    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

"White bourgeois Liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is that there aren't enough bicycle paths"

    ROFLMAO!!!

Yup. Line up all the Bee-esS artists who can kiss my Scottish arse. Front of the line?  Howza 'bout The Nerd's newest stealth org masquerading as "conservatives" that are "on a mission from God".

The recent launch of the Michigan Conservative Energy Forum comes as Gov. Rick Snyder and legislators consider updating Michigan's electricity law in 2014 or 2015.

Group executive director Larry Ward [yes, this Larry Ward] says the organization supports an "all-of-the-above" [Coal? Not so much] energy policy. He says it's time for Republicans to lead on energy policy.

Michigan law sets a 10 percent renewable power standard that must be met by the end of 2015. A recent report to Snyder says 15 percent renewable electricity in 2020 and 30 percent in 2035 are achievable. [need a Prop 3 Reminder?]

Or, howza 'bout this Snyder reminder? The MCEF... what despicable ad nauseam. His Word is to "subdue earth, have command over it, eat its critters, and have a few bonfires or be swallowed by earth" not to go breaking out knee pads and fellate it on Pelosi's Sofa.

Sorry Charlie, err, Joshua, however, besides same last names, you two do have the same stench.

Last week, following offensive comments about LGBT Michiganians [those would be Michiganders] from Michigan's Republican National Committee member Dave Agema, Michigan Republicans collectively failed to take any action to hold Agema accountable for his hate speech. Republican Gov. Snyder was complicit in this, telling a Lansing radio host "I'm not getting into that."

Hate speech my ass, signed Wolverine. Furthermore, if the Ann Arbor Nerd wasn't such a flaming Progressive surrounding himself in Obama funding secrecy, his answer for Medicaid Expansion would have also been, "I'm not getting into that."

Every stupid thing on The Left has become an ongoing distraction from reality.

Sit and spin on that one, Mr. deflector of communications for the Michigan Democratic Party.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

The Flim-Flam Man and his Nerdpublicrat majority nailed folks good this time.

Expanded Medicaid's fine print holds surprise: 'payback' from estate after death

As thousands of state residents enroll in Washington's expanded Medicaid program, many will be surprised at fine print: After you're dead, your estate can be billed for ordinary health-care expenses. State officials are scrambling to change the rule.
    ....

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the politically conservative Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, writing in the The Washington Times, called the recovery provision "a cash cow for states to milk the poor and the middle class."

"People will think this is wonderful, this is free insurance," Orient said in an interview. "They don't realize it's really a loan, and is secured by any property they have."

Even states that are now limiting estate recovery, she warned, can change the rules again if budget problems become more intense.

    Unclear rules

One reason this snafu has become so troublesome is that ACA rules appear to give those who qualify for Medicaid little choice but to accept the coverage.

People cannot receive a tax credit to subsidize their purchase of a private health plan if their income qualifies them for Medicaid, said Bethany Frey, spokeswoman for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

    REST

All the way from One Big Ass Mistake America, to Vote, No Vacation Snyder and his faux-conservative Gen Xer toadie - the Mitten State is screwed.

    Residential Property Values - DESTROYED

Another day, and yet another quality of life story on the hidden costs of Michigan's green energy policy.

Local officials and Consumers Energy are at odds over whether a wind plant located south of Ludington meets safety standards.

Those living close to the wind plant continue to be exposed daily to the turbines and their apparent negative impact on health and quality of life.

Allegations that Lake Winds Energy Plant has significant safety issues are not new. On April 1, area residents filed a lawsuit claiming noise, vibrations and flickering lights generated by the 56 turbine facility are adversely impacting their health. Dizziness, sleeplessness and headaches are among the symptoms noted in the lawsuit.

    REST

You know what goes unmentioned about who is making a profitable living off this junk science wealth redistribution scheme? Lawyers. You name it, from them changing a bill originated in the Senate into a tax bill, which is now deemed health insurance law under the Unaffordable Care Act, to lawsuits like this - lawyers win. Jefferson warned that lawyers will lay all things at their feet, and they are too well versed in English law to forget the maxim, "boni judicis est ampliare juris-dictionem."  We all now live that today. Doubt me, then take it from those with a law degree.

What surprises me (and it shouldn't) is that nobody in the legislature has called out the Snyder administration for destroying evidence. Then again, perhaps a reason for that is explained rather well in comment, here.  Still, that's not a good enough excuse for our Forth Highest Compensated in Lansing. Note: "Such legislatures not only cost less; they also tend to spend less."

Speaking of the necessity for a Part-time legislature, it is observed, the always on the wrong side of the tracks Dennis Lennox, stays his quisling rails of squeaky wheel epic Progressivism failure.

Some Props to Rep. Tom McMillin

I'm glad to see someone at least trying to address overreaching stupidity that Mike Bishop allowed to pass in 2009.

Restaurants and bars would have the option of allowing smoking on patios and other outdoor portions of their businesses under bipartisan legislation recently introduced in the state Legislature.

Banned outside no less!  F'ing amazing.

"I think this something businesses should be able to offer if they choose to," said Rep. Tom McMillin, R-Rochester Hills, the sponsor of House Bill 5159. "People step outside to smoke now anyway.

"I am not a smoker, but to me this is an issue of liberty and property rights," Rep. McMillin continued. "That's why I didn't support the smoking ban legislation when it was in the House. If I was in one of these areas with my children and someone started smoking, I'd go someplace else. I believe that's a choice we always have."

Been saying that to non-smokers for years, Rep. McMillin.  Bottom line, it's a big state, and there is room for everyones vision of what is condoned by business owners in their establishments, especially when it is an exorbitantly taxed, legal product in question.  Prior to this nanny authoritarian law, if I chose to enter a place that didn't permit smoking that was my choice.  Today, my choice, and other establishment owners is eliminated by a majority of overcompensated full-time graft practitioners (Tom, and a handful of others excluded).  But, it's about public heath CS!  Of course it is, as long as one doesn't notice the deep pockets for lobbyist like the exempted casinos in Detoilet.

Ps. Brian Calley strikes again.  My surprised look...

What an Executive wagon-circling doozy floated this morning in The News.

Across the nation, the fees and taxes imposed next year through the Affordable Care Act will generate about $20 billion, based on Joint Committee on Taxation estimates, and could affect nearly 60 percent of Americans who receive insurance through their workplace.

It's uncertain how many employees could pay the higher fees and taxes because employers are deciding whether to absorb the cost or pass along all or part of it. For example, Oakland County government decided to pick up the tab - more than $600,000 - for its workers. Macomb and Wayne county officials could not be reached about their plans.

    REST

As the old saying goes - No pain, No ga, well, in Brooksie's bureaucratic fiefdom... no pain!  Pay up, taxpayers suckers.

With Republicans like in Oakland County, Randy Richardville, Jase Bolger, and Snyder/Calley, who needs Lon Johnson and Julianna Smoot?

Schauer proposes hiking state minimum wage to $9.25 an hour

In the mean time, Rick Snyder's MEDC and Gary Peters are tirelessly working for Corporate Welfare schemes.

Snooze button is almost set for November 4, 2014...
