After replacing the MBT with a State Income Tax Hike, plundering retirees pensions, cutting the Homestead Tax Credit, electioneering with Democrats, continuing to gift illegal aliens over $900M annually, and passing Obamacare Snydercaid, the guy I see in the propaganda video above is the best argument presented for a Part-time State Legislature.

Internet retailers that have a physical presence or affiliated companies in Michigan, such as Amazon.com, would have to collect sales taxes on purchases under legislative proposals debated Wednesday in a House committee.

The House Tax Policy Committee held its first day of public testimony on Republican-sponsored legislation that would change the definition of legal presence for out-of-state companies that sell merchandise toMichiganians on the Web. Amazon owns Brilliance Audio in Grand Haven.

The Republican response:

"These are not bills that constitute new taxes, rather they're measures that aid in (the collection of) taxes that are already owed," said state Rep. Rob VerHeulen, R-Walker.

Blow it out your ass, Rob.  If you don't have the funds currently, it's a new tax.  And, it's a nightmare of paperwork for business.

Rep. Jon Switalski, D-Warren, said the bill sponsors can't sugar coat the end result of taxing Internet purchases after years of Michigan consumers enjoying tax-free Web shopping.

"We talk about this as fairness ... but the reality is people are going to pay more after these bills pass than they're currently paying," he said.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts, Mr. Hagerstrom!  As noted from an mLive screed, it should be highlighted who the Legislator held responsible for the latest MIaGOP Tax Hike scheme on Michigan residents.

A new plan taking shape in the state House, spearheaded by Republican [questionable] Rep. Wayne Schmidt of Traverse City, is expected to include increased gasoline taxes and registration fees. The proposal also would exempt fuel purchases from the state's six percent sales tax, which is collected at the pump but is not used to fix roads.

Congratulations, District 104 voters.  Feeling dumb about sending Wayne "Show Pony" back for another term in Lansing, yet?  I doubt it.  But wait, there's more!

House Speaker Jase Bolger, R-Marshall, signaled support for the plan on Thursday, telling reporters that the legislature must "be committed to solving the full problem," including making sure that all taxes paid at the pump go toward roads.

What were your words about raising taxes, Speaker Bolger?

"Fair share" without repealing Prevailing Wage on the table, Mr. Zang?  If that isn't a load of Granholm-sized mental masturbating psychobabble, I don't know what is.  Nice try, Gov. Snydholm, but your taxpayer funded mob-rule bus tour for tax hikes would even make Obama blush with your blundering heavy-handed propaganda.

Snyder can't get his Exchange, and expansion of Medicaid abyss sitting Sen. Kahn's lap when Snyder has his Sales Tax, and Fuel Tax Hike scheme sitting in Sen. Kahn's lap too, so Slick Snyder scrapped Repeal of Prevailing Wage.  The Governerd played right into the Democrats hands unwittingly, or not.  More importantly, the Governerd is filling the goonion coffers for the Michigan Democratic Party voting base.  Talk about being "divisive," Governerd?

I mention before about the Governerd's scheme that Two Penny Jenny tried with raising taxes. Well, a mere 6 days after writing about it, there you have it.  Lansing Nerdpublicans have resurrected the 2012 dead.

Bills introduced Wednesday in the state Senate include a proposed constitutional amendment to raise the 6 percent sales tax to 8 percent and devote the extra revenue to transportation funding.

The state's 19-cent-a-gallon gasoline tax would go away in return.

If voters didn't like that approach, a mix of increased gas tax and vehicle registration fees would go into effect if there's support in the Republican-controlled Legislature.

The bills call for registration fees to rise by about 80 percent. Gas and diesel taxes would be roughly doubled.

A scant few days after the Obama amnesty loving Nerd finished his SOTS, there you have it.  Senate republicrats rushed to hammer out SJR J (Richardville - Kahn/Caswell) tie bar to SB 85 (Kahn - Pappageorge), and SB 88 (Kahn), or SB 86 (Kahn), and SB 87 (Kahn).  Look, Team R Governerd lackeys, you serve feces on a croissant, but it's still a sh*t sandwich.  Look elsewhere for revenue?  Oh, Hell no.  Tax 'em because it's a crisis.  If I were one of the Socialists on Team D, I would make you Lansing republicans pay through the nose for that tax hiking yes vote you need to pass either of that crap being served.  And, they will.

Certainly this is the premise which the main street fairness act is being pursued. It is a means under which sales nexus will be identified, and taxes would be collected for sales made online for anything coming into the state that was purchased online.  It has the support of our governor, and looks to be heavily pushed with the claim that even elected conservatives are interested in it.

Not this one.

This is another one of those deals where instead of removing the regulatory misery under which retailers and business owners operate, it is presumed the better way toward fairness is to inflict it upon as many others as possible.   They are suffering, so can you. Share the pain.  And our governor Rick Snyder is now embracing it.

What will this mean to online wholesalers like myself?

I will ultimately have to deal with a number of sales tax licenses and a nightmarish bureaucracy entanglement.  I will have to report to not only my own state, but others within this compact agreement to be able to ship within those states legally.  I will not be able to ship to my customer's customers in Michigan directly, without revealing the transparent drop ship patterns.  Other states that are not a part of the compact would have their own plans which would cause harm to my model (California is already doing this) by imposing their own nexus rules even possibly based on volume shipped to their states.

It will hurt folks using my business model from the crushing paperwork aspect alone.
