To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.
Some tips:
Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.
Here is a heartwarming story out of Florida, that you most likely won't be seeing in the MarxStream Media.
Cliff's Notes version? Sheriff Nick Finch, released a dude they caught carrying a pistol. Reasoning? Amendment II supersedes bad gun Laws. Florida AG Pam Bondi (known enemy of We the People w/ scrubbed video), prosecuted, Sheriff Finch. A jury (God bless 'em) told The State to go bag their duplicitous ass, and get the good Sheriff back on the job, of which, in an extraordinary prudent move, Gov. Scott immediately did just that.
For record, those who keep track, that makes for, Sheriff Nick Finch = 1 certifiedOath Keeper.
Our elected 83 in Michigan? For the most part, they suck eggs. As noted here, and here on RightMichigan, they suck more so in Kalkaska. Then there's this from The Blaze on Crawford County LEO thuggery.
To paraphrase Mitt Romney, "Corporations are pandering Liberals, my friend."
AYFKM? Witness ^ my last Starbucks coffee - ever. Yannow, I've always had a complete disdain for Jews like Howard Schultz who have less than total support for our Right to keep and bear arms. It is based in good reason. As they say, all politics is local. Not to mention how quickly history goes ignored by the Schultz's, Bloomberg's, and Feinstein's in this nation. Unscrupulous bastards.
As expected, Gov. Rick Snyder has signed a bill that could clear the way for a wolf hunt in Michigan's Upper Peninsula as early as this fall -- and influence which types of species are hunted well into the future.
....
"This action helps ensure sound scientific and biological principles guide decisions about management of game in Michigan," Snyder said in a statement announcing his bill signing. "Scientifically managed hunts are essential to successful wildlife management and bolstering abundant, healthy and thriving populations."
F'ing whaah, ya enviroloons. CS, a change of heart on the Nerd? Nope, he's still a flaccid d!*k. If only he thought the same of folks being able to legally protect themselves from two-legged predators, I may reconsider my total disdain for the stealth Democrat.
Our Michigan tax dollars at work obstructing our 2nd Amendment Rights while criminals roam freely.
Seeking to make a point about firearms, a Michigan man decided to open carry his .45-cal. handgun at his daughter's school and later uploaded the footage to YouTube. The father says he made sure to first notify the school, the Michigan State Police, the county sheriff and other local law enforcement officials that he would be exercising his right to carry a gun.
....
The rest of the man's trip to the school was seemingly incident free. He later had a conversation with the deputy about Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder recently vetoing a bill that would have permitted citizens with extra training to carry concealed weapons.
"To be honest with you, that would be better," the woman identified as a deputy says, talking about concealed carry.
Nah, deputy ma'am. The stealth Democrat Nerd knows what's better for Law-abiding citizens than even the dwindling 2012 republican majority in the legislature.
