in Lansing, yet?  I doubt it.  But wait, there's more!

House Speaker Jase Bolger, R-Marshall, signaled support for the plan on Thursday, telling reporters that the legislature must "be committed to solving the full problem," including making sure that all taxes paid at the pump go toward roads.

What were your words about raising taxes, Speaker Bolger?

"Taxpayers should be the last place we look".  Never did look here, did you?  You can run, but you can't hide, Mr. Speaker.  Methinks, I hit the bullseye with the accuracy of both assessments.

Campus Lizards Promoting Fuel Tax Hikes

    Our tax dollars at work...

"Fair share" without repealing Prevailing Wage on the table, Mr. Zang?  If that isn't a load of Granholm-sized mental masturbating psychobabble, I don't know what is.  Nice try, Gov. Snydholm, but your taxpayer funded mob-rule bus tour for tax hikes would even make Obama blush with your blundering heavy-handed propaganda.

Snyder can't get his Exchange, and expansion of Medicaid abyss sitting Sen. Kahn's lap when Snyder has his Sales Tax, and Fuel Tax Hike scheme sitting in Sen. Kahn's lap too, so Slick Snyder scrapped Repeal of Prevailing Wage.  The Governerd played right into the Democrats hands unwittingly, or not.  More importantly, the Governerd is filling the goonion coffers for the Michigan Democratic Party voting base.  Talk about being "divisive," Governerd?

Folks on the Right in this state should never wonder how we ended up with a loser like Jim Blanchard, winning Office.
