  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The Nerd is sounding more like Obama by the day.

For the appropriate response in its entirety, CLICK HERE.

First, let's have some facts, shall we?  There are 12,385,000 more people of working age (16-64, inclusive) today than there were in September of 2008.  America is not suffering from a contracting workforce.

    Period.

And, Snyder you Progressive snake, enough of the revisionist history about the Dow family of Connecticut.

What better scenario could possibly happen for Unapologetic Conservatives, other than to have an East coast thug who strong-armed his way to chair the Republican Governors Association, flitting about The Mitten campaigning for the Nerd?

Please visit I'm a man! I'm 41! for reason why Christie is useful.

Folks, it's all about transparency, of which, as like with Christie, Rick Snyder's self-invented nerd persona is anything but transparent.

I suppose the exit question should be: will the Boobus Michiganderus voters swallow a second term of Snyder abuse?

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    Study Says: "D'oh!"

One of the major reasons used for justifying medicaid expansion in Michigan was that too many were using the hospital emergency rooms, rather than using a regular doctor.

If fact, during the building expansion debate in 2013, Michigan's Governor Rick Snyder claimed as much:

"Currently, Snyder says we are funding the Emergency room visits of those without coverage through our increased insurance fees. He believes it would save money to send them to doctors opposed to the Emergency room.

Patriot Radio's "Trucker Randy" Bishop asked why he didn't opt out of Obamacare, like other states have done. The governor replied because that will leave people without healthcare and at the mercy of emergency rooms."

Huh, I guess he was wrong.

At least as is being reported in the Detroit News (and in a million other [surprised] outlets) he was:

" A new study has found that people enrolled recently in Medicaid went to the emergency room 40 percent more frequently than others, often seeking help for conditions that could be treated less expensively in a doctor's office or an urgent care clinic."
    And there you go.

And it wasn't as if there was no warning.  It wasn't as if there was no one talking about an increase in Medicaid use, coupled with a reduction of Doctors to handle such things.

    Continued below the fold

Sorry Charlie, err, Joshua, however, besides same last names, you two do have the same stench.

Last week, following offensive comments about LGBT Michiganians [those would be Michiganders] from Michigan's Republican National Committee member Dave Agema, Michigan Republicans collectively failed to take any action to hold Agema accountable for his hate speech. Republican Gov. Snyder was complicit in this, telling a Lansing radio host "I'm not getting into that."

Hate speech my ass, signed Wolverine. Furthermore, if the Ann Arbor Nerd wasn't such a flaming Progressive surrounding himself in Obama funding secrecy, his answer for Medicaid Expansion would have also been, "I'm not getting into that."

Every stupid thing on The Left has become an ongoing distraction from reality.

    H/t Market Ticker

Sit and spin on that one, Mr. deflector of communications for the Michigan Democratic Party.

The Flim-Flam Man and his Nerdpublicrat majority nailed folks good this time.

Expanded Medicaid's fine print holds surprise: 'payback' from estate after death

As thousands of state residents enroll in Washington's expanded Medicaid program, many will be surprised at fine print: After you're dead, your estate can be billed for ordinary health-care expenses. State officials are scrambling to change the rule.
    ....

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the politically conservative Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, writing in the The Washington Times, called the recovery provision "a cash cow for states to milk the poor and the middle class."

"People will think this is wonderful, this is free insurance," Orient said in an interview. "They don't realize it's really a loan, and is secured by any property they have."

Even states that are now limiting estate recovery, she warned, can change the rules again if budget problems become more intense.

    Unclear rules

One reason this snafu has become so troublesome is that ACA rules appear to give those who qualify for Medicaid little choice but to accept the coverage.

People cannot receive a tax credit to subsidize their purchase of a private health plan if their income qualifies them for Medicaid, said Bethany Frey, spokeswoman for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

    REST

All the way from One Big Ass Mistake America, to Vote, No Vacation Snyder and his faux-conservative Gen Xer toadie - the Mitten State is screwed.

    Meet the Fockers.

AYES: Benishek, Camp, Huizenga, Miller, Rogers, Upton, Walberg

We've seen the movie before.  Spoiler alert: in this sequel, Paul Ryan and John Boehner lie, and the Marxstream Media prints the lie.  Once again, the Michigan GOP delegation majority has voted with Gary Peters, which is their ongoing endorsement of Gary Peters for U.S. Senate.

I cannot do much in other congressional districts, however, I am aware of what I can effect in CD-1.

Congressman Dan Benishek, go f#@% yourself.  With a chainsaw.

Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, I thank you for voting NO, and voting on Principle.  To that extent, I acknowledge the no vote of this dubious character playing in the Yob-ite propaganda machine.  With same regard, I thank Reps. Conyers, and Levin, for their no votes too.

Rick Snyder used a Chicago Democrat and (BIG) Obama Donor to run his transition team.

Rick Snyder then selected a Democrat to be the state treasurer.

Then Rick Snyder used him to assist in selecting another Democrat to manage Detroit. Race was used in the selection process, contrary to the Michigan constitution; article 1, section 26.

Then Rick Snyder gave the Chicago Democrat a cushy job in Michigan state government making $140k a year.

    Oh yeah.. BIIIIIIIIG Tent.

    Right?

Two statements from high profile positions in Michigan State Government. Both from looking at the decision to allow the Detroit Bankruptcy to go forward. The first from the Nerd

"Today, the federal court allowed Detroit to stay on the path toward a brighter future.  A future where streetlights work and ambulances respond quickly. A future where crime and blight shrink, and where jobs and investments surge."
And a place where unicorn farts cure despair and disease.

    From the AG?

"However, I am deeply disappointed by Judge Rhodes' analysis that pensions may be impaired. I will continue to aggressively defend pensions and Article 9, Section 24 of the Michigan Constitution as this case proceeds to the confirmation stage of bankruptcy planning, at which time we can thoroughly review any plans for potential legal action involving pensions."
And then he drew down his helmet, and grabbed a jousting pole.

Said one to the other before backing up the pretend bus: "We're still friends right?"
